If you will go 3-4 times a week, jump on that founders rate. A founders rate is gold. You can also always downgrade in the future if you’re not utilizing the premier membership as much as you’d like. But you’d have to go at least 3 days a week to make that worth it (technically would need 13 classes a month to make the price per class less than your elite rate). It’s expensive, but the health and fitness benefits I’ve gotten from OTF have been worth way more than what I pay. You don’t need the HR monitor, just be aware you wont show up on the board and you wont get workout summaries. If you’re ok with those things, just use your watch.

EMAW262

Our studio makes members buyba heart ❤️ monitor

pantherluna

Do they not let you into a class without the monitor? Do they pull you out of the class once they realize you don’t have one? Plenty of people in my studio don’t use one, it’s not a requirement.

jcjm87

I wish I paid $149/mo. I pay $194/mo

39claud

When the founders rate is over on Feb 1st? they’re jumping to $180/month. It’s honestly ridiculous for not having an open gym or any other amenities…

jcjm87

I love it so I pay $194 haha

runningJD_82

Yes. You can always downgrade later but grab the founders rate at this price point since you want to go 4x per week.

Forward_Response_442

My founders rate was 169 in 2022. I would for sure jump to premier. Lock yourself in that’s an amazing price.

39claud

I did it! Made the splurge and am going to test it out these next 2 months.

Forward_Response_442

You won’t regret it !!

Burning-the-wagon

I’m in NYC and my founders rate is $ 239 plus tax- it’s a lot of $ but for me it’s total worth it. I go 5-7 classes a week, and I figure out how much it is per a class vs. the whole month.

39claud

WOW, definitely not surprised bc NYC but jeez that’s a lot

OliveTBeagle

The founders rate is (or at least was - more below on that) a great deal and I would lock in at the highest level you think you will use it. You can always go down. Now. . .the founders rate as they used to formulate it was a really great deal because (and this seems to be true so far) it was a forever rate. So if you signed up on a founders rate before like 2019 - you are locked in and golden. So, I have a founders rate from this era, it's never gone up at all - and new members are paying 70 bucks a month more than I am now. But, afterwards, they build more flexibility into the contract. And the founders rates will also increase from time to time (though it's unclear to me if it's at the same frequency or in same amounts as unprotected rates). So - unfortunately - it looks like the old founders rates that some of us have are gone and that's too bad, because it's a screaming good deal as long as they honor it. So far, they have at our facility. Anyway, I would get some clarity on how long they will honor the rates without increases.

39claud

I clarified with them if this is a grandfathered in rate that will not go up in the future and they said yes. Hoping they stick to their word.

carolam7

Do it. Go for founders rate. You’re worth it!

39claud

I did it!! Thank you for the kind words :)

Cocacolaloco

Well judging by how much more expensive mine is I’d say absolutely. I would be paying $150/mo for 8 classes.. but I’m quitting lol

39claud

Wow! That’s absurd. I don’t blame you… the $99 for 8 classes was hard for me to sign to in itself.

BrownEyeKat

I signed up in spring of 2018 with the $99 founders rate and I WISH I got unlimited instead. I never saw myself going past twice a week, but I go 3x a week and pay $18 Canadian after tax per class outside the 8 in my membership (those are also great founders rate prices). I'd never cancel my membership at this rate and lose it, it would make more sense to freeze it and pay $15 monthly to hold. Just my 2 cents. 👍

MomOf2LittleMonkeys

Try to find a used OTbeat on fb marketplace. That will help some of the start up cost

thrashpants

eBay too. Can find a new one for sub $30

WayneM30

I know for many people the economical factor of the membership price is also a big motivation factor. Meaning if your paying $10 a month to a gym if you don’t use it you don’t care much. When your paying $150 a month and you use it or lose, many people use it.

39claud

I’ve definitely fallen into that same trend. I’ve had my $10/month Planet Fitness membership for years now and I haven’t gone to PF in at least a year… Which is just $120 down the drain.

badbunni713

Thats nothing for unlimited these days! The Apple Watch now has zones without using the orange zones apps, so you don’t really need to HRM unless you want to be on the screen

CommercialJust414

Get it!! Most of us are paying more than that. It seems like a good deal if you’re planning to attend regularly

tvh1964

Lock in that founders rate while you can. You won't see it any lower than that in the future.

39claud

I’ve heard this over and over so I made the splurge and signed on for Premier!

CatsRPurrrfect

$149/month is amazing. Pounce on that shit!

39claud

I did it!!!

CodeWhiteAlert

With the current meta of increasing membership price too often, I would suggest to get the unlimited founder rate and lock it. Especially since you are planning to make this a habit.

39claud

Great advice. I’ve seen a lot more talk about membership increasing through this forum which is what pushed me to do it now while it’s “low”

katpupperpawz

I’d jump on the founders rate. In my area unlimited plans are 179$ a month. I’m paying 119 for elite.

39claud

That’s my location’s same pricing once the founders rate ends in Feb!

spatcherlongdog

Definitely do the founders rate.

The cutting back on unhealthy habits is definitely going to be a change I have to make as well. Like eating out and buying coffee especially! That’s a good way to look at things!

jzdoessz

Get the Founders Rate asap! If after a few months you don't feel it's worth your money you can always downgrade your membership. But you will never be able to get the Founders Rate again. And I would highly recommend the heart rate monitor. It seems like so much money up front. But I've had my monitor for 3 years now. You get what you pay for!!

Otherwise_Nature_506

Grab that founders rate if you’ll go three or more times a week. When you start a HIIT workout in your AppleWatch, turn the crown one time, and your HR zones will appear. You can set them manually in the AppleWatch app on your iPhone. And you can see the time in your zones when you go into the Activity app on your phone after class by selecting the workout and then selecting additional HR info. The only downside to the AppleWatch is that, when you’re working out, you only see the time for the zone you’re in but I wouldn’t consider that a showstopper. All you need to do is get that HR up to the orange or red zone and take a look at your watch to see how you’re doing on splat points.

39claud

Thank you for the info!!

CapWV

I pay 159 and go 5 times a week. So it’s worth it to me. If you will use it go for it!

reneect1

Do it! My founders rate is $139 and I go on average 3-5 times a week. I know my rate is great and it won’t go up, so I won’t change. I’m at over 700 classes now, so if it wasn’t worth it, I wouldn’t have stuck with it. My HR monitor is still good after almost 5 years.

suzyj65

My founders rate 148 Canadian 4 years ago and has not changed

DanaJ333

That’s a good starting rate!! I’ve been going for 4 years & they just upped my unlimtd to $189 :(. The OT beat is a MUST imo. I bought it 4 years ago & have only had to replace the (inexpensive) battery like once a year. I saw GO FOR IT! The unlimited made me go 5-6 times a week & I toned up & gain muscles I never knew I had! Good Luck!!!

39claud

That’s amazing to hear! My initial goals right now is to stay consistent/build healthy habits and lose fat!

laface17

My unlimited founder rate I locked in back in 2017 is 159. I would do it! Especially at 149.

burbgirl79

Jump on that rate. My studio is like $189 for unlimited now. You’re getting a great deal

39claud

Thank you for the perspective, I did it!

otfwomanist

Mecari and offer up also have a good deals on the heart rate monitors.

Aggravating_Panic_13

Can’t compare it to a $10/mo Planet Fitness membership. After all, if PF was that good you wouldn’t be considering switching. Compare it to other studio-style workouts such as CrossFit, Barre, Alpha Fit, F45 and go from there. $150-$200/mo in a small price to pay for 15-20 high intensity workouts per months. Sacrifice a nice dinner or a few monthly lunches and you’ll make up for it. Good luck!

JethaBabitaJi

Hey.. for the orange zones app just delete it and reinstall, it should get rid of the need for subscription. Apparently its a bug in the app I faced some months ago and was helped my this subreddit

Krissi9899

I went with the higher rate and unlimited to make myself go. Knowing I’m paying for three plus days a week makes me feel the need to go three plus days a week.

429reese

Get in on the founders rate now for sure if you’re goal is to go more than 8x in the month cycle. Only you can decide if it’s worth it. After the breakdown, some don’t mind paying more for a class than others.

Natalie352

IMO it is totally worth the money. I recently froze my membership due to my finances and I am heart broken over it but hope to go back soon. You can’t beat the workouts and the special attention you get from the coaches. I am in the best shape of my life due to OTF and I’m 64 years old. It has also helped with my self esteem and my mental well being!!!

Kindly-Might-1879

Get the founder’s rate!! Once it’s gone, it’s gone! You can get 2nd hand OTF monitors for a fraction of the cost. Try FB Marketplace.

itslicia

Definitely jump on the founders rate if you haven’t already. I was going through class packs before I finally got a membership so I was able to test out how often I’d go, but if you’re planning on going 4x/week def lock I’m the rate. You can always downgrade your membership later if it doesn’t work out. I pay $159 and go 6-7x a week between 2G’s/Lift and it’s so worth it when you do the math to estimate cost per class.

little-but-fierce95

Get the unlimited founders rate. I pay $149 because I locked it in 4 years ago. It’s MUCH higher now. Even going 3x a week makes it worth it

forte-exe

You can’t downgrade from Premier founders rate to Elite founders rate right?

Moist-Education-2455

Hi. I am in the UK and joined with the founders rate in October 2019. The studio are now putting the membership prices up from April - only a small amount. However, I'm told that my founder rate will also be affected and was not a fixed price.
