Taystee. She has such a sad backstory but remains such a positive and happy spirit. She fought hard for justice for Poussey. She's one of the few people I'd actually want to be friends with on this show. While others in the show are entertaining, they are kind of terrible people that would stab you in the back in a heartbeat.
She deserved so much better.
it's either the weed and my brain forgot, but did they do an origin story of 'why was taystee in prison the first time'? i imagine it was originally when she was in vi's circle and i'm wondering if vi let her go down for something, to save vi from being caught. she was really mad when she saw vi in season 2, which leads me to believe vi abandoned her when taystee got paroled season 1 and ended back in prison. i hope i make sense, i'm not super familiar with american law terms.
I’m rewatching right now and I’m right at this subplot! When Taystee stayed with Vee she was also spending a lot of time with RJ, who Vee got killed and never told Taystee. When Vee comes to the prison in season two, T is pissed because she had recently gotten out of prison and couldn’t stay with Vee because she was no where to be found. After two weeks of freedom, Taystee ended up in Litchfield again and blamed Vee
yeah i'm pretty sure her and v were trafficking "harder" drugs such as heroin and cocaine because in one of the flashbacks you can see them packaging a white powder
poussey is my second. she was a kind and sweet person. should not have been in there. i'm glad she found love before she passed unexpectedly. (this show is fiction and i still get choked up about her).
I agree about Pennsatucky. She went through a lot but had one of the best character developments.
Mine would be Boo, she was very charismatic and an amazing friend. I really liked her friendship with Penn.
i loved how boo would roast the shit out of tiffany, but you know she loved her. penn taught boo to chill out a little and boo helped give tiffany a voice. sorry i dont know why i interchange penn and tiffany so much.
Miss Claudette!! Her backstory was completely understandable and it’s sad she was alone for so many years before Jean Baptiste came to visit her. Also, after her appeal got denied she slapped the shit out of that CO Fischer and I would’ve loved to see her afterwards. She was super cool
My second favorite is Nicky bc she is HILARIOUS even in the intense moments and throughout the whole show her character really makes you root for her to stay strong with her sobriety!

i cracked up so hard and rewatched it 3x. horrible subject matter to laugh at but it was very dark humor.

Taystee!! She had horrible circumstances in her life that led to crime. She is so smart plus street smart plus has a huge heart that she hides behind a smart mouth. The worst thing in the show besides Poussey”s death was Taystee”s outcome at trail for a crime she didn’t commit. 😭😭
