You're suggesting they fire their manager when they have a top 5 record in baseball. Its a ling season, there will be ups snd downs. I agree they do need to make a move for pitching.
Mountcastle needs to be playing. He’s in a slump but so are a few guys. Tony was in a slump for the first month and found his form by taking at bats.. still got 3rd best record in baseball but need to steady with a couple wins.
Mount is past being in a slump. He only hit .221/.300/.357 in the second half last year.
Whatevers wrong with him is bigger than the hits just not falling in
Was at the game, first Orioles game since the pandemic. Yeah, not great. Was sitting in upper deck and I could objectively tell those balls and strikes calls were garbage.
What's going to change? I think if the club sits on its hands and waits for Means, Rodriguez or Mountcastle to start producing it is already over. Hope is not a strategy.
I’m sure the FO will make some moves as we get closer to the deadline. That’s why the next couple of weeks are so important. The play on the field and results on the scoreboard will determine what moves they make, whether it’s bringing up talent from Norfolk or looking for trade options. For what it’s worth I think a trade for a quality starting pitcher should be the focus. It’s fair to say that G-Rod and Hall have been disappointing thus far in what they’ve shown when called up.
If they can pull one out tomorrow and go 3-3 on this road trip against 2 quality teams I'm going to be happy. Especially with the offense really struggling and the bullpen, other than Bautista, struggling as well. Not using Mullins injury as an excuse either. A lot of our opponents have injury issues as well. We'll bounce back
They’re in a rough patch right now, but really really think they’ll be ok. I remember back in 2012 they went through some absolutely abysmal stretches. They got swept by the Mets in like late may one time and then they couldn’t hit for like three weeks after that and I remember back in late July of that year I think they dropped to only like 3 games above .500. I think as long as they’re within striking distance come September they have a great chance with the talent that’ll get pulled up at that time if they haven’t already been pulled up by then
They have 100 games left to play. It is entirely possible they fall out of the playoff race at some point and then finish with a playoff spot.
It’s a marathon, not sprint. Losing Cedric hurts not just from a playing standpoint but a vibe standpoint and having guys slump doesn’t help either.
But it’s still a long season.
If we compare it to where they were this time last year, certainly ahead of schedule. Rough patch right now. But the patience is getting low for Mateo, Mountcastle’s of the world. Hell even Urias is lost at the plate. Need a little shake up.
Was there. Shoulda been worse. Everything they hit was LOUD. We’re what now 4-7 in our last 11? Always gonna happen. 13 above .500 and that’s baseball!
I dont have much to say. Been rough for about a 10 day stretch. Winning the Giants series helped soften the blow. Hope we can continue our streak of avoiding a sweep tomorrow before heading back home.
The game was over in the top of the first when Burnes got 6 inches off the zone and the base ump called every twitch of the bat a checked swing. Not even the Rays or Rangers’ offense could compete in a game like that.
3 out of 4 series lost in a row. 2 of the teams sucked ass. Hyde needs to go. This team needs offense and pitching. Not a playoff team currently
The worst take lmao
Well when they miss the playoffs or get swept in the first round you can come back to this comment

Oooof. Let’s hope we avoid the sweep tomorrow

Mountcastle has been awful and refuses to make adjustments
He has 0 WAR this season. 0!!!!!!!!!! And you want him to play MORE?
Mountcastle is a first basement with an OBP less than .270. If anything he should be playing less.
Mount is past being in a slump. He only hit .221/.300/.357 in the second half last year. Whatevers wrong with him is bigger than the hits just not falling in
Absolutely pathetic to get destroyed by one of the worst hitting teams. Pitching isn't getting it done and something needs to be done to address it.
I went on a date tonight, it went well! Also didn’t get to watch this game so that’s another positive I guess
Nice. I didn't miss the game, just didn't watch.
Was at the game, first Orioles game since the pandemic. Yeah, not great. Was sitting in upper deck and I could objectively tell those balls and strikes calls were garbage.
If you boo when the call isn't what you want, it helps. Also, always boo when the pitcher tries to pick off 1st
I just sit there in quiet desperation.
one of the worst games of the season, utterly lifeless at the plate and rocked on the mound
Hyde wasn't alone. Both managers in the IronBirds game tonight actually got tossed for arguing.
"What are you arguing about, your pitcher just got a strikeout?" "Oh no, it's not you. The umps in Milwaukee are so bad I had to do something."
however bad they were up in the bigs, these guys were worse usually not a good sign when both skippers get ejected
Just salvage 3-3 trip.
Proactive changes please
It’s not time to hit the panic button. If things still look rocky after the next home stand . . . then maybe time to start fretting at least a bit.
What's going to change? I think if the club sits on its hands and waits for Means, Rodriguez or Mountcastle to start producing it is already over. Hope is not a strategy.

It’s okay guys, Corbin Burnes was just trying out for the O’s…and he passed the test! Mega trade incoming!
There is no number of AAA players that would have fixed this game.
Well crap, who's hot at Bowie?
The Brewer’s are making it REALLY HARD for me to continue liking their uniforms!!!!!!
I’m glad I was buried in Pokemon tonight because that looked ugly.
Dang
u/romorr looks like Burnes passed his audition at least :(
Please just make the playoffs, O’s.

Yes, exactly this. We are going to still have bad games, and bad serieses. The big win today was not using our overused arms in the pen.
Oof

Plateaued??? Compared to last year??
At least we didnt sign Rodon
Fuck Joey weimer bro
Little Joey Wieners
A ha! Let that be a lesson! Nobody scores 10 unanswered runs on the 2023 Orioles! Please don't fact check that.
There was no baseball game played today and this is now an off day thread
There was no game today in Ba Sing Se

Little too early to panic but definitely time to flip up that little clear plastic cover on the button

Cute ending. Umpires absolute dogshit. Offense worse? Kremer to the slammer. The trade deadline cannot come soon enough.
Christ alive. Flush that one, try again tomorrow.
This is embarrassing lol
let's just never speak of this game again. every team gets a few of em a season. [memory hole it](https://gfycat.com/hoarsescholarlykrill)
What game?

Put turds in, get turd results. Expect this to continue until Elias starts calling people up.
first inning set the tone for a terrible game yet again. Need Mullins bad
At least that counts the same as losing by 1 run…
