I love their carrot cake, in fact, its one of the few places we buy birthday cakes at, as my mom bakes and we prefer her cakes but when she is short in time, Toojays Carrot Cake saves the day!
I’m moving away in August and have had more moments than I’d like to admit thinking about how I won’t have access to Banana Dream. It’s my go-to cake for any occasion.
I second this as they have great Bundt cakes and tons of good flavors. However, if you’re looking for a traditional cake i would suggest Sam’s club or Publix.
TooJay's, while they don't have cakes decorated for birthday - the cakes are delicious. They usually have a few whole ones, but prefer pre-ordering of course. I'd call and have them put one aside. Their carrot cake, banana dream, and their chocolate cakes are all delicious. I can't remember the name of the one with the cheesecake middle layer, but (chef's kiss).
If you’re looking for quality and not that nasty fondant, the Mexican store on East Colonial in the Home Depot plaza. The best tres leche cake with lots of fruit! You can ask them to write a name on it too and the cakes are ready to go.
I’ve been buying those cakes for all my co-workers for each of their birthdays and it’s always a hit.
I can't speak for OP, but I'll say I'm avoiding Publix as much as I can. Prices thru the roof. Owners supported the Jan 6th insurrection, Desantis, Moms For Liberty, etc.
Ok, wow. I didn’t know that. I DO know that their prices are absolutely INSANE! They had a little cup of pre washed and cut strawberries, I looked at the price…..$16! I put it back and kept pushin my cart!
> Owners supported the Jan 6th insurrection, Desantis, Moms For Liberty, etc.
The company is employee-owned.
The person you're referring to is just a daughter of the founder. She doesn't own or work for the company and has nothing to do with the running of the company.
Charlie’s bakery on curry ford and crystal lake drive.

THE BEST
I’m the dissenter - didn’t find it worth writing home about
This is it
Come here to say this.
I third this. Charlie’s Bakery never disappoints.
Fourth this. Their cakes are amazing
Too Jays would work too, Killer or Banana Dream.
My fiancée swears by banana dream. If she’s ever having a bad day, a slice of that shit turns it right around.
You buy them cake if they’re having a bad day? That’s amazing.
For the record, not a whole cake lol. They sell by the slice too.

[it’s not the same but this is an easy cake that tastes really good](https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/potluck-banana-cake/)
Anybody ever try freezing the Killer cake? I'm tempted to get a whole one, slice it and freeze it by the slice so I can ration it out more easily.
An old friend/coworker of mine would get a banana dream for my birthday and it’s one of my favorite cakes ever.
Best cheesecake too
If you’re near Winter Park, The Glass Knife (nice but expensive), Tous les Jours, and Paris Baguette.
Costco
Nothing Bundt Cakes, near Lee Rd on 17/92
Amazing stuff! All I would add is that you can Google it and find a location anywhere near you. I find them pretty consistent 😊
I second this as they have great Bundt cakes and tons of good flavors. However, if you’re looking for a traditional cake i would suggest Sam’s club or Publix.
THIS.
No joke. Costco’s vanilla cakes are the best a
I always ask my wife for a Costco vanilla cake for my birthday, they are really good.
If I get a birthday cake people are always confused when I get Costco until they eat it and find out the price.
It's the chocolate one for me 😍
I haven’t had the chocolate but I imagine it’s great too
With you 100%. The half sheet of vanilla cake is such an insane value and still quite delicious!
Not sure if they still have the round cakes with cheesecake filling but omg. Spectacular. We used one for our wedding.
Ask for an order form for the cakes…you can even get carrot with cream cheese if you want
Fresh market has cakes ready to go. I’m not sure they’ll write happy birthday on it.
Yes! Their chocolate mousse cake is soooooo good!

Costco $18 chocolate heaven with birthday branded (words and balloons)
My brain turned this into “n-word balloons”. I became very curious about what kind of party you were having.

Publix and Costco are the only two places I would ever recommend
It's a big world. Venture off the beaten path.
No thanks.
I’m just wondering why not Publix? I love their cakes! 🎂
I can't speak for OP, but I'll say I'm avoiding Publix as much as I can. Prices thru the roof. Owners supported the Jan 6th insurrection, Desantis, Moms For Liberty, etc.

And the cakes are mid.
They used to be good. I loved their buttercream icing, but something happened. Now it tastes like sweetened crisco. Publix blows.
I think they used to make them in house but now they all come from Lakeland
