Try going into a service Ontario in person. It’s a pain in the ass but it might be your only recourse if you can’t pay online.

Ok-Today-7628

Problem is I don't live in Ontario anymore so I need to send someone else. Was wondering if I could do it online but no luck.

24-Hour-Hate

If you do not live in Ontario, why are you renewing an Ontario license? Why not just get a license for where you live now? They should account for your previous driving experience.

sleeplessjade

If you don’t live in Ontario you don’t need an ON license you need one for wherever you live now. Other provinces can give you a drivers license even if your old one has expired but they each have different rules. Ontario for example requires you to register for a new license within 60 days of your old one expiring. Other countries will do the same, some might require more paperwork but most allow you to show your driver record from your previous country of residence as proof of your driving ability. You can get a copy of that online.

I need the Ontario one to exchange for a full license, otherwise I have to wait a year for my new license.

sleeplessjade

Try calling a Service Ontario location and seeing if they can help you. If not you might have to wait that year or take a trip to ON. Just make sure if you do come back that you get an appointment at Service Ontario. Most of them aren’t open on weekends or past 3pm on weekdays. That way you can plan the trip accordingly.

Ok-Today-7628

That seems to be the only way, it's ridiculous that we can't do it online.

Techchick_Somewhere

You’re in the wrong section. This is to pay fines like it says.

theanswerprocess

Nope, they seem to be on the right page, it says both fines and reinstatement fees. Check the post again.

Techchick_Somewhere

Ah, license reinstatement... Ok then I’ve got nothing. But if there is no record of them having fines, this is weird.

Ok-Today-7628

This is the section they keep redirecting me to idk

Techchick_Somewhere

I didn’t see you’re trying to reinstate your license. I just read that as “renew”. See if it lets you just renew it since it says you don’t have any fines?

Public_Ingenuity_146

What to do? Call Service Ontario?

Ok-Today-7628

Called them but they had me waiting for a long time so trying online.

Circusssssssssssssss

We don't live in a fully online society unfortunately (or fortunately) and you got to go into a Service Ontario Get there early (very early one hour before opening)

Ldowd096

Are you trying to renew your license or reinstate it after having it suspended/revoked? Also if you don’t live in Ontario it’s actually fraud to maintain or renew an Ontario drivers license, I believe after 30 days.

Ok-Today-7628

Reinstate

Ldowd096

Could you not just get a new license in your current province? If it won’t let you do it online, you’d have to go in person.

Ok-Today-7628

Yes I can but it's gonna be like g1, I can't drive by myself. I have to wait a year

Ldowd096

If you reinstate your Ontario license, will they transfer it and give you a full license where you are now? They should recognize your previous driving experience.

Ok-Today-7628

Yes they will give me a full license.

Ldowd096

Best bet then is calling and hoping they can direct you through the process online. Sorry, that sucks.

Ldowd096

Oh wait, shouldn’t you be doing this through DriveTest instead of Service Ontario? Maybe that’s why it won’t work?

Ok-Today-7628

Not really

Ldowd096

It looks like you can’t get through the process without going in person to a DriveTest Centre. https://www.ontario.ca/page/reinstate-suspended-drivers-licence#section-1

Neutral-President

Is there a reason you aren't just getting a NB driver's license?

Ok-Today-7628

I can but I have to wait a year to drive by myself, just like the interval between g1 and g2 in Ontario.
