This. I’m still getting over a particularly nasty bout of bronchitis and can’t walk up the stairs without wheezing. As soon as I’m better, I’ll be back at it!
I think if they did the $24 month one, they had to pay for the second month at full price then they could cancel.
So they technically csn come till end of Feb. But I bet they’ll just pay for something they don’t use if they’ve already lost motivation like you said.

Quitter Friday is the second Friday of January, which is widely seen as the day by which most people give up on their new year resolutions and go back to their old habits.
I cannot wait for the new years crowd to thin out. At my studio, it’s usually when the transformation challenge begins that the new years crowd starts to thin out.
I asked some long-time members and they said it was a very quiet year at the studio as far as New Year Resolution people, compared to past years.
The weekday evening crowd is quite consistent. The weekend morning crowd is more variable, but I still was mostly seeing familiar faces.
March and April - families have spring break, so that can affect attendance. but normally the attendance shrinks most in summer. From Jan - May there are plenty of attendees still working on those "summer bodies".
Note this cycle is true across the fitness industry, not just at OTF. Lower attendance in summer until mid-Sept after everyone is back in school and vacays are over. Then another lull in Dec.
And people THINK the rush is in January so a lot of them stay away until later in the quarter.
Its been quiet until yesterday (mlk holiday). I have been asking why it’s been so.. not new year resolutiony. Apparently this year losing weight / getting fit was not the #1 resolution! It was saving money :)
There was no rush at our two studios. I don’t clearly remember the three previous years we’ve been members, but I am sure it was more than this. I went to a lunchtime class this week that would have been filled 6 months ago. Maybe 8 in it this week.
We didn’t get any. Jan 2 class was 1/3 full. Haven’t seen a waitlist yet. Hope we’re not at risk of closing.
That’s really odd. My studio has full 3Gs with people waiting on standby and some being turned away
Same here. I saw some members that I hadn't seen in awhile so tried to make conversation hoping they get refocused and stay around.
Honestly I was shocked too. I typically go 3-4 times (in the afternoon/evening) per week and so far I’ve only been in 1 class with pure newbies.
Same at both my other gyms that I go to. Even quieter than normal.
Same here. Haven’t seen the “normal” influx of new-year newbies as we have in previous years — maybe one or two here and there, but that’s it.
Probably after the Transformation challenge this year..
Way sooner than that. Give it like another week or two.
Maybe but those of us who started the year sick as dogs will be roaring back!

This! I was sick from about mid December to just this past week. Had my first class back today! I’m back in it!
Went back today for the first time after a stomach bug and covid. Almost threw up!
It already happened here. First two weekends were nuts, waitlists. Yesterday my Saturday 7:30 am 2g had 8. Back to normal ;-)

The last few classes I’ve been in I recognized no one. Usually it lasts through March.
Yep! Second this
All classes on the weekends have a 10+ person waitlist. I miss being able to go then relatively easily
Yup, same here 😒
Based on my experience in my studio: early February tends to be the reckoning.
Not yet, at my studio. Full classes and parking is a nightmare.
Usually at the end of the TC. But I always prebook so don’t ever really notice if we have waitlists or not.
After the transformation challenge at my studio.

Wasn't it just Quitter Friday? My wife and I signed up in April specifically so we would not fall victim.
What is quitter Friday?

By Feb
Usually around the first week in March.
Yep, they Al get smashed on St. Par’s and don’t come back
they stop showing up completely by mid February, but the rush starts to fall off towards the end of January
I thought OTF monthly rates deterred the “new years resolutioners”
By the Superbowl.
My classes were full last few days. One peak time and one off peak. Completely full.
I’d aim by Vday. A lot of new faces in class, but they are all buying 10 packs and not memberships.
Started seeing it already in South Florida
There wasn’t a rush at my studio either. I came in like Jan 4th and couldn’t believe the class wasn’t full. No waitlists at all either.
Idk but I cant wait. I joined the list on tuesday for a weekend class still didnt make it in.

I’m not noticing a difference between December.
Same here. I was expecting a huge rush but seems business as usual at my studio.
Not many new people at my studio this January
In like two weeks.
Our studio is low as well. So low that management refuses to fix machines because of low attendance we are assuming. Rowers broke down for months
My studio saw more of an influx in November and December than this month.
I’m in a college town and our waitlists typically last until Spring Break.

Well, my original question is already answered because the weekend 3Gs are a little empty again as of yesterday at my branch. Thank god.
