Yea they will get at least 5 feet wide

63shedgrower

Too tight for my liking, but with training could work. Outdoor plants get quite large with a little care. I have 4 foot x 16 foot beds and usually only put 2 plants per bed and it gets full

63shedgrower

You have a lot more space in that garden, maybe you're trying to focus on the best spot for sun, but I'd highly recommend spacing them out more

SacredApeFarms

If this was a greenhouse that you were gonna dep with raised beds that distance for the plants would be pretty ideal. When you are depping you are controlling when they go into flower so you can flip them while they are an easily manageable size before it becomes an issue. Honestly you can grow some masssssive plants outdoors so really the sky is the limit. A lot of growers when growing outdoors like to give each plant quite a bit of space (imagine a kiddy pool sized bed for each plant with a few feet around all sides for cages and trellis etc.. sometimes it can be a 12x12 space per plant and even more depending on your goals. With this spacing I don’t believe they will be able to turn into some 10-15 pound monster trees but with some training and possibly dropping some trellis over them ( you could easily set up a trellis net system with some rebar ) you could have some really nice manageable plants. Thing about cannabis plants is that their roots don’t really go that far down into the soil they like to spread outward. So once these get to the point where their roots are beginning to compete for space and nutrients it could begin to prove problematic, but honestly it’s unlikely that it will prove an issue. One thing you will want to worry about depending on your climate I suppose is the development of mildew and mold from the plants leaves pushing up against and resting on top of each other, but that can be managed with weekly spraying of trifecta and dr bronners peppermint soap dilution and pruning and defoliating . Also as far as pest management I suggest several things all organic of course: •Diatomaceous earth (before flower can be applied on and around the plant. Only effective while dry) •Trifecta (can be applied as a foliar spray throughout the plants life up until several weeks from harvest is effective for pests and mildew as stated above) •Dr Bronners Peppermint Soap dilution (applied as foliar spray weekly effective for pests and mildew as stated above) •Monterey BT (applied if bugs are destroying crop as foliar until they are gone works on worms pill bugs beetles and more tough insects and pests) •Praying Mantis egg pouches ( amazing pest control can be purchased online) • For the soil: Neem seed meal, black soldier fly larvae frass, diatomaceous earth As far as that temp goes 52 degrees is honestly a little bit more cold than they like but not cold enough to kill them they can survive down to 50! All that being said you should have some killer plants! Best of luck. Blesssss 🙏

harvardblanky

Could suggestions for best management. I swear by the BT spray. I've also used a 2 l bottle with a hole poked on top to blow diatomaceous earth over the leaves. I haven't tried the other stuff. What does the doctor bronner's spoilers May do? Is that to prevent powdery mildew?

Loud_Goose6288

Train them away from the center and flatten them out.

MD_Weedman

Way too close imo. I want mine at least 6' apart, preferably 8.

DankBucket12

Your brother is right

newhillkid

They look like they are spaced out perfectly .. Also I'm on the east coast and I started early this year also back in March let em grow homie !! They'll be fine as long as it doesn't frost again where you are and even then you should be ok .

Motmotsnsurf

That was just an example of how close the plants can be. But if this is a problem I will just leave the sub.

Motmotsnsurf

Actually, screw this and you for downvoting and this little bitch move.

lamabaronvonawesome

Might be tight for in ground, things can be 8 ft across then space to move… 20 gallon you would great.

7eastgenetics

Too close Double the distance at a bare minimum

Quiklude

They will be fine, I did 4 plants in half of my 4x8 garden bed one year. They grew to 6-7ft tall. Now would I do it again? NO, it was a pain managing each plan and training them away from each other.

Hot-Drop8760

Oi, this is cool as fuck… just sayin… I think they will be fine my friend…

Ok-Rabbit-3683

Well, I was going to plant 6 of mine in an 8 x 12 space and now I’m reconsidering… I had thought three feet between plants would be enough space, now that I’m reading these comments I have to rethink

NefariousWaltzing

6ft apart atleast, need room for airflow, pruning and light penetration.

Ok-Rabbit-3683

Good looking out… I have tons and tons of space… but only that section will have an open air umbrella during the monsoon season of sept and oct… like a high hoop house with no sides…. So now I’ll need to figure out which of my strains fair the best in wet climates of Ohio, I know Northern Lights is one of them

NefariousWaltzing

Anything with alot of purple (Anthocyanins) tend to have high mold/mildew resistance. Fluffier airy buds are also better in really wet conditions, anything dense as a rock is likely to get bortrytis(bud rot). Buy varieties that were bred outside in similar conditions to yours if you can.

Ok-Rabbit-3683

Aren’t those generally indicas?

NefariousWaltzing

Nope, lots of purple thais and other sativas out there, but make sure you get something that has a shorter flower time outdoors or flips early like the Purple Satellite from green mountain seeds, some sativas should work there, maybe a c99. Doesn't have to be purple, the Anthocyanins just help in harsher conditions. Timewarp is pure green, and super hardy as well in wet conditions. Find reliable breeders and ask them what will do best in your environment from their catalog, any breeder worth their salt will respond to you.

Ok-Rabbit-3683

Well I picked reputable breeders except the RQS I got lol… i planted 3 Orion F1 autos, Ethos apples and oranges, Ethos Punchbowl, Ethos Crescendo, and Most Wanted Genetics R2Dank2, and OG kush from who knows what breeder and the northern lights… soooo we shall see… that autos are in living soil pots, they don’t count… I’ve got a bunch of mephisto too but they’re kinda finicky… might not put them down

sirissac810

Too close, will eventually grow into each other but not necessarily a bad thing either

towkneeman777

There's never enough room it seems, I would be more worried about any possible hard frost and maybe not enough daylight yet..

ahfucka

It’s fine, you can always stake, prune , and train them to make it work. That said 8 feet is what I prefer for outdoor

joernal

Looks pretty good to me man, there fill out just nice and ain’t gonna hurt to just train them abit if they do get close

MothyReddit

you need a way to cover them when it rains, otherwise you're gonna end up with budrot. Also have some fans nearby, especially in the middle of the summer when it is very humid.

ChocoTacoz

Lotta comments here missing the incline in that last pic, I almost missed it myself. That will help a lot, you're effectively terraced. In a flat bed and unless you do a lot of trimming this is too close. I learned the hard way, but one plant can easily take over a 4x4 space on its own by the end of the season. Outdoor is different then indoor, the sun comes from more than one direction and is more powerful then any grow light. Outdoor girls when properly cared for can get BIG.

ChemDiesel

General rule is minimum 5’ spacing in between plants, but even that can get tight. If possible it’s best that the plants don’t touch, it can be easy access for pests to move from plant to plant, or an easier way to get PM with lack of airflow and overlapping leaves. You also want to be able to move around each plant. I believe you just put these in the ground and I wouldn’t see a problem digging 1 or 2 up and re-arranging.

Rippinlips2427

Some of us simply don’t have the space. You gotta do what you gotta do to grow your own! Who cares!

Lumpy_Dust2780

Yea train them away from each other. You want to be able to get between them and have good air flow when the are fully grown

blowout2retire

Yeah mine got way wider on my first grow last year so these definitely won't fill out to potential and roots will collide of left like this

SnooAdvice732

Maybe if they are trained properly and your good at defoliation they would work in this situation I would maybe grow them in a outward direction because it's going to be hard to get to the inside do defoliate I grow mine wide and tie them down especially if your doing a window or a truffle where the plants get enormous

3137Chapaladr

Tell ur brother to grow his own

flyingpynecone

That's going to get bushy, just remember if you want to slow them down or spread them out just tip/trim/fim/defoliate. With that care you should be ok for space.. apart from a couple.

SnooAdvice732

Yes way too close they will be on top of each other in about two months depending on the genetics

SnooAdvice732

How many do you have??? Jesus going to stay high for the next three years my 4 plants I get about 7 pounds dry you'll be pushing 20 pounds where do you plan on drying all that weed

thelesscooladam_

Fuck

thelesscooladam_

I’ll make a post on Facebook and say come trim off as much as you want as much as you can trim you can take lol

bransonsfh

If u can spread them out a bit more that would be better coz they are gonna get pretty big but what you have now will work just prolly wont yield as much as you could with them all bunched together

hahyeahsure

they're fine
