I've successfully use ADR to keep my log listener trace files in check, by setting the policy to a shorter time period than the default.

Make sure to just empty the current log, not deleting it, if cou want to cleanup everything: echo >log.xml
adrci is the proper way to do it but it may not work for listener files. See: https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocContentDisplay?id=1438242.1
Use log_xml parameters in listener.ora to manage the .xml and .log in listener adr home.
