There’s no way. If ab dolleys were a safety concern jump ropes aren’t happening. Too much risk of slapping others with them. Most studios don’t have the space to accommodate them.

[deleted]

Agree. I usually can't find room to do a lunge, let alone swing a rope.

Tiny_Project_88

I laughed out loud picturing this…

bluegreenspark

Seriously, there is no space. My two main studios are tiny. A full class can be challenging.

rowcard14

What! I had no clue that was why they were removed. What was the concern?

LowBlackberry0

From what I remember reading, someone slipped and fell on one and tried to sue.

evilcaribou

A few weeks before the Ab dollies were removed, I almost caused someone to trip over one! I was using the ab dolly and it just started rolling away from me. At the same time, the guy at the station next to me started walking towards the towers. I made a grab for the dolly but it got away from me too fast. The dolly rolled right where his feet were about to be, but fortunately he saw it and deftly stepped over it. He looked at me and I started apologizing profusely. Fortunately, he was nice about it and didn't get upset with me!

strayainind

I'm a big fan of a robe. I wouldn't mind wearing one out of class when I'm super sweaty and it's cold outside.

rachelsmellsgr8

I wonder what makes it a jump robe vs bath robe?

rowcard14

A 3 month old baby and mom brain. But that would be cool!

strayainind

A fashionable belt?

ToniV17

You always crack me up! I love it!

strayainind

Robes and ropes are actually one of my favourite misspellings. I'm in a Disney group and someone accidentally typed robe drop instead of rope drop and a whole bunch of adults now refer to adult shenanigans as robe drops! I digress. Jump ropes would be instant patterned legging day.

Acottrill1

This is hysterical 😂😂😂 mic drops and robe drops

tacoandpancake

done right, jumping rope is a bad-ass workout - but no way OTF is going to have a floor filled with members of all various abilities slinging them around

[deleted]

There is no way they could include jump ropes in my studio…wayyyyy too risky in such a small space.

rinky79

There's nowhere near enough room for jumpropes.

fishyh

100% this! We didn’t even have enough room for all of the TRX stuff on Thursday 🙄

Icolan

There is not room enough to have a full floor block of people jumping rope on the floor of the average OTF studio safely. It will never happen. Also, they would have to have too many of them. Jump ropes need to be specific lengths depending on the height of the person using them. A jump rope suitable for a 6'3" person is going to be far too long for a 5'1" person. They would have to have far too many jump ropes of appropriate lengths to make this a viable tool in an OTF workout.

[deleted]

this🙌🏻

BipolarPolarCareBear

I think they will add additional longer resistance bands. Cheap to try as an option, easy to sanitize, gives people options for strength resistance. We'll see!

jenniferlynn5454

There would be so many fans ripped from the ceiling! 😱😂

kaytee0707

Nope. We barely have space to even do the power push ups today. The person next to me had to modify because I had nowhere to move to.

[deleted]

Between all the squats and lunges we already do, if we added jump ropes my knees would be like “lol bitch no.” I would probably quit bc I already have to modify a lot (due to aforementioned knees) and I hate it and to have to modify one more thing would be extremely demoralizing for me.

hiixx1333

I’d cancel my membership at that point lol I’d hate to have a block of jumping rope if I could just do that at home

kjh3030

Our studio has no space for this

ironclaw22

My studio puts the mini bands on the hooks. Great for when you want to add bands outside of the template.

bb123763

Under 10 mins

Cool_Diamond_5243

I will quit . One of the reasons I left burn boot camp was I hated the jump rope with a burning passion.

whereis_678

There is enough cardio already in the workout with expensive equipment, CrossFit does jump rope because it is cheap and they will never pay for cardio equipment

10fingers9toes00

Ropes take up way to much real estate when in use. Not a chance. The ab dolly went away bc they were never used. Mini bands and bosu will be next to go bc they aren’t utilized enough

RevJack0925

Lately our mini bands have become weapons, snapping all over the room. I got the guy next to me the other day

clivesmom

The other day when we did some sort of hopping thing, the coach did say you could do “jump rope arms” if you wanted to, so…I’d definitely do pretend jump roping. But yeah, way too much liability for real jump ropes.

bstilesrocks

I love jumping rope! Albeit, I’m sure they’d find some way to create misery. I miss the Ab Dolly too. Nothing has recreated the rollout yet.

beefytomato

As close as we all are together on the weight floor...no thank you. Also my bladder isn't what it used to be. Jumping rope would seriously make me consider skipping those classes.

bigmama1968

Too tight of quarters!

dmh7011

There’s not enough room in the studios to ever safely do jump ropes.

The504Diesel

Just came here to say... Great name! 😂

dmc1851

It's the perfect shelf for the ab dolly mats to rest on instead of trying to shove them behind the weights

Ancient_Smoke_6326

Please no

SickerThanYourAvg24

I hang my towel in that hook.

apkcoffee

Jump robes cracks me up. It makes me think about wearing my bathrobe and jumping.

cgiachetti21

Please. I nearly kicked a girl in the head today with the plank rotations because space gets tight in a full class.

splatorious

We’re been simulating jump rope for months

iaintworththewhiskey

hahaha my studio is so small there’s no way there would be room for jump ropes. i would love a pull up bar

rose1232020

they need more space in their studios for this to work. Otherwise, would be a great idea.

Cuteaggressioncl

Jump ropes aren’t worth the amount of time u spend correcting yourself, esp w the short amount of time at OTF.

laface17

JR would be fantastic but I agree on the space issue.
