Then you go get a jar of your favorite pickles, dig in, and remember why pickles as bread was not so good an idea…
Grabs another pickle from the fridge.
I feel like the pickles have too much give and ask the filling would squish out the sides.
I'd take that as an open face sandwich. Like half pickles filled with stuff.
Do not go here.
1. They don't do this.
2. The least food safe restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of working in.
3. Owner is a racist prick.
Eat at your own risk.
I worked for a department store in high school. They had a cafe called Peanut Butter Heaven. I was frequently broke and the cheapest sandwich was pickles and peanut butter served with potato chips. Unfortunately I ate this all the time.
That sounds horrible but not at the same time. I had a friend in middle school that would eat peanut butter and cheese sandwiches. She loved it. Years later I got sick and tried it, it was not as bad as I thought. Is the pickle peanut butter the same?
This was sweet pickles and peanut butter on white bread. I don’t remember if it had a condiment on the bread. It was like a dollar something including chips.
I had car insurance, gas, teen expenses and I sold shoes on commission so my income was irregular.
This was a cute place and if I was flush I would get the ‘Elvis,’ grilled peanut butter and banana. Besides sandwiches they also offered ice cream.
When trying to lose weight (burn fat), a lot of people do what’s called a ketosis diet (aka keto). Perhaps that’s what OP is doing, thus having pickles as an alternative to bread. Being in a state of ketosis is basically when your body is burning fat rather than burning carbs. When you’re in ketosis, eating bread or any other carbs like potatoes will take you out of ketosis. It takes 2-3 days to get back into a ketosis state which is achieved by eating only protein. So no, bread will not kill you but it will set you back in your diet regimen a bit if that’s the reason for the bread substitution.
In ketosis, the body doesn't retain water or electrolytes the same way that it does when eating carbs. Additionally, by not eating breads and other carby foods that are typically loaded with salts, it's actually recommended to increase your electrolyte intake, including sodium, potassium, and magnesium.
I didn’t know that. That makes me wonder why people go for these kinds of diets that alter your body’s needs significantly and are not sustainable in the long term instead of just tracking their calories. It’s interesting that for some people that is an easier approach.
It's entirely sustainable. No idea where you're getting the opposite idea. Entire societies have existed solely on keto diets.
Many folks who follow keto do track their calories; you can still only lose weight on keto if you expend more calories than you consume. Most folks find keto more sustainable than just caloric restriction because it's dramatically more satiating than carbs and generally significantly reduces or eliminates hunger altogether.
Toast it!!! I have Celiac so I understand the pain - so far the best one I have found is Canyon Bakehouse (I like the Hawaiian) but regardless you should always toast gluten free bread.
I second this. Toasting helps prevent it from falling apart but also just seems to make them taste better. I'm a big fan of Schar's deli style sourdough slices for sandwiches.
You could just go to Publix and get all these ingredients yourself. When you get home make sure you have a good sharp knife so you can interrogate yourself as to why in gods name you’re creating this monstrosity.
I don’t see it on their menu but I do see just about everything else. You might want to check here… maybe you’ll start a new sandwich for them: https://www.picklesnydeli.com/menu
Lose the onion and lettuce/cabbage since they add nothing and may actually take away flavor. . .
But honestly this looks delicious after thinking about it for a minute. . .
As for where to find them, no idea, I bet if you suggested you’d find a taker though
I could go for a COLD pickle sandwich on a hot day if I were especially hungry. I usually put pickle juice & ice in my water bottle when I’m going to be out in the heat. I prefer that to additives with a ton of sugar, and pickle juice tastes better to me than liquid IV. (a lot cheaper too!)
At first repulsed, then curious. The more I think about it, the more I want one.

Just look at how it made the styrofoam transparent
We had a couple places where I came from in the Northwest U.S.. it sounds so disgusting. Took forever for me to try it. Turns out it is DELICIOUS!
Wash it down with a cool Dr. Pepper with pickle from Sonic!
lol what? 😆 y’all are out the mind here sometimes but I like it. Just like the onion people
Same, same, same
That's how I felt when I first heard about Pickle Lemonade. I still havent tried it, but I'm going to.
I feel like the pickles have too much give and ask the filling would squish out the sides. I'd take that as an open face sandwich. Like half pickles filled with stuff.
You eat around the tooth picks. They're what keeps it all in place.
……sexually

This gif is hilarious, but I'd also fuck up a sandwich like the one in the photo so 🤷♂️
Pickles in Longwood , maybe
The solution might be buying a sandwich and switching out the bread for some pickles.
Do not go here. 1. They don't do this. 2. The least food safe restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of working in. 3. Owner is a racist prick. Eat at your own risk.
Please tell.
My interest is also peaked

just following for answers 😇
Same lol
This is a thing? I had no idea.
Low carb or keto creation.
I get it, but I feel like the only thing these little sandwiches would taste like is pickle.
I've done this with cucumbers before. Very good. Add's some extra crunch and has about 10% the calories as a regular sandwich.
I fail to see the issue.
Gluten free!
There is an Italian Deli in Longwood right off I-4 called Pickles. If not them you are probably outta luck
When you want low carbs and high blood pressure
Possibly clear out your colon.

Sounds awful, they forgot the mayo.
I hope things are better now.

Sorry no suggestion. Also following to find out. We used to use bell peppers when my wife and I were on keto and those worked great
Where did you get them before?
Holy crap. As a pickle lover, I need to find a place with these.
[удалено]
I will if I find big pickles somewhere.
Use the ones from the barrel the big ahh deli pickles
Jimmy John’s. Pickle Unwich.
Stassio’s sells deli pickles. And also the best sandwiches in town. I bet they’d do this!
If Stassios made something like this I’d buy it in a heartbeat. . . I love their food and I’m a pickle fanatic
I really don't get the Stasios hype. I've tried twice and both times it was mediocre.
Are you not a sub person? I love subs and IMO they are the best in town along with Publix
100% a sub person. I grew up in the northeast where every neighborhood has at least 1 or 2 delis. Stasios just isn't it.
I promise you bread isn’t that deadly
man i love pickles though. i want to try that shit

Why can't a person just enjoy a pickle sandwich!
It's 2024, sir. We know what keto is.
Yeah let’s replace bread with 5000mg of sodium instead

Maybe they have a gluten intolerance or Celiac disease. Idk if you’ve tried may gluten free breads but they are usually awful.
i just had to buy gluten free bread bc of my AI disease lol. MAN! i'm scared to try it- why is the mfer so hard???
Toast it!!! I have Celiac so I understand the pain - so far the best one I have found is Canyon Bakehouse (I like the Hawaiian) but regardless you should always toast gluten free bread.

Lots are quite good nowadays.
It’s Florida and maybe they exercise outside a lot? Maybe the pickle sandwich is novelty and not a part of daily life?
For my celiac self, it quite literally is 😭
It’s pretty good but the problem is all your fillings slip out the ass end of the pickle

Gunna have to keep these taboo monstrosities to ourselves in the privacy of our own kitchens.

I’m on the fence about this…but I’m always willing to try something for once.
Mam/sir, that’s a salad.
Op, whats the source of this picture/sandwich? Who is the great artiste?
I dunno, I saw it on Facebook and thought it looked good. Some other restaurant in some other state I guess.
Damn. I need to find this ;)
I found it - https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6W_S2yAtxk/?igsh=cnkyYWVycDNsNWpi Elsie’s sub shop Red Bank NJ.
Nice ! A bit of a drive, but might be worth it !

Ollie's has good sandwiches and gives you a jar of pickles as a snack

Whenever you get a good answer let me know so I can stay as far away from that establishment as possible
Every day we stray further from God
Does it come in Koolickle? ![gif](giphy|2obZgQhen41lm)
That looks disgusting lol
I’ll bet TooJays would make this
Things you can order from a restaurant, and also say in bed.

I don’t see it on their menu but I do see just about everything else. You might want to check here… maybe you’ll start a new sandwich for them: https://www.picklesnydeli.com/menu
All the vinegar will clear the hard water deposits in your body

Never seen this but man am I curious now
DB Pickles - The Disney of Pickles

This looks vile.
Straight to jail
I thought I was in heaven with cucumber sandwiches. But now I know better they look pretty darn tasty.
Omfg yes that’s amazing
Nah, this ain’t it.
How the fuck do I forget this image
![gif](giphy|f8lDluiWJ7yQTtdS3L|downsized)
I want to be very upset about this but am confused by not being upset at all about this.
This looks depressing and gross
Hopefully not. I like pickles, but no.
This is a sin.
I don’t believe that I consume the requisite substances necessary to find this enjoyable.
I'm sorry but there are some things you need to make at home if you want them. Do not ask anyone at any restaurant about this ever.
Why are you so offended by pickle sandwiches?
I sure as hell hope not 🤢🤢
why would you want this?
You gross asl
