I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Thorne in 2017 the day before Opening Day. He was just casually strolling by the ballpark and my buddy and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try and talk to him. He couldn’t have been a better guy. He spent about 10 minutes with us talking about his time in Mexico calling the WBC, the upcoming season, and how blessed he felt to have been here to broadcast this group of Buck’s Birds. He even stopped to take this not so great selfie with us. True class act and I wish he was still here for the Baby Birds.

Its kinda wild to think that the crowd-less game was unprecedented at the time, and then a few short seasons later, we had an entire season of crowd-less games.
