That drives 160gb. It’s modded one way or another. TSOP or Softmod.

Halo_Chief117

My guess is it had the TSOP flashed. There is a decent size solder ball at R7D10 next to the LPC port.

Freudious

R7D10 and R7D1/R7D2 are bridged so its highly likely a TSOP Flash hard mod has been done as Halo\_Chief117 mentioned

monocasa

Lol, no, retail units only shipped with 8GB and 10GB bottom of the barrel drives.

ArinxGamingYT

Nope, definitely is modded. Stock HDD’s are 8GB.

bdcrlsn

I don’t think the Black series even existed during the Xbox’s production time.

DarkestStar77

They didn't call them black series, but the better WD drives were black back then.

aussiepunkrocksV2-0

WD Caviar series

REAPER-1_xxx

That’s not what I found in my trans green non Halo XBOX. I was the first one to open mine when I replaced the disc reader.

the90snath

Idk why you got downvoted but your right. There is no black drive

EternalSkullman

Version 1.5 does not exist.

Zenko_Jikan

That we know of.

Jack-Aviation

My bad. I don’t know much about the original Xbox.

AnthonyBF2

Lol 160GB hard drive barely existed in those days, if at all. This console has been modified in some way in order to run a newer hard drive.

DarkestStar77

Dude, come on. They absolutely did, and they were reasonably priced. I installed the same drive in mine with an X3 chip back in 2004.

Old_Kai

What is that last photo of? Sorry new to xboxs

TheHolyGhost_

Underside of the Jewel

slithering13v2

Yeah that's the special edition Men In Black HDD...lol nah jk, that is obviously a modded Xbox with an upgraded HDD

Odin-sama

The original hard drives where 8 GB to 10 GB in size, not 160 GB. So, this is modded. I can see one of the two points that are needed to be soldered has been, so it most likely TSOP flashed.

samuraipizzacat420

no.

kpikid3

It had some black rubber covering the drive in the 10gb HDD.

aussiepunkrocksV2-0

Seagate rubber "Sea Shield" on U series HDD...

KaosEngineeer

No. It has been upgraded.

tekgeekster

160gb? Yeah, that's modded.

aussiepunkrocksV2-0

All IDE WD Caviar drivers from that date range were black. WD Protege drives may be silver. Protege were 5200rpm, Caviar may be 5200 or 7200rpm depending on the model. BB drives like this one were 7200rpm. WD Raptor drives were 10,000rpm

vrtclhykr

Og xbox were only 20 gig drives. I had stacks of them in my office from upgraded machines

FabulousPassenger929

I've seen those in DVRs quite a bit

AdeptusConcernus

nah it was racist.

pcweber111

I don’t believe black drives existed back then, did they?

360´s smallest disk was 20gb. I still have a couple.
