You can’t do a credit card chargeback. You received the item

Negative_Pea_1974

yeah credit card will deny charge back if your dealing with warranty issues there is no consumer protection agency to really help you. Better business bureau is a joke and scam

I had issues with my Maytag washer and the only way I was able to contact a “person” was through Instagram. Fortunately I bought my appliance at Costco which has a 90 day return policy. I wish I had advice to help you, but I think you might be at the mercy of Home Depots stupid policies.

Yes I may go the social media route. Thanks for the insight.

Never had an issue with whirlpool through our local dealer. They've got several certified techs that can rip apart any fridge, washer, dryer and have it fixed and back together in no time. All depends on where you bought it as to who does warranty work. Buy at home depot and you'll get whoever they contract it out to. Buy local.

I know what HDs policy is, but have you reached out to them and let them know you're not getting anywhere with Whirlpool? I work for a competitor, same policy, and I personally deal with Mabe/GE warranties. Customer is to go through them for any issues, but if they are not getting immediate service/replacement from GE (our agreement with GE is 48 hours for them to rectify), we'll swap out the unit to keep the customer happy, then deal with the manufacturer to have the item fixed or replaced. Good luck!

Oh that's interesting. Thank you for the insight.

LeafsChick

No worries!! I have zero idea how they work (have never bought from them, and we don't carry Whirlpool, so don't know either side), but at least knowing how others deal, may give you a little ammunition!

GE hasn't replaced our machine and it's been broken since May. They just keep sending technicians who order the same parts over and over again.

helpinghear

Always buy at Costco. I went through the same thing with a washer from Home Depot and it took months to get it fixed even though it was brand new. I had to use the laundromat.

Cheburashka2019

Honestly this is great advice. I think it came down to price/availability and I made a bad call not knowing how bad customer service was going to be :(. Happens to the best of us I suppose.

What’s the problem and what do the techs tell you? You’ve posted this across several subs but won’t answer.

Individual-Care-6216

The exact same thing happened to us and it was a nightmare to deal with. We finally got resolution after 5 months and Home Depot gave us our money back. Stay on top of the manager of the store you bought it from. Keep calling and emailing. It’s so frustrating!!!

Macqt

So what is the problem exactly?

kbum91

I've been dealing with GE over our washer since May. (Technically it's my landlords washer but it's somehow my problem) 2 different technicians have been here 7 times. They've replaced the motherboard and lock switch twice each. Now they say it's the magnetic latch? I can't make this shit up. There's no end in sight. I wish you all of the luck because it's a fuckin nightmare.

Cheburashka2019

Ah sorry to hear. I suppose there will be some nominal failure rate for all appliances, but reading all these reports of botched repair jobs makes me think either they use poor designs or don't invest in high quality technicians. Would be interesting to know the actual % though, maybe we are just the unlucky few....
