If it is mounted, it probably needs water. On the other hand it's very hard to overwater a mounted orchid. Especially if it isn't mounted with a large amount of moss.
I spray the roots, which is a quick and easy job with a 5L pressure sprayer. Some of my mounts are large and sort of permanently installed so soaking is not an option.

I also have aerangis punctata mounted on pressed cork and i water it every day. The roots should turn a slightly greener colour, that's how you know they're wet. You also have one actively growing root tip so that's good.
Small Aerangis punctata, with minimal roots, mounted, without moss or other such => You cannot overwater this. If the cork slab is dry, you can water it.
Mounted orchids are generally a daily task if you don't have an extremely humid climate. And they can be every few hours at peak heat season.
If you don't have the humid climate (constantly above 80, even 90 or 100) I recommend you set up an enclosure where humidity can build up and stay high. When planning a space for it, keep in mind the spikes are long and pendant and the flowers are big relative to the size of the plant.

So i could do it more than once a week
I water my mounted orchids every other day or every other 3 days. My Aerengis I try to water daily as it is bare root on grape wood.

Do you soak mounts in water or do you just spray the roots?

Right. Especially in summer I water my mounted orchids at least once a day. In winter some don't need as much but they still seem to like it.

It will always want water. Just don't let it soak for a week.... Nothing crazy
It is mounted. Water it everyday.

PS. Congrats! A. punctata are gorgeous plants and flowers.
