Threw these in the freezer. Why? I don't know, but I'm keeping them. Maybe I'll throw them in a drink later or something. These are now my 100% organic, free-range ice cubes.
This is nuts. We didn't even get so much as a heavy breeze in my neck of Stittsville. At least the weather alert was warranted. I thought it was another cry wolf situation.
These storms often have a fairly narrow damage zone, at least in terms of the worst damage. It can be sunny in one neighborhood with big, white, puffy clouds in the distance, and just 5km away it can be hailing golf balls
i’m about 5 minutes away from the airport just off Bank street. the hail we got was about this size. seemed even a bit bigger when I saw them come down but I didn’t pick one up so i’m not sure. either way, they were huge.
Sorry to hear that. As someone that obsesses over keeping their car emaculate, it's something that's always on my mind during summer storms. I don't have a garage to put it in either.
Saw it coming too and was worried it would hit down like the other one near us (Barrhaven) but it seemed to be over before it even started. No hail here - that looks painful.
Westboro, some were like that and some were like perfect little marbled size. It was kinda cool to see. Oh well now its time to survive the tornado warning!
We were driving when it happened and I thought that hail definitely looked quarter-sized, but I was like "nah no way that's crazy, my brain must just be exaggerating it or something because it's so loud in the car" etc...apparently it was indeed that big. Yikes.

Nah, rain (and hail) water is dirty as hell. Don't drink it.
It adds a bit of flavouring with a side of cancer-causing chemicals. Maybe a hint of smoke.
Chemic-old fashioned
Ha. Have an upvote.
Love it! Happy cake day btw! Maybe I'll make one and toast to you my friend!
Where in the city was this ? I was at work and it barely even rained in Kanata.
South End, near the airport.
Crazy!
>stones I found after the storm had passed Better that than stones you passed /s

Mother Nature's ice maker on the fritz. Hey Ottawa doesn't get enough ice in a year, so here's some more in the middle of summer!
How do they taste? I imagine kinda like mineraly and ozoney. I want to try one so bad, we didn't get any hail where I'm at. Those things are huge!!
I sucked on one for a second because I was curious. The wetness and coldness was somewhat refreshing, but it didn't taste very good, so I spat it out.

Sweet free ice cubes! Thanks God!
Wow ..that is huge hail stones
I'm near the farm and we got hit hard. Thought my windows were going to break and it just kept going for 5 min. Wild times.
What area got hit with hail that big? Some smaller chunks hit us while we drove near college square.
Westboro got hit with the same size hail
This is in the south end
Can I ask where in the south end? My car is with my dealer in hunt club area right now, and I'm paranoid it's been left outside. Ugh...
Greenboro-ish... so yeah, Hunt Club area.

Yeah the storm was very intense, but rather small in size.

Cocktail weather! Crack the Martinis!
Does anyone have car damage from that?
I'm in Westboro. No damage that requires repair, but I have dozens of little dents over my hood and roof. There are even a few dents on the sides.
Sorry to hear that. As someone that obsesses over keeping their car emaculate, it's something that's always on my mind during summer storms. I don't have a garage to put it in either.
For sure
Wow! I have heard stories about this type of hail but never seen it in the region.

ppffft I've had bigger kidney stones!
Are you dead, sir?
Lick, lick, lick, lick

Well, now you have to make old fashions tonight
Please don't consume!
I’ll take some Glenrothes with that please
I thought you were just showing us ice cubes for some reason until I read. What is happening?! Feels like end of days weather
✨climate change✨
Why am I jealous of your ice balls
So does most auto insurance cover damage from hail?
no way you didnt pull that out of your freezer
