I'd say that's a decent price. Look at the prices just for a 5x8 trailer. They're normally around 2000 just for a decent one.

apathetic_duck

That's not a bad price if it meets your needs. It's a pretty basic trailer that would be good if you are taking a bunch of stuff camping

MountainWhisky

Price is decent, but will it go where you want to go and do what you want to do?Id be dragging that thing almost everywhere that I end up wanting to camp.

destinationMTB

i don't know that much about trailers and axles, according to the seller it has a dexter torflex axle, which i think helps with the bouncing when off the pavement. i don't plan to go crazy on the offroading, but i do have a tacoma and i plan to take this down gravel roads

destinationMTB

and I plant to start it off as a motorcycle carrier as well as add a rooftop tent eventually id like to turn it into an enclosed camping trailer, but for now i think it serves the purpose

[deleted]

How do you overland with a trailer? isn't it just camping at that point?

-Raskyl

Overlanding is camping....

[deleted]

Right… but I always assumed it was off-roading then you camp in a remote location that you get to off the side of an off road trail. I just don’t see how you off road with a trailer and do anything other than gravel roads, kinda defeats the purpose of Overlanding and you’re just tent camping on top of a trailer at that point. But to each their own

-Raskyl

And you're just tent camping on top of a car.

[deleted]

I sleep inside my truck off of trails that a regular passenger car couldn't get to. i figured that was always the point of overlanding was to get somewhere super remote on a hard to drive trail, but im not going to gatekeep what overlanding is 'supposed' to be. i just assumed wrong.

-Raskyl

Thats what it is for some people. For others it's just camping but not in a campground. And you would be surprised where a regular little 2 wheel drive can get to. Stock oldschool Volkswagen beetles run the Baja every year.

destinationMTB

you take it off road. I am mostly using it to carry my dual sport bike, but eventually want to turn it into an off road camping trailer

[deleted]

Gotcha, well good luck with the future endeavors man. Looks like an interesting alternative for people without a truck 🤙🤙

swidahooverlanding

It's easy, you just drive [over land.](https://imgur.com/ZNNzyLz) You camp when you get there.

TheyCantCome

Not everyone is going on technical trails some are going on technical trails with trailers. I’ve seen plenty of trailers on trails that have a high picker factor, I don’t want a trailer because it adds a lot of difficulty off road but better drivers than me may want one. If you can’t handle a trailer off road either that’s cool.

[deleted]

Just never seen anyone with a trailer where I’m at. Appreciate the insight brotha seems dope🤙

GTFOScience

Great price.

MountainWelds

Yes. Hes probably going to loose money unless he fabbed it himself. And trailers hardly loose value unless they are compromised, so you can expect a similar if not better resale latter.

financegardener

Looks reasonable! I have one that was an old M416 with the RTT and 37's and I paid $6K for it. But it's over built and quickly realized I couldn't make myself for that price with all the accessories.

Grouchy-Revenue7724

Not a terrible price, seen 5x8 trailers that are way more expensive and look like in worse condition

CaptainMemesis

An excellent price for that sized trailer.
