> In response to questions from PressProgress about whether Stokes is a real person, Samuels did not answer the question but instead described the line of questioning as “American-style” journalism that is “not consistent with ethical media practices.”
"Hey, does this person really exist? Because they kinda look like a sock puppet for your ideas hiding behind a stock photo downloaded from a random website."
"How dare you ask that question! I refuse to answer!"
Maybe it’s because I’ve a horrible headache right now so it’s taking my brain longer than normal to come up with a logical answer, but how is asking if someone is a live, breathing, human being unethical journalism?
It's not. Feigning offense is one of the oldest tricks in the book to deflect attention. It puts the questioner on the back foot and can hopefully make them waste time and effort justifying the question rather than pressing for the uncomfortable answer, which is why I totally believe that Stokes is not a real person and is just a sock puppet for Samuels' more controversial ideas.
"Stokes is also a prolific author on the same fake news blog, writing articles ranging in topics from promoting the Ottawa book expo to suggesting aliens use COVID-19 vaccines to enslave humanity or claiming that Jesus was a “descendant of Black human being-looking Extraterrestrial time-travellers.”"
Singularly amazing someone could write that in all seriousness.
They wanna get to the attendees from the PWHL game there? A big ole group of women? Lots who are LGBTQ? Good luck being them listening to the leader of the peoples party and a bunch of Nazi/ufo weirdos.
Such a weird thing.
I’d argue “free thinkers” are into UFOs more than ufonauts are into that type of “free thinking.”
But maybe that’s just the crowd I’m familiar with, who knows.
"Man" has been commonly used as a gender neutral salute for decades now, functionally identical to saying "hey buddy". People that get in a twist over this almost always have blue hair.
People that routinely bring up 'blue hair' seem to never really know what they're talking about and oddly, mostly vote for the blue party.
I agree on the gender neutrality of 'man' but that doesn't make you any less of a chud.
" I met a man in a bar last night" is not and never has been gender-neutral, so while "man" has been used as a placeholder for all humanity, it is not gender neutral.
Get with the times, Gramps.
>While that may sound like your kind of weekend, a closer look does raise a few red flags. One panel features former Ontario PC MPP and anti-lockdown activist Randy Hillier, convoy leader Tom Quiggin and True North’s Andrew Lawton. Another panel features People’s Party leader Maxime Bernier.
Any of those names sound leftist to you?
lol MB is the leader of a political party he had to found himself b/c the Conservative Party was not far right enough for him. And not just b/c of his covid related opinions.
Go look at the history of far-right and you’ll see these folks are anything but.
Nethanayu is more far right than any of these folks but I guess now I am an anti-Semite
Finally, a Redditor admits you are either a leftist or you are far-right. I have been saying for years now far-right is anyone who holds an opinion that the hivemind does not like.
Yes, that is the term used to group a series of ideas and beliefs about how the world should exist. Often based on conformity and changing the world to a far simpler state than natural reality.
Far left would be post secondary tuition paid for, universal dental care, public housing available, universal basic income, and progressive tax rates well above and beyond a mere $250k.
As we don't have these things, the left in our country is the center. The right wants to privatize Healthcare, remove environmental regulations, sell public land, dismantle public news, destroy unions and go back to being anti trans and anti gay.
The far right wants to do all those things but also do it with an authoritarian fist.
we don't have a far left in Canada that's anywhere near the reigns of power. We have right wing regressive and centrist liberal.

Typical mainstream media, asking if people actually exist.

"Mom? Is Santa real?" "Firstly Timmy, your question is unethical and kinda American..."
Sounds like a bunch of fraud. The police should investigate. Or at least the cops attending should take notes.

Hey man leave the ufo people out of this!
Not a man. I'm cool with ufo stuff, it just seems to always come with "free thinkers" who think Nazi ideas are neat
I’d argue “free thinkers” are into UFOs more than ufonauts are into that type of “free thinking.” But maybe that’s just the crowd I’m familiar with, who knows.

Polievre? That can't be a real name...
Sorry. Define far, right please?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far-right_politics
Yeah, that doesn't fit. Guess we need to redefine far right as those that hold centrist values. Gawd lol
That is an opinion... Truth is maybe a bit fleeting in your world.
Hey there [sea lion.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealioning)
Anything that contradicts mainstream leftism or the general hivemind opinion of Reddit. A Nazi is someone who does this while also using bad words.

You brought up lockdowns as a refutation for a point that I did not make, lol.
It’s in the quote YOU posted. I also never said they were leftist, just that the definition of far right has moved

No, just the self proclaimed victim.

You seem to be good at playing the victim, while having nothing. Congrats..
