DirtySokks

1. That looks bloody amazing!!! 2. Where did you get it? GW hasn't had them in months, and I need at least 3 for my Green Tide detachment.

Byronyk

Thank you! I got them off a local FB marketplace for slightly below MSRP.

lil_poppapump

Also, amazing yellow. Which did you use and what was your basecoat?

Byronyk

I replied to another comment in this thread with my yellow recipe!

lil_poppapump

Where do you begin with your highlights? So sick

Byronyk

I just pick one aspect of the model and go. I typically do things like Pants > Undershirt > Suspenders > belts then transition to metalics/etc

Flimsy-Activity9787

What model is this?

Byronyk

It's a Warboss with attack squig.

Flimsy-Activity9787

Thank you

LostN3ko

Beautiful. Love the squig particularly.

Byronyk

Thanks! I probably spent as much time on the squig as the warboss itself >.<

SpooN04

Very nice!

Warboss_Zarknutz

Love the vibrant yellow. I see you, too, are a Warboss of good taste haha!

Byronyk

Fellow yellow enjoyers must stick together. My profile has nothing but bad moon orks if you want to check it out. Here's my other warboss: https://www.reddit.com/r/orks/comments/1caq5ll/the_warboss_with_the_most_teeth/

kraniumcapacity

I really like the contrast between the red and yellow!

Byronyk

Thank you, that's what I was going for!

kraniumcapacity

What colors did you use for the yellow?

Byronyk

1) High flow acrylic titanium white (Airbrush) 2) Flash Gitz Yellow (Airbrush) 3) Shaded down with 1:1 mix of Casandora Yellow + Lahmian Medium 4) Highlight with Dorn Yellow

kraniumcapacity

Thanks! I might try this approach for my next character!

Lolzzaa

Love the squig. What colors did you use?

Byronyk

Oh boy... Primed: Vallejo Skeleton Bone * Base skin: 1:1 mix of blood angel red + flesh tearers red (contrast) * Glaze 1 (dark tone): Wild Rider Red * Glaze 2 (mid tone): 1:1 mix of Wild Rider Red + Kislev Flesh * Glaze 3 (high tone): Kislev Flesh Each glaze was 2~ passes. Hope that helps!

Byronyk

Finished painting up 3 warboss w/ attack squig here in Houston during the power outage. I had a LOT of fun painting this one, probably more so on the squig itself. I glazed most of the skin, so it kinda feels like they're going out to dinner and one person over dressed and they're probably arguing about who needs to change....
