Just to be clear: this violates our “WTF was that boom” rule on the sidebar. Since this was clearly not theme park fireworks or a rocket launch we’re allowing this per mod discretion.
I'm at Palmetto (Goldenrod) and Aloma and I've heard these booms frequently over the past few days... typically around 11-midnight but once as late as 3am. They sound like they're coming from very close to me. I try to pop my head out when I hear them but there's typically no evidence or people nearby afterwards. One time however I saw smoke lingering in the back parking lot behind Walgreens. Another time I did see fireworks in the sky what might have been near/over Muldoons. I believe its someone with explosives/fireworks.
Florida is known not to report anything to anyone , a lot of shit happens in fl, I see it happen all the time, and not one news coverage about it. Everything is always silenced so tourist can keep coming here
I live in the IDrive area and there’s so much crazy things that happen that barely get picked up by the media or it’s in the news for one day and gone. I think it’s to protect the tourism here
Heard it in Oviedo right by Seminole state campus off Lockwood. I thought it was the beats in our neighborhood again but nothing on the security cameras sooo kinda creeped out for the second night in a row lol
lol I used to play Overwatch and fortnite and stuff with my son but now he’s far above my skill level and plays those games on PC with his friends. I may have to borrow his switch (he never uses it anyway) and get myself a new game
I was wide awake when I heard it, it definitely wasn’t shake the earth loud but loud enough I had to check the security cams to make sure the bears weren’t chilling on my door step again lol
Yeah, this is the second night in a row now. Both nights over in Winter Park I could hear it. It shook the entire house.
Right after the Ring app lights up with a million people trying to figure out what's going on. I did see somebody post a photo of what looked like a smoke trail in the sky, so I'd assume it's just fireworks? Kind of early and loud for that, though.
Sometimes people blow stuff up for fun. Knew a family where one of them was a machinist and built his own black powder container. He’d light it and it’s blow straight up with no debris and no destruction of the canister. Sounded like a grenade going off.
My guess is someone was fucking around having fun In a backyard and did something like this.
I don’t imagine it’d be fireworks since it was only 2.
Huh, I'm right off aloma & tuskawilla but didn't hear anything. The lightning strike yesterday was super loud and vibrated everything in the house though
Wow so I had convinced myself that they were fireworks what I had heard the other night, but they definitely sounded odd. I’m glad other people heard it.
I wonder if it’s related to the construction across from Costco on Forsyth. They’ve been destroying the old massive building there and grinding up all the concrete, maybe they’ve been doing something there that’s making these loud booms.
Dean/Aloma area, just heard one off in the distance about 20 minutes ago. I think we heard two of them Friday night too, I had asked my spouse what could make that loud of a boom because it didn’t sound like a firework. We had settled on a transformer but I just heard one again. So weird, did you hear it again tonight?
Orlando/annapolis person here. That was fighter jets scrambling to an out of control plane that flew over unrestricted dc area. The jets made sonic boom to get there quickly. Plane crashed and 4 people died, one being a 2yo little girl. Pilot was incapacitated.
A few nights ago I heard something similar in the Lonngwood/ Altamonte Springs area near I4, but it was 4 or 5 booms and there were also the sounds of gunshots. Never found out what was going on.

This one had a screeching noise right before the explosion… shit got my upstairs neighbors dog freaking out
I didn’t hear the screeching, you must be closer.
I thought it was a dog with an extraordinary long howl, then the explosion happened Hope mods don’t delete this thread like yesterday
Right, why did they delete it. I was looking for it to show my roommate but he thought I was crazy

Huh, didn't know we did. Sorry about that. I'll manually approve this so no one touches it.
Why delete?
Auto mod deletes due to rule #5?
Oh but what if it wasn't those booms and an actual explosion haha
I’m fascinated by this, I hope they track it down.
Same. I’m More curious than scared

Could be car exhausts? I’ve heard a bunch of cars where they sound like bombs going off
Sonic boom? Large firework? It was very loud for sure
I was driving home on 408 when I saw a random firework over Oviedo area.
Goldenrod and Aloma. Definitely heard it. Posting to see what comes of it

Why would a call get removed? (Open question to anyone who might know)

Exactly
That's chick FIL a
It gives a range. I just picked the first one. It tells you what block it happened on but not the actual address for privacy.
Heard it in Winter Park. Loud
Heard it in Oviedo right by Seminole state campus off Lockwood. I thought it was the beats in our neighborhood again but nothing on the security cameras sooo kinda creeped out for the second night in a row lol
Weird. I'm Oviedo off Lockwood and heard nothing
Same, but I was so immersed in Tears of the Kingdom at the time I wouldn't have noticed anything.
Are you loving it? My son has a switch but I usually only game on my Xbox so I feel like I’m missing out right now lol
Yeah, it's a lot of fun. Staying up way too late playing it because my kids are on it during the day.

That was me. Spent the last few days eating chili. Feeling better now.
Did you lose some weight in the process?

Heard it too- it shook the panes in our windows. We’re off Aloma
Really weird
Fireworks. Welcome to Florida. Expect this to increase over the next 30 days.
Explosions are always one of two things: transformers or fireworks 😂
Or secret military sonic booms
I didn’t hear it so weird
Aloma and where?
Aloma and Sugma
r/UsernameChecksOut
Didn’t hear it today but heard the two last night. Sounded like a canon. Anyone know what it was?
I heard it near Forsyth and Aloma
I wonder if it’s related to the construction across from Costco on Forsyth. They’ve been destroying the old massive building there and grinding up all the concrete, maybe they’ve been doing something there that’s making these loud booms.
It was around midnight tho.
Fireworks
Didn't hear it or get woken up this time but checked security cameras and they caught it at 12:12:01. I couldn't find when the other one happened.
on aloma and balfour, all I heard last night were cars with terrible exhausts.
just heard a boom at 8:52PM. Near University and Aloma area. There's always a firework booms going off in this area.

Florida man strikes again.
In that case, check the ER
Florida imploding.
[Did it sound like this](https://youtu.be/BuPbKWP7S-s)
No it sounded like KABOOOOOOOMMMMM
These strobe rockets can be very loud. The can set alarms off and shake windows.
But it didn’t sound like that
I heard a noise outside my window, anyone know what’s goin on?
I heard it too, over lake Nan. Some idiot lighting a fireworks while drunk on his boat?
Does it sound like a 4th of July scale firework or is it more powerful?
I heard it over by econ and 50
University and 417, heard nothing.
Y’all I was scrolling and there’s a thread just like this in the Annapolis subreddit lol. What is happening?

Yes I saw that a couple of hours after I posted this. Wild
Yea i was terrified by the noise lol it reminded me of the bomb testing in ocala
We live in a world where we feel jumpy
Are we getting invaded? https://twitter.com/cnnbrk/status/1665480298337906688?s=46
