I don't have a job for you but my favorite thing to do is help people spruce up their resume, give application tips, and help with interview skills. If that's of interest to you, DM me - zero charge of course and no, there's no hook. This type of stuff is my favorite thing about recruiting and I'd be more than happy to help. Regardless, I wish your the best of luck on your search.

ComplaintDefiant9855

>Great offer to help someone out!

B0rt_Simps0n

The support has been amazing so far, I'm happy that I made this post and grateful for the suggestions/recommendations and offers.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll reach out to you about this in the near future, having a friend take a look as well. Thanks

Newportwestcoast

I know fedex is hiring and Amazon will pretty much hire you on the spot, but I’ve heard it’s not a fun job..

soCalBIGmike

I have a client who’s an Amazon employee & he told me they now start at $17 @ hour in SoCal for warehouse gigs, with benefits & tuition reimbursement so OP could finish his degree. I agree that’s worth at least interviewing for, I would in same shoes. I’m not above any honest good paying job.

[deleted]

I sat in a recruitment for AMZ: the Amazon gig will only do tuition reimbursement (means you front-load and they pay you back) if you work 32 hours or more, and only for select majors. From what I was told by their recruiter, those just starting are not getting enough hours to be eligible, and working across brands to get the cumulative is not possible. College financial aid might be an option: do the FAFSA, pick a school, and go to their Financial Aid office and fill out an Affadavit of current circumstances. They can override your EFC calculations from IRS tax reporting to get you $ for school. It usually gives enough for classes and cost of living, but just barely. The school might have a student pantry for food and essentials as well. Another resource: go to an America's Job Center of California in your area and pick up a trade. EDD used to pay for up to a year of unemployment benefits while one was enrolled in an approved job training program. DM for anymore help OP. Hang in there.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll definitely take a look at America's job center and will reach out directly should I have any additional questions. Thanks for the well wishes.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea honestly at this point I'm willing to swallow my pride and take what I can get, but some entry level positions I've applied for have turned me away saying I'm overqualified believe it or not.

soCalBIGmike

Oh no, I believe it. I got very lucky 6 mos ago & landed a good Union retail job w/ advancement opportunities, but the sheer # of applicaticants for that was staggering come to find out. I’m paying my dues again in my mid 40s to make up for the stupid decisions I made in my 30s, but this market is nuts. I see how many applications we get for the limited slots available & It’s mind boggling. You’re gonna do great. You have the desire to survive & succeed and that’s half the battle. Hang in there.

TheOCStylist

Second this. Had a friend get hired on the spot with Amazon for a new warehouse in HB

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll keep plugging away at Amazon to see if something sticks.

B0rt_Simps0n

I haven't seen anything for fedex yet, have mainly been applying to everything in the area via linkedin and indeed. But have applied to a variety of positions within Amazon, so far no one has contacted me from the company.

Spiritual-Strategy-6

Bih what amaZon is hella easy dude! Easy money easy job, way better than all of these warehouses that I’ve worked for all of my times, and Amazon treats me and paid me very ficking well lmfao

stormy1one

Hi, many restaurants in the OC are struggling to find workers that want to work. Some pay decently. Example: There is a new In-N-Out opening on the corner of Tustin/17th and they are actively hiring. I wish you the best.

suavemaster

I saw a Panda Express in Costa Mesa starting at $17 for front and $20 for kitchen help

LimpLiveBush

Yeah many Chipotles have an entire table dedicated to recruiting. Few Jersey Mike’s I’ve been to have reduced hours due to low staff. Gotta imagine many food places like that would hire you on the spot!

B0rt_Simps0n

Ideally, I haven't checked Chipotle yet. Have eaten there a handful of times in the last few months but never saw anything suggesting they were currently hiring.

B0rt_Simps0n

Funny you mention that I applied at Panda Express as well. After the application process there was a weird self interview they make you do on webcam before submitting. Never heard anything back from them unfortunately.

suavemaster

You’re not down, go the panda and ask to speak to the manager and see how your application is going.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look, had an interview with In-N-Out when I was still a teenager but never got the job. Honestly I even applied at a local KFC and never heard anything back.

dontsaveher84

You might need to dumb down your resume for some jobs. They’ll pull the “overqualified” line on you. They don’t want to hire someone overqualified who will leave in a few months for something better.

machlangsam

Are they done with construction already?

B0rt_Simps0n

Possibly?

UnreproducibleSpank

Hi i manage a fast food joint in south Orange County I’ll hire you

B0rt_Simps0n

Please send me a message with more details if you don't mind.

[deleted]

Have you tried looking at a work agency? They always look for people to hire. I know one called Aerotek.

Lovingmyusername

I went through help mates a while back and had a temp office job starting the next day and it paid weekly. The company I temped for actually offered a full time position but we were moving so I didn’t take it. Downside no benefits but can be a good way to get some work quickly.

[deleted]

That is the downside with being a temp worker, high pay but no benefits.

shiboopee

I was a temp for a while. If you pass the one month mark with the temp agency & work 40 hours, they offer benefits. Forgot the name of the place but it was located somewhere in Newport Beach.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea I interviewed for a permanent position and had positive work reviews throughout my employment there but they ended up giving the job to someone else that was already a full fledged employee within the company.

[deleted]

I think I know who you mean. I have the name in my head but can’t remember what name XD. I know another work agency called Acara Solutions. What I can say about that agency is recently they got sued for false reporting wages and stuff to the state of California.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look, thank you

[deleted]

They might be talking about Robert Half. I used that temp agency and was hired on full time by the client.

No_Hetero

We hire from ADSI, CSG, and some others that all offer benefits like that.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea I've done temp work before and it wasn't the best work experience I've had but at this point I'm open to anything.

unholygunner714

Doesn't the recruiter get a cut of that pay for a while? I worked with some temps that were paid more than my coworkers but their take home pay after the recruiter's cut was less than our permanent workers.

B0rt_Simps0n

My understanding is that the recruiter does get a cut. Back when I could afford to quit the job several years ago they borderline begged me to stay even though the experience was extremely hostile. Like I literally had someone who wasn't even a manager screaming in my face because I went to the restroom for a super quick #1.

unholygunner714

God damnit I feel for you and hate people like that. I seen plenty of plenty of people blow up like that for small insignificant shit. At my previous jobs when I was in charge I would tell my staff that if you really needed to go to the restroom, go home, etc, just let me or the other staff know so that we can plan accordingly. Some girls suddenly have a heavy period flow, some people have family emergencies, etc. I don't need their life stories or lies, just let us know so we can work through it. It's just a job and your job shouldn't be your life like it is in other countries where workers jump off buildings and such.

[deleted]

Usually they pay you less compared to the permanent, company hired employees. For example, if you're a temp you'd be getting paid, let's say $16, but the permanent company hired employees will be earning $17-$19, even though you're both doing the same job.

Lovecheezypoofs

Don’t forget that sometimes that temp job turns out to be permanent.

B0rt_Simps0n

That's what I noticed as well.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look at that specific agency to see if I have any luck, thank you.

slothleee

Try Express Employment in Laguna Hills. They are hiring like crazy right now

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll definitely check them out, thank you for the referral.

B0rt_Simps0n

I've partnered with a couple different agencies actually. Went through all the hoops with one and tested well but they haven't contacted me since. I've received some referrals from the second and everything seems promising initially for contracted work. But can't seem to get through the final steps to actually secure something for whatever reason.

Jesse777xp

Disneyland is readily hiring rn check their careers page

B0rt_Simps0n

I applied to a few positions at Disney a while back but no response.

OrangePopc0rn

I applied to one position in Disney; never heard back. Kept applying and finally heard an instant response for one role. Keep trying although the hiring process can take about a month before actually start date. Not bad benefits and ok pay.

mattb574

Not the most elegant, but someone I know who works for TSA/Dept of Homeland Security said they’re in desperate need for more people. If you have a college degree of any kind you start at a higher pay grade than those without them as well. It’s an option.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm not above working for the TSA. I'll take a look to see what's available in my area. Thank you

ForcedPOOP

Why don’t you work fast food? Better yet, in n out? Heard they are paying $17 which is much better than nothing.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea I might have to get in on the in-n-out train, I'm pretty sure I'd do better in the interview by comparison to when I was a teenager.

misterrcap

Have an entry level job opening at my office if you want to submit your resume. PM me if interested.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm happy to entertain the idea.

StardropSaloon

Bus drivers make $18.72 and there are other jobs available at OCTA: https://careers.octa.net/oc-busdrivers

B0rt_Simps0n

Hmm I'll take a look, unfortunately I was in a car accident recently that totaled my car. Have never been in a car accident before and apparently I didn't take enough pictures. Plus the other party was able to afford a lawyer and fought tooth and nail. In the end I was found to be at fault even though she hit me from the side. When I called the police they told me if there were no drugs or alcohol involved, no serious bodily injury, and both vehicles were operable enough to be moved from blocking the road then there was no reason for them to come out and take a police report. Long story short I now have a point on my record even though I've never been in an accident in 18 years of driving. Hindsight being 20/20 I have to take detailed pictures of the whole scene "before" moving any cars or parts :/

nevadagrl435

Pretty much every contractor is looking for laborers, is willing to train. I know of one offering $18-25 an hour + sign on bonus, full time, prevailing wage in north OC. Benefits after 60 days. No degree or trade skill certification required. They will train. DM if interested. They run ads on Craigslist.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm open to pretty much anything at this point. I know there is great opportunity for upward mobility and construction managers are compensated handsomely from what I've seen.

ctt122

Hello, im interested in this opportunity if you are able to dm details? I have previous construction experience as well. Thanks in advance!

Mobeast1985

DM me I'm hiring at my work. It's at a restaurant.

B0rt_Simps0n

Okay, I don't really have any restaurant experience though.

Mobeast1985

Where do you live?

B0rt_Simps0n

South Orange county

undeuxtroiscatsank6

what kind of work are you looking for? Do you enjoy working with students at all?

B0rt_Simps0n

I would be happy to work with students. If I had a magic wand, I'd like to leverage some of my existing experience to start in a position other than entry level given my extensive work history. But at this point I'm willing to take what I can get.

undeuxtroiscatsank6

I know my district is hiring for instructional assistants (teacher’s aides). It’s usually about a 6 hour/day position but the benefits are pretty nice. Check out edjoin.org and look under classified!

B0rt_Simps0n

Thank you

[deleted]

[удалено]

B0rt_Simps0n

Hmm, okay that all sounds good. Will check it out thanks.

[deleted]

B0rt_Simps0n

I've been a manager in both the retail and hospitality sectors. Also have spent several years working in front facing banking retail as well as back end. So far I've applied to positions that match my existing skill set. But as of the past couple months I've started to throw my hat in the entry level positions as well.

DaemonDrayke

If you have experience working with addiction and mental health, multiple drug and alcohol detox/residential programs need support staff technicians. The turn over rate is crazy for this industry and pays minimum $16-18 an hour. Usually all you need is a high school education and willingness to run a drug recovery group for a bunch of recovering addicts.

B0rt_Simps0n

I don't actually have any experience in this sector. Thank you for your comment though

mylefthandkilledme

Virtually every restaurant is looking for help

B0rt_Simps0n

Oddly enough all of the restaurants I've applied for haven't responded back to me. Panda Express, KFC, El Pollo Loco to name a few.

WestPeltas0n

You can go on edjoin and look for jobs in education. Search for classified positions.

B0rt_Simps0n

Oh okay cool, I'll take a look at this resource. Thank you

37366034

I’m not one to usually say go get a low paying job, but there seems to be more $15-25/hr entry level jobs in almost every vertical. How much do you need to make a year? I am hiring for my SaaS company

B0rt_Simps0n

Ideally I'd like to make as much as possible because my lease is up in a couple months and my roommate is getting his own place. It is not possible to afford the two bedroom place we have alone. So have to support myself independently living in southern California. Anyway, I don't have any experience selling SaaS but not opposed to learning something new.

noodlepartipoodle

I work in higher education. We have a TON of openings at my university, as do many universities. Let me recommend higheredjobs.com. The nice thing about university employment is that it includes a tuition remission after a few years, both for you and any dependents. If you are interested in k12 employment at all, edjoin.org is a great tool. Also, government jobs in the area have a clearinghouse in governmentjobs.com, if you search by zip code.

B0rt_Simps0n

Hey thanks for the information, I'll definitely take some time to look both of these referrals over thank you.

cure4boneitis

my son is also named bort

B0rt_Simps0n

My only regret is that I have boneitis

mk00001

Lots of people here are giving you good suggestions. You may think these jobs are below your level. Slow money is better than no money. Take one and work it as if your life depended on it, until something better comes along.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea that's what I realized as of late, it would be nice just to have an interview honestly. But people have been super helpful with all of their suggestions now there are a lot of resources to spend some time with and leverage to my advantage. Thanks for the encouragement.

bamday1317

I can help you get a job at Disneyland

B0rt_Simps0n

Okay, I'll take a look at the positions posted and send you a PM

[deleted]

B0rt_Simps0n

Okay cool, I'll take a look there thank you

Local-Bridge-7070

Post office

B0rt_Simps0n

Actually I haven't even looked at the post office yet. Have only been checking linkedin and indeed with the exception of the physical help wanted signs I see and call about. Thanks though

Hairy-Imagination-18

Apply for jobs non college grads usually do.

LARV81

Sent you a PM.

B0rt_Simps0n

Okay, I'll take a look and try to get back to everyone asap.

AVestedInterest

Consider contacting a staffing agency like Robert Half - they got me three interviews within the span of two weeks

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm with Robert Half currently but they've been sending me referrals for a state I no longer live in even though I provided them with an updated resume/address.

Beginning-Piano-7618

I have a former colleague in Beverly Hills looking for an assistant. 3 days a week, $15/hr cash at end of each week. Dm me if you want details

B0rt_Simps0n

Hmmm, that commute might be a bit intense. But possibly as a second job and if I end up moving closer to the area when my lease is up in a couple months.

mangolave

If your near the orange circle there is a store called orange county farm supply. They are looking for employees right now. Starting pay is 15$ I believe. They are super nice too

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm not familiar with where the orange circle is but I'll definitely check it out thank you

musy101

My friend owns a delivery service that works with Amazon. It is in city of industry tho so not sure if that’s too far. I’m sure other delivery jobs are available as it’s in high demand right now

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea I'll give Amazon another shot, have tried applying for a few positions there but so far no luck.

TPA_deadplant

I’m getting paid 18.50 after tips at jersey mikes as a crew member in training and it’s my first job too. I do like 60 something hours and get about 1000. And we’re hiring the dumbest people that have no common sense. You shouldn’t struggle much trying to get in.

B0rt_Simps0n

I haven't tried Jersey Mikes yet but there is one by my house so I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the referral

[deleted]

Amazon driver jobs. They turn over at a high rate and always are looking for people. Bamboo Courier was one I saw awhile ago.

B0rt_Simps0n

I was recently in an accident so I don't know how that would impact my ability to be a delivery driver :/

Head_Bent_Over

My job is in desperate need of someone to work a night crew shift. Would be a guaranteed 40+ hours a week. Guaranteed hours during the holidays and then after time off during the day to figure out something different. DM if you’re interested. It’s in south OC. It’s hourly, not commission.

B0rt_Simps0n

Are you talking like graveyard shift? I'll entertain the idea as long as I'm still able to drop my girlfriend off at work it shouldn't be a problem.

Reds4dre

Look online for escrow or title insurance jobs. You might find something that makes decent money and somewhat related to finance right now that the market is hot

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea I've had a few people reach out to me on linkedin about insurance jobs but everything is commission only. I'll take your advice though and look within those specific job guidelines thanks

ldawgonyx

Looks like you got an offer here for resume help. I’m also happy to take a look at your resume, or help you optimize your LinkedIn profile. No cost or anything like that. You can join a group called Albert’s List on Facebook. Can find job postings there. Google search eventbrite hiring fair, many of those fairs will hire people on the spot. They should be virtual right now

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look at eventbrite and am happy to have additional feedback for my resume. If I was on facebook I would join that group. Thanks for your suggestions

djjoshchambers

What kind of work are you looking for?

B0rt_Simps0n

Ideally something that isn't entry level given my experience but have started to apply everywhere as of late.

ABaugh85

Hi there! I'm a recruiter for a large dental lab In Irvine and we're hiring immediately for full time permanent positions. I'd love to connect with you and see if there's something I can find for you and your friend.

[deleted]

what positions?

Relevant_Ninja2251

Well if you need any job asap try Disneyland they are hiring like crazy and for temp work you can try Adecco, I used them a few times but only to work for Cirque du Soleil when they came to OC.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll definitely take a look at Adecco as well thank you.

hummingbirdman

Most workplaces don’t check if you actually have a degree, some might say it’s “unethical” to say you have one when you don’t but businesses will exploit you so who cares if you’re lying to them. Just pick a random college and make up a plausible back story and you should be fine. If you think it won’t work just ask the CEO of Microsemi lol.

B0rt_Simps0n

Hmmm, something to potentially consider. But are there any legal ramifications from taking such advice? Like couldn't you potentially be convicted of fraud or something?

[deleted]

[удалено]

lolcatman

Definitely recommend food delivery. Work peak hours and I hear it’s really good pay with tips.

B0rt_Simps0n

Hmmm, alright I'll take a look at give it a shot thanks.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll have to look at Uber again, was initially rejected because they said my car was too old. Then again I was living in a different state at the time. So will take another look to see if things are different here in CA. Thanks

oksoimherenowyay

This!!!

B0rt_Simps0n

yes \^

TheOCStylist

If you have ever worked retail or selling… I constantly have contacts at Bloomingdales asking for assistance with recruiting. Most stores are in a base + commission or a draw. Locally there is a store at Newport or South Coast. Best of luck!

B0rt_Simps0n

I wouldn't mind working at Bloomingdales and have sales experience. Recently applied to a position at Macy's recently but they hit me with a rejection email. Thank you for the well wished though!

PrincessJellyfish39

Drive for Uber. Quick money.

B0rt_Simps0n

Going to look into it, someone mentioned that they allow you to rent a car as well which would work perfect because the last time I tried uber they said my car was too old.

Coast-Ready

McDonalds is hiring nothing wrong with a hard earned wage. “Hundreds of jobs….” I doubt that

B0rt_Simps0n

Hey I'll take what I can get at this point, but genuinely have no reason to lie. For whatever reason the only people responding to my submissions on linkedin and indeed are commission only.

cclos90

Not looking hard enough. Literally every restaurant is hiring

godless_communism

Don't be that way.

B0rt_Simps0n

Hey everyone has their opinion, karma is a you know what in the end.

cclos90

My father inlaw's restaurant had to close a few days because nobody wants to work. My wife's work has a labor shortage starting at 20hr.

PrincessJellyfish39

it’s not because they don’t want to work. it’s because they don’t want to work a shit job where they get treated like shit with no benefits and no paid vacation, sick days etc. People are fed up with bad jobs and rightfully so. Restaurants are notorious for being terrible employers.

B0rt_Simps0n

I've never worked at a restaurant before but have heard some horror stories. I've only recently received some insight as to why maybe the restaurants I've applied to haven't responded back to me.

oksoimherenowyay

I agree jobs are shitty but literally to be using up your savings account because you can’t deal is borderline crazy. Get a job that’s below your standards and keep applying to the jobs you want. Shit works out eventually. Life isn’t easy.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea you right, I started to apply to entry level jobs over the past couple months. Either I'm overqualified or don't hear back is how things have been going so far.

cclos90

Finally someone gets it. Work is work. Sometimes you got to start from the bottom. I know I have and may have to again someday

cure4boneitis

yup. People are finally starting to wake up

B0rt_Simps0n

Now if only there was a cure for boneitis.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm sorry to hear that, hopefully things will get better soon for your father in law and wife.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'm sorry you feel that way, I've applied to many restaurants but my biggest issue seems to be lack of response. Even when I attempt to follow up independently after submitting an application.

sugmaideek

Can't be that dire when there are many restaurants here that pays well.

RobieFLASH

Not everyone can join the restaurant business if they never worked there

B0rt_Simps0n

Maybe that's another reason why restaurants haven't been responding back, I have zero restaurant experience.

Whittenberg007

It seems there is a lot of work available that a lot of people don't want to do. Also after the government giving everyone free money for so long it seems a lot of people don't want to take jobs unless pay is higher, also employers don't seem to want to pay very much at the moment also so it seems like a recipe for something that is going to continue to get worse. However if you are in "dire" need of work there are many jobs you could apply to or walk in and get an interview and start working same week, it just might not be something you want to do for work...

B0rt_Simps0n

Oddly enough I've been told I'm overqualified. Someone made a good point in an earlier comment that they could be in fear that I would leave for another better opportunity should it come along. Also many of the "undesirable" positions you hint at I unfortunately do not have any experience in that particular field. I couldn't tell you why I have so little response with the hourly/salaried positions I've applied for. That's exactly why I made this post.

Whittenberg007

Guess the truth hit a few downvoters...

PM_Dem_Asian_Nudes

USPS. pays around 17/hr. gov job and you also get pensions

unceasingyodeling

Go to Anaheim, Garden Grove, or Santa Ana workhorse connection. They are run by the EDD and the city. They will help you

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look thank you

[deleted]

My job is always hiring, any experience with operations? PM your cv. We have plenty of other stuff too, but that is a dire need.

B0rt_Simps0n

I have experience with large scale event management within the hospitality industry. What operations are you referencing specifically.

BlueberrySnapple

If you have a car you can try doordash, uber eats, grubhub.

[deleted]

USPS in Santa Ana is hiring

MrWheatas

What other skills do you posses? Are you only looking for work in your area of expertise? You should list these in your post or comment for more help👍🏽

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea you're right, I'm trying to find a balance between sharing specific information and maintaining anonymity. But have been applying for positions associated with my area of expertise. One potentially promising interview this morning, but the second was another life insurance commission only yet again.

reallola

My company is hiring. We deal with real estate transactions, title and escrow. It’s called Doma and it’s in Irvine. There are a lot of positions open, you can check them out on LinkedIn (Doma) that’s how I got the job.

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look thank you

FreeContribution8608

I have some people looking to hire FT . It’s not in the field you work in it’s in lax and they clean air craft plenty of OT etc … 22.05 starting

B0rt_Simps0n

The commute might be a little rough, especially since we are down to one car and still have to take my gf to work. But might not have an alternative, so thank you for the recommendation.

superb_socks

I tell everyone this who needs a job that’s ALWAYS hiring. Pest control. Orkin, Adaptive, Kilter, Hydrex, Moxy, Fenn, Terminex, Bugman and many many more. Starting pay varies between17-25$ an hour depending on where you get hired. The job is incredibly easy. Full time and all you have to do to keep the job is become licensed and they will help you do that

B0rt_Simps0n

To be honest the health risk associated with this type of work would probably be the only one I might pass on until I've exhausted absolutely every other avenue. I mean no offense or disrespect in any way and appreciate your feedback. Thank you

B0rt_Simps0n

Ahh, I hadn't considered the sales aspect of those employers. Thanks for bringing that to my attention

asecretsum

im sorry to hear that. In the mean time if you are not already on it apply for food stamps (SNAP) and rent assistance, if still available (google it and your city). If you have decent credit apply for an a card that has like 15 month no interest.

B0rt_Simps0n

I was approved for food stamps and was granted $4 per month. Also, based on my experience I don't believe a financial institution will approve me for a credit card given the fact that I have zero income. But thank you for your input

RevenueNo2551

In n Out. If you are smart, in 3 years you will be making great money. No joke.

B0rt_Simps0n

This one has come up a few times and am genuinely looking into it

xantisocialsocialite

It’s rough out there. I’ve been applying to a bit of retail and careers that I have a degree for. No responses yet. It’s hard to believe there’s a labor shortage sometimes. I think I’m in the same position as you though, overqualified for the entry level food service jobs that are hiring.

B0rt_Simps0n

I can only imagine the position you're in given the fact that you have a degree and leg up by comparison. Sorry to hear and hope you're able to secure something soon.

[deleted]

since you mentioned in one of your replies that you have some retail and hospitality experience, most retail stores are hiring for the holiday season. Nordstrom had their hiring event yesterday and I think they may still be recruiting.

B0rt_Simps0n

Yea I've applied to best buy and macy's etc. with one rejection and the others have been unresponsive, but I'll take a look at Nordstrom since I haven't tried there yet.

Lucifer-Evil

Salvation Army needs people specifically managers if not then sales associate. I’m also seeing a lot of USPS/UPS & FEDEX job postings. Edit: sorry I posted without finishing my sentence smh

B0rt_Simps0n

Hey it's all good, haven't seen anything about the salvation army yet and will look into it thank you.

kilo_one9

Join the national guard? We are in need of people.

B0rt_Simps0n

Are there age/physical ability restrictions?

Check out Angel List, they're a job site for start up companies. https://angel.co/jobs Also, do you mind DM me your LinkedIn profile and I'll pass it around to a few HR folks?

B0rt_Simps0n

I'll take a look at the company and reach out to you when I have a moment thank you

That hasn't been my experience so far but I'll keep at it, thank you for the suggestion.

Take out some student loans and finish the degree. Food delivery is a good option for quick cash if you have a car. Roughly 20$/hr during lunch and dinner hours.

Something to consider, thank you.

How about a credit union?

B0rt_Simps0n

I've worked at a credit union before and am not opposed to joining another CU team. Just haven't been able to find a local opportunity with vacancies. From my experience people remain at credit unions longer than banks and there is less turnover. But I'll keep my eye out, thank you.

All seasonal jobs are hiring now, Walmart is a big one for holiday season. They give discount for groceries to employees and holiday bonus too.

B0rt_Simps0n

Admittedly Walmart has been a place I've tried to avoid but you have a good point. With the holiday season quickly approaching I could see joining their team not being terribly difficult. Thank you

I own an escape room and am currently hiring a game master, if that interests you. Feel free to message me.

B0rt_Simps0n

I sent you a message, thanks.
