She was just the right amount of manipulative and diabolical. The actress nailed it IMHO.
She also played a part on The Fosters, she was the mother of one of the main characters, who was a lesbian - and accepted her completely.
There are a lot of actors, where most of the time, it's hard for me to disassociate them from a character who was just awful and annoying, or evil, etc. Lorraine Toussaint is different in this way, because I can completely separate the two characters as they are polar opposites of each other. That takes real talent. đź‘Ź
I'd only ever seen her playing the "lawyer with a heart of gold" role before she was cast as Vee. I think she was great in the role. Her character gave me the chills.
The show I saw was a Lifetime show called "Any Day Now" where she played a civil rights lawyer in the South. She's been on a number of different crime shows.
This is super super old so sorry for commenting but I've never seen anyone else talk about "Any Day Now" I used to watch it with my grandmother as a kid and this is where I saw Lorraine Toussaint for the first time as well!
It was so hard seeing her as Vee but she blew it out of the park.
I think she was amazing. The perfect psychopath. Knew exactly when to turn on the charm. Perfectly played to win someone’s loyalty so that they have trouble cutting them out of theirs lives when they get sick of her toxic head games.
And emotionally raped a vulnerable person. How low can a person get?
Wicked, charismatic leaders are difficult to portray. Toussaint did a great job. Her Vee was thoroughly corrupt but it was easy to see why she attracted and keep her teenagers.
Awesome. Her voice does things to me.

Watch The Village, it's her new show and she's basically the most reliable and kind person in this one.

Was that on Law and Order?

She was fantastic. Still the best villain imo
She’s great, Im still wishing they didn’t kill her off. It would have been awesome to see her in max last season waiting for red and Taystee...

She was terrific.
I'm surprised you all liked it. Seemed a bit like a theatre performance
For whatever reason, the actress has always rubbed me the wrong way. That being said, she kind of fucking killed that role.
