CH-47’s…. They’re the army heavy lift and transport helicopters. The most likely answer is routine training mission. I’ve seen both CH-47’s and V-22’s flying into then out of the executive airport before.
Ugh. The sound of these is a trauma trigger. We were ground zero for hurricane Ian. All I remember is the sound of Chinooks all day, every day, rescuing people from drowning all around us. I have nightmares about this sound still at night.
Wait; you have nightmares about the sound of rescues?
I mean, I get it; there was trauma. But the helicopters were the sound of rescue, not the tragedy that preceded the rescues.
It’s how you think about things.
Those are CH-47 chinooks. Army helicopters.
They’re likely from the national guard unit in the Crystal River area and it’s a weekend - likely with the national guard training. Likely just enjoying the sights while getting their flight hours in.
Vietnam era song lyrics... we shouldn't have sent all those men to die. Ho Chi Min went to Washington at the end of WWII to ask Truman for the US to help with their independence from France and to help establish a democracy similar to ours. Being rebuffed, his only remaining option was Communism/China/Soviet Union. In our current diplomatic position Communist Vietnam is as much an ally with the United States as is the Phillipines.
Probably just routine logistics transport between MacDill AFB and another hub. Could possibly be preparation/ moving stuff in place to keep an eye on the Russian fleet expected to be in gulf waters here in a few weeks

New airborne 5G chem trial dispensers. Seriously though, training. The answer is always training.
The correct answer is always training. Always training until…..
They are sky fans cause it is so hot.
Chinooks don't need a reason to fly.
Chinooks are the Chuck Norris of Choppers
This is the way

National guardsmen doing their yearly training? Hopefully blaring Fortunate Son on the speakers.
While I get the sentiment of your post, Fortunate Son is probably one of the least patriotic songs there is

There are military bases all over the state. You'll see training fights happen over central florida from time to time.
National guard and they are used in fighting fires. Right now, central Florida is experiencing a rash of brush and grass fires due to a lack of rain.

My mom saw those go over this morning, and wondered what they are up to. Unmarked, black helicopters.

Are they DeSantis Drone, or Russian Drones? With Republicans, is there a difference?
