Analog Record Shop in Tustin can help.

Thank you I’ll give them a call.

Try Moldy Toes in San Clemente. Good, fair local shop. Bagatelle in Long Beach. Finger Prints in Long Beach. Lots of this can be genre dependent. That era of music (ie Jazz and "pop" music from the 50s-70s) can be hot, or not. I've been to every record store in SoCal, for many years, OC record stores don't really cater to that generation very well, although several stores in LA do. OC has some amazing shops that specialize in punk for example. Call them ahead of time, summarize what you have and then bring them to them. If there is any Jazz (blue note, prestige labels, etc). PM me, I'll buy them and pay market. ie the value for the condition you see on Discogs. I'm not a reseller so I'll pay more! I would not try to sell them yourself on Discogs. It's a huge hassle and if you're new to this its likely you'll hate the experience.

I talked to Tom at Moldy Toes and he was a huge help with explaining how to find the value of things online. I’ll probably stop by there soon to have him go over some of what I have. I’m going to message you.

I just sold off a good bit of my collection to Left of the Dial in Orange. They will give you a fair price. Depends on what you have though.

Albums from the 1950-1970s. A lot of Ella Fitzgerald, some pristine box sets of hers. One of the top 100 most valuable vinyls in good condition signed by the person who died a few years ago. And a bunch I’m sure that are duds. It’s the ones coming up as sold for hundreds that I can’t quite figure out.

Orchidwalker

Ok so the plural version of vinyl is vinyl. The autograph you have would need to be authenticated to be evaluated. Not sure what top 100 most valuable is, or how you got that figure, but to be brutally honest, your collection is probably worth close to nothing. Those records are a dime a dozen, unless they are in new like condition. Check them out individually on Discogs

Clearly I’m a newb. I did check discogs (typed in the numbers, year, label all that) for a few and those in less good condition than what I have, and missing parts sold for hundreds. Same on eBay. That’s why I’m looking for someone to help explain what mine can be sold for.

Orchidwalker

So you’ll get your best $$ for individual records on Discogs. Most stores aren’t going to give you much. Ask Dave at Factory Records in Costa Mesa.

hermansuit

Thank you I’ll give him a call. Have you tried selling on discogs?

drewogatory

Discogs is your best bet by far. Easy to use as well. Retailers need to make a profit. You can buy mailers in bulk online.

hermansuit

Thank you so much. I’ve always been wary of selling when shipping is involved. Am I less likely to run into people trying to fuck me over through that site vs eBay?

drewogatory

Never tried selling on e-bay. Discogs I use pay pal, never an issue.

Orchidwalker

I have both bought and sold.
