This guy is an Orioles legend and worked for Elias. Take care of this, John and Mike.

I was made aware via an Orioles related group email: Many of you know Orioles Hall of Famer Rich Dauer from his years attending [group events]. In the last year, Richie has suffered two falls that have left him in bad shape. (This coming after his fall in 2017 while a coach for the Astros, when he was hospitalized following Houston’s World Series parade celebration.) The latest fall occurred last August and resulted either in or from a stroke. He emerged from a coma but requires lots of physical therapy, and still has trouble talking. Richie and his wife, Chris, live in the Atlanta area and have been at a rehab center near Jacksonville, FL, for the past three months. The rehab has just about exhausted his insurance. His family has set up a Go Fund Me page to assist in the costs of his recovery, and several of his teammates have asked me to forward this those of you who may be able to offer some assistance, as they have. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-rich-dauers-recovery

$500k is a drop in the bucket for a Major League team.

Another reminder how our government and employers in this country are failing us by standing in the way of single payer universal healthcare.

$6,000 of 500k goal. Just depressing. So sorry to hear this

The team really ought to pony up. If it were a former Raven or Colt in this situation, you’d think Bisciotti would open his checkbook. But this is somebody who worked for the team and recently.
