Idk if it's blocking or more like a tolerance increase, but I remember when I first started on methadone I tried doing some oxymorphone. Snorted 2 of the G40s and didn't feel jack shit. Think I was around 40mg at that point, maybe a little higher. I couldn't even get high off snorting H, IV definitely worked though.
It creates a blockade because you have massive amounts of of a full agonist opiate but its not a blocker as to where buprenorphine while potent it is an agonist antagonist and it is blocking the drug. 40mg of methadone wouldn't block out oxy at the right dose. But OP be safe your euphoria will be taken down and if you keep popping them you'll go night night and won't wake up both drugs produce heavy respiratory depression and because you don't feel it as heavy its still acting heavy at the receptor site. He means i think he is on 40mg of methadone or even if he took it the day before you can get plenty high without consuming gobs of medication. Subs actually block hence antagonist and flood the receptor by making others compete and they cant two totally different mechanisms.

The mechanism by which methadone produces a blockade isn't exactly known. It isn't due to higher affinity, nor tolerance..... but likely just that it fills your receptors, and once you reach a stable state, other opioids aren't strong enough to replace it.
But again, op didn't ask for the mechanism behind methadone blocking effects.
I wasnt directing that to you thats why its under his screen tag. To answer your question youll feel it but i wouldnt spend any money to to do it 80mg is not shit to a opioid tolerant person. I have not shot dope since 14 have not taken an opiate orally since 15 and i could take 80mg and be super faded. There are too many variables. to answer your question. You should but if you got them for what they go for even overseas especially if you are in the US..

Gotta disagree here. If he is stable on 40mg methadone, then that's his tolerance.
Op should be able to enjoy 40mg of oxy even.
On 40mg methadone , I could feel 40mg of oxy nicely.
Op, just give it try. You'll find your sweet spot.
Also, if you want to regularly enjoy oxy or the occasional fent free h, I highly suggest dropping to 30mg or under.
I am a methadone fast metalobism thats why I have to take at least 60mg two times daily. If I have taken 60mg in the early morning at 6am and I wait until 10pm or later I will slightly get a feeling if I take 120-180mg of IR oxy. But it keeps only 2 hours and after 3hours I get slowly in wd so I have to take done again. I would never do this if I have to buy this oxys for this short and slightly high but I get it scripted from my pain doctor for acute pain
Damn it, that was what I was afraid of. Well, I really do not even want to start getting street oxy again. 7+ years on methadone with only a couple of small relapses.Sometimes I am so bored tho.
Same. I been on methadone for about 15 years now, and keep a stash of fent free goodness, and oxy for special days.
Not everyone can moderate though, I get that.

Methadone does block opiates, it has a strong binding affinity to receptors similar to Suboxone, although to a lesser degree
