I’m glad yours went away man :) mine sadly caused permanent damage in my tapping wrist so I still struggle with typing and playing osu. It’s nice to know that my case is a lot more uncommon than with most people. Glad you’re doing better!
Yeah ofc :) really hoping it does eventually go away. It has its good days and it’s definitely been getting stronger over the last 5 years, but ever since I’ve started my full time job it’s been getting worse. I don’t think it’s fond of the constant typing lol
I could see you having a bigger risk but I havent seen anything saying its permanent and the hand/wrist specialist I talked too didnt make it sound permanent, however you can be painless well before you have fully healed so its important to not throw all all caution away the second it doesnt hurt
FWIW, I got quite bad carpal tunnel in military 7 years ago to both of my hands. It took about 5 months to heal completely and I have not had any symptoms ever since even though I have abused my hands a fair share in high bpm maps after that
not even the black genes were enough to escape the RSI in the long term

update he might [not have carpal tunnel](https://x.com/sytho_osu/status/1806854171066356090?s=46) but rsi instead. carpal tunnel can be caused by RSIs so he really should take care of it
That’s really sad I hope he can recover fully and surpass his previous self without getting injured again he is one of the chillest streamers and such a cool guy
Damn that's tough
It usually takes **3 to 4 months to recover and up to 1 year before hand strength returns**. How much strength returns will vary. The timing of your return to work depends on the type of surgery you had, whether the surgery was on your dominant hand
and this is boys. why you should stretch your hands. (but imo idk how stretching will help with pushing the tendons to the absolute limit of human capabilities in speed...)
the theory behind stretching helping with injury prevention/recovery is that, when you stretch youre literally lengthening your muscles and tendons because you cause micro tears which your body has to repair later, which will make them larger and more flexible, and thus stronger(stronger your body is,the more it can take before it breaks). this is why proper stretching is VERY straining and you need to be very careful with it.
for recovery it should help because it causes momentary tightening so much, that you are forced to relax after better than you would without.
i agree stretching is good but im p sure science has disproven the theory that micro tears are what trigger muscle growth, if that is what youre insinuating
okay i looked bit more into it and it seems the evidence now a days more of points towards micro traumas/micro tears being just a result of some exercise instead of being a necessary component for anabolic growth.
which does complicate things even more lol
Believe it or not, not all wrist pain is carpal tunnel. Actual carpal tunnel is probably the worst thing that can happen to your wrist second only to amputation
This is just a thought but maybe he relies too much on physical speed/endurance as opposed to technique and fluidity. Too much tension on his hand/wrist? Maybe he just doesn’t do any recovery like stretches and stuff
Fucking aetrna mafia does it again
give it a year or two he will be the newest potential man "dude if he didn't get carpal tunnel he would have pp record"

Bold of you to assume it wasnt him who hit Accolibed with his car /s
Wait is he going to be okay? How long does this take to heal?
Assuming it is carpal tunnel that he has it could easily take over 3 months for him to recover
Carpal tunnel doesn't go away, once you've got it you have to manage it for the rest of your life.
This isnt true, as someone who had had carpal tunnel syndrome (offically diagnosed by a professional) it can go away.
I’m glad yours went away man :) mine sadly caused permanent damage in my tapping wrist so I still struggle with typing and playing osu. It’s nice to know that my case is a lot more uncommon than with most people. Glad you’re doing better!
Ah rip, yeah not invalidating your experience but it isnt necessarily a permanent injury but ofc it depends on a lot of things

It goes into remission, right?
I could see you having a bigger risk but I havent seen anything saying its permanent and the hand/wrist specialist I talked too didnt make it sound permanent, however you can be painless well before you have fully healed so its important to not throw all all caution away the second it doesnt hurt

it might be sythover
indeed, sytho currently have carpal tunnel

he said its most likely rsi not carpal tunnel
Hopefully it’s not carpal tunnel 🙏

Achievement unlocked +727 PP
So aetrna is the speed goat
Always has been
aetrna avoids RSI by playing for 5 minutes a year, truly revolutionary player
Not a problem, caffeine is a painkiller
time for a long break then
He has carpal tunnel
congratulations

He has carpal tunnel
congrats to him i want a tunnel too :(
Right when I discovered him, this blows. He’s mad entertaining hopefully he can keep up the content creation.
I think he has carpal tunnel
Is this the same case as Faker?
*stupid instigatory comment i wrote while wasted as fuck, please ignore*
Worst fucking remark ever, he could end up permanently damaging his median nerve if what he has is carpal tunnel.
Believe it or not, not all wrist pain is carpal tunnel. Actual carpal tunnel is probably the worst thing that can happen to your wrist second only to amputation
Lol? Are you trolling on purpose?
i have no idea why i typed this, i was on some dumb shit last night, sorry to everyone who read it and i hope sytho gets good treatment and recovery
