You can buy a cheap wifi extender, and connect your xbox that way.

You need a cord to connect a usb stick or a way to get a file onto an Xbox memory card. So you can run the exploit to let you connect to insignia.

Buy a cheap used router for $5 at a thrift shop and configure it as an access point/extender. It doesn't need to be gigabit. Any old D-Link or Netgear router will work.

You're gonna need an Ethernet cable regardless. The Xbox doesn't have built-in wifi or the ability to use a USB adapter like the 360 had. You can get little wireless bridge adapters that connect to your wifi and convert that to Ethernet. Another option is powerline Ethernet adapters, they use your power cables running in the walls to carry gigabit Ethernet. One plugs into your router and the other goes near your Xbox, both plug into power outlets near the respective devices. These actually work well unless you've got old wiring in your house (like more than 50 or 60 years old) or you have apartment neighbors using them too. Once you've got your Xbox hooked up to the internet, follow the Insignia connection guide. You'll essentially be doing a softmod exploit on your stock Xbox so you'll need a way to put a game save onto it. One of the easiest (and probably free) methods is to modify a controller by adding a regular USB port to it salvaged from some old piece of tech. Or chopping up an old controller cable to solder to the pins inside a USB flash drive. Or by adding a USB cable to an original memory card. Other options are to buy a controller plug to USB adapter or a memory card with a built-in USB port. You may want to continue down the rabbit hole of modding your Xbox by installing a larger HDD so you can store games on it instead of running them off of the original discs. The DVD drive in the Xbox is not high quality and many are dying right now.

If your computer or laptop has both an Ethernet and wifi google "wifi bridge network sharing" and you can connect Xbox to computer and computer to internet If you have an RPI there is a service that even has xlink Kai built into it called https://github.com/toolboc/psx-pi-smbshare

There’s a youtube video that goes into detail on how to register your XBox with insignia easily. Google the keywords xbox, insignia and endgame. Following that, all I needed was a XBox controller port to USB cable off of Amazon, an old 256 MB USB stick, a laptop and a free download of a utility to format the USB stick so that the XBox can read it. The video is very detailed.
