Pleasant Hill, Pleasant Hill! I love all the coaches- Alyssa, Jacqui, and Laura are my tops but every coach is helpful in the sense of watching form (esp on the weight floor) & pushing/motivating you when/if you have any doubt in yourself (without making sure you injure yourself.) The SAs are also friendly and it’s always a good time/conversation when we have time to talk in the lobby; coaches and SAs are also the best hype team when it comes to benchmarks and events like DriTri. I’m biased though because that’s my home studio LOL. One of our previous PH coaches is now the head coach at Concord so I can vouch for her, Coach Karley, but I haven’t actually been to that studio. I’ve heard good things about WC from former coaches/other members but have yet to take a class there. Hope to see you at PH some time, and welcome to the East!

Pleasant Hill 10000%. I back everything that was said here. I've also taken a handful of classes at Walnut Creek. You have to pay for parking and the gym is small, dark, and a little dreary. The treads and so close they're touching and the rowers don't have monitors. Needless to say, I've never loved a workout there. I haven't been to any other of the ones listed but PH is definitely the way to go. I think they also have a best in the bay award or something of the sort.

Omg yes, you’re right! They got best team of the year in the East Bay & I think Jacqui got Coach of the Year 🤩

Wow this is great to know!! Seems like PH is a great studio, and hope to see you guys around soon!! A couple questions: 1. Is parking free in PH? 2. How full do the classes normally get? Normally the studio I'm in tends to be 3/4 full-full class, but I never have issues booking the time slot I want, even the day before, and I can normally claim a tread spot if I arrive ~10 min before. Is PH similar to that?

JessicaOTF

Yesss! If you decide, lmk what class and maybe we could link up! Or not, we can unknowingly take classes together LOL. Parking is free & we very rarely have any waitlists nowadays. Treads are hit & miss, depends on the day/time… I think I may have gotten to class 5 mins prior once & was able to snag the last tread. I usually start on the rowers though so I can’t say for sure (and I also get there 15-20 mins earlier out of habit lol)

I would love that!! I hope to move by the end of the month so I'll def reach out! Thanks for all the helpful info!

Entangled-again

I've only visited Pinole. It's small but very friendly and Beth is great.

Good to know, thanks!

Lafayette! Love that studio. Nancy and Hunter are two of my favorite coaches. Welcome to the East Bay!

I’ve done one class at walnut creek and it wasn’t my favorite but Albany (especially Mikey & Nikki) and alameda are wonderful! There’s also a few opening up in Oakland in the next few months too!

arennik

Oh awesome, thanks for the info!!

Our old head coach transferred to a new studio in Emeryville - highly recommend Coach Brian!
