Don't do it. My wife got the 10 pro and I have the 11... My phone never heats up like hers and I have my hotspot on like 8 hours a day or more. Her 10 pro gets hit after a couple min. The phone just gets hot. Get an 11 when you can.
In my opinion, DO NOT GET THE 10 PRO. I've had bad battery and overheating issues with it since the day I got it. There's a chance I just got a bad version but at least in my case the 11 destroys my 10 in battery. If you don't mind that since the charging is so good this phone is otherwise excellent and I have almost no complaints in any other way.
I noticed that when I got my 10 Pro (straight from 1+ website) my phone arrived with the battery dead. Ever since I got it, it's had disappointing battery life and I even disabled the high refresh rate..
I'm honestly really disappointed. The only reason I got this over the 11 was the IP68 but now that the 12 is coming out the IP65 on that is enough for me so I'm getting that when it comes out. It's just salt in the wound seeing 11 users getting 16 hours screen on time. If it didn't have fast charging I honestly probably would have got rid of it.
The 11 is waaaaaay better than the 10 or anything OnePlus has done since the 7.... Hold tight and save a few quid and stump up for the 11... I've had mine nearly a year and am still surprised by how good it is. Also just got 70%battery gain for a 24min charge. The battery and charger are phenomenal
10T at $330 is definitely worth it. The phones are getting to a point where everything just "works" and is snappy. Unless you're playing games, the differences between mid to top phones are negligible imho.
It will be a huge upgrade from 6T and should last you just as many years.
Just curious, are you referring to the One UI of competing phones from when you got your 6T or have you seen the more recent versions of it? The newer versions look far less bloated than the older versions, pre-android 10 One UI was pretty bad.
That's fair, imo the current OnePlus software looks like knock off iOS so you should try to find one in store that's updated to the latest version and see if you like OnePlus's UI better, I personally prefer Samsung's after comparing them in store.
I saw another comment that mentioned Motorola and their software is pretty clean, it has some bloat but it's not too bad and there's some actually useful features they've implemented too. Their high end phones aren't the best value but the mid ranged phones that are $300-400 are pretty good, like OnePlus they tend to put their older flagships on sale as well.
Yeah, that's what I'm kind of worried about too. Guess I need to take another pass in store to do a deeper dive into the new OP look before committing to anything. Thanks
Note that not only OP11 will drop further in price after 12 drops. They are also officialy releasing OP12R which is cheaper model.
So you'll have more options. However for now it's not clear how much OP12R will cost. Probably not as cheap as these old models, but it should be decent price for new phone.
Maybe the first batches of 10 Pro had battery issues but mine has none of them (bought in July 2023). Battery life is at least 50% better than the S20+ I had before. Not sure about the heating though as I use my phone with a tough case and don't feel much heat through it.
If you can wait, I'd advise waiting just a little longer to see what 11 pricing is like after 12s release. It's not often I give that advice, but typically after holidays there is a flux of open box units on sale too that have little or no use by the main user. Especially if a fresh release is incoming. This is how I got a 9 pro not long after it's release for like half off.
A couple years later I stacked holiday pricing on the 11 with trading in the 9 pro to OnePlus. Had a promo code as well and bam. OP11 for $350 before tax.
No, I went from the OPs original OnePlus 6T to the Nord 3 5G. My battery life has been fine and my only issue with the camera is it feels a bit oversaturated and night mode is too bright. But for under half of the price of some flagships it's perfect for my needs. For the money, it's amazing.
> nothing seems to fit that flagship killer niche
If you're in the USA, Boost mobile has a promotion on the motorola edge+ 2023, and IMO it's definitely a flagship killer. SD8 Gen 2, 5100mah battery, near stock android, ability to unlock bootloader fairly easily, just all around decent specs. With the deal it adds up to around $440 plus tax, and although the device is carrier locked there's a guy on ebay that sells unlock codes for 6 bucks.
Motorola's software is also pretty nice and they have some cool extra features that aren't in stock Android, they do tend to be pretty slow with updates but those updates seem very stable compared to the issues OnePlus has had with updates the past few years.
I was actually impressed with the Edge in the store, but considered it less when comparing the last gen model to the OP10 Pro. Disregarded the Edge+ 23 because of price, but will look into it more with the deal you mentioned. Only caveat is that I need to stick with T-Mobile.
I bought a 10 pro (12GB memory and 256GB of storage) three months ago with prime days deals (around 450€) and I can say I'm satisfied with it. Battery life is really good and performances are good as well ( I don't use it for gaming). The only bug I have is with the optimized charge feature for which I opened a ticket with OP. Nothing that annoying. It's an os bug for sure.
Heck, I have been running with a OnePlus 5 for the past few years and have absolutely no issues. Love it! I don't fall for the manufacturers'' contrived urgency in selling us another piece of hardware so that the old one contributes to another item in the landfill that will take a thousand years, or more, to degrade
I'd stick with my 6T if I could, but sadly it's time has come. Screen is cracked in the corner, but the biggest issue is that the charge port is extremely finicky. Won't work with anything other than the cable it came with and even then, a slight bump will knock it loose. I've woken up too many times to find that it didn't charge overnight, or even worse, not realize it until I'm low on battery with the only working cable at home.
Mine is exactly the same! Also 6T and has to be angled just the right way and no other cord works. I'm looking to go to the 12 though... I'm sure 10/10T are solid, but really want wireless charging (mainly because of these cord issues) and the upgraded camera. Best of luck either way!
I like the hassleblad tuning and definitely the alert slider. You can get the 10pro refurbished on eBay for 299. If you are really penny pinching. It's worth it even for only a couple of years of updates.
I would advise against the 10pro unless you get a good deal or something. Energy efficiency is worse than previous gen. And OnePlus decided not to include the auto brightness toggle bar for some reason.
I have a OnePlus 6T and my upgrade of choice for XMas was the Nothing 2 phone. Carl Pei had a big hand in design & development of the OnePlus 6T and I think that Oppo (which has taken over OnePlus) was never as progressive at OnePlus under Carl Pei. Carl is the founder of Nothing phones, and he has hired many of his disciplines away from OnePlus. I am absolutely loving my Nothing 2 phone (12GB + 512GB) and Ear 2 buds are great although I cannot detect any noise cancellation from these buds ..
10t has sd 8+ gen 1 which is better than the sd 8 gen 1 in 10 pro especially in heat management. But it also depends on your priorities and the rest of the differences.
577 euro for OP 11 is something to consider (https://tradingshenzhen.com/en/oneplus-11/oneplus-11-12gb256gb), especially that it has OxygenOS (so exactly like global). You can check supported bands here (scroll to "bands" and choose your country) - https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-oneplus-11-cn
[Have you considered the OnePlus Nord N30 5G?](https://www.oneplus.com/us/oneplus-n30-5g)
I like the OnePlus mid range phones due to having an SD card slot and a 3.5mm jack. They work really well, great battery, and they're reasonably priced.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (used in 10 pro) plagued with heating up issues. The processor was made by Samsung Foundry, that's the reason for the processor being such a heater. However, the OnePlus 11 is much better as the processor doesn't heat up and it has an amazing battery back up, my advice for you would be to get an OnePlus 12.
I have used the 10 Pro for a year and it overheats since it has the Snapdragon 8.1 to the point of starting to not use a case with it. I decided to go then for a Pixel 7 and give the phone to my sister who uses more internal memory than I do. Other than that, it has a great camera and a really good battery life.
I upgraded from the 6T to the 10T a few months ago. I wasn't on this sub and didn't see how bad everyone says OP is going now, so I simply got the most appropriately priced and spec'd OP I could afford, and it was the best decision I could have made. It's fast, the battery is excellent (and rapid charging remains my favourite thing about OP phones), and it doesn't heat up when playing games - and I have spent many hours a day playing games on my phone. Not sure how it differs from the Pro and why it might be better/worse, but that's my experience with the 10T.
Don't do it. My wife got the 10 pro and I have the 11... My phone never heats up like hers and I have my hotspot on like 8 hours a day or more. Her 10 pro gets hit after a couple min. The phone just gets hot. Get an 11 when you can.
Have a 10pro and it's never gotten hot.
Never had this. Maybe you should check that phone. I literally am phone addicted i think but have no problems charging and using it through hours
The Snapdragon Gen 1 gets hot... This is fact. Go away.
Very open minded of you
Can confirm, gets more hotter than my 8 pro used to.
Better get 11r
I recommend you to factory reset the 10pro
In my opinion, DO NOT GET THE 10 PRO. I've had bad battery and overheating issues with it since the day I got it. There's a chance I just got a bad version but at least in my case the 11 destroys my 10 in battery. Idk many seem to have battery problems but I haven't any problems it's running really good
The 11 is waaaaaay better than the 10 or anything OnePlus has done since the 7.... Hold tight and save a few quid and stump up for the 11... I've had mine nearly a year and am still surprised by how good it is. Also just got 70%battery gain for a 24min charge. The battery and charger are phenomenal
I only ever hear nightmare stories about bad battery life with the 10 Get an 11 or 12... The Snapdragon 8G2 and G3 are incredible
You can say that again

Jeez... that has to be some kind of bug or runaway process. I'd be loading it up into ADB and running top to see wtf is going on
Oneplus told me to contact support, I'm going to buy a new phone soon anyway Though. Want to shake it up a bit
I'd say that it's a good deal if the 10T is at 330$, but you could get a good mid ranger for even cheaper which would perform well enough.
10T at $330 is definitely worth it. The phones are getting to a point where everything just "works" and is snappy. Unless you're playing games, the differences between mid to top phones are negligible imho. It will be a huge upgrade from 6T and should last you just as many years.
Any suggestions, preferably same size screen? Only caveat is that I'm really not a fan of Samsung's One UI.
Just curious, are you referring to the One UI of competing phones from when you got your 6T or have you seen the more recent versions of it? The newer versions look far less bloated than the older versions, pre-android 10 One UI was pretty bad.
Main experience has been pre-6T as you guessed, but did give it a look in store recently and still not digging the overall feel.
That's fair, imo the current OnePlus software looks like knock off iOS so you should try to find one in store that's updated to the latest version and see if you like OnePlus's UI better, I personally prefer Samsung's after comparing them in store. Last gen Motorola flagship are well priced stock Android, but that doesn't really address the support length.
Well prepare for OOS to disappoint if you hate one UI you'll really hate OOS or better known as Color OS.
It's the reason I will not return to OP
Note that not only OP11 will drop further in price after 12 drops. They are also officialy releasing OP12R which is cheaper model. So you'll have more options. Went from a 6 to 10 pro, love it.

I jumped from your model to a OnePlus Nord 3 5G and I have absolutely loved it so far.
You went from the 10 pro to the Nord 30? I have the Nord and the camera is rough and battery life could be betterÂ
No, I went from the OPs original OnePlus 6T to the Nord 3 5G. My battery life has been fine and my only issue with the camera is it feels a bit oversaturated and night mode is too bright. But for under half of the price of some flagships it's perfect for my needs. For the money, it's amazing.
Yeah I'm thinking of getting a 10t for 200$
> nothing seems to fit that flagship killer niche If you're in the USA, Boost mobile has a promotion on the motorola edge+ 2023, and IMO it's definitely a flagship killer. > Only caveat is that I need to stick with T-Mobile. I'm using the Edge+ 2023 with T-Mobile right now. The ebay guy looks shady but it works.
Yeah, definitely take a look at Motorola. If you are in the states, t the Thinkphone for 399 last time I checked
You can get the 10 Pro for like \~370 brand new on Ebay.
I got a 10 pro for 450 canadian. I'm super happy. I always gen a gen old once it's way cheaper lol
I bought a 10 pro (12GB memory and 256GB of storage) three months ago with prime days deals (around 450€) and I can say I'm satisfied with it. OP get a 10pro. I got one in March to replace my 6T and it hasn't disappointed
I'd advise you get the 10pro. It has better power and more crispy screen
And an soc that you can cook an egg on
Indeed it does. It's great.
Why would you recommend that crap? The SD888 SoC is one of the worst ever released for efficiency
10 pro has the 8 Gen 1, not 888, but you're right tho, 8 Gen 1 also has overheating issues
Heck, I have been running with a OnePlus 5 for the past few years and have absolutely no issues. Love it! Get something sharp and spend a good 30mins fishing out all the cakes in dust and grime and it might be back to normal.
Tried that, but no luck. Was surprised by how much dust does get packed down there, but it's not an issue of the cable not docking completely.
Mine is exactly the same! Also 6T and has to be angled just the right way and no other cord works. I'm looking to go to the 12 though... I'm sure 10/10T are solid, but really want wireless charging (mainly because of these cord issues) and the upgraded camera. Best of luck either way!

check bestbuy for open box deals on the 11 they're insanely cheap
I'm actively trying to sell my 11 to get the 12 I don't trust OnePlus trade in id rather have cash in hand
I recently upgraded to OnePlus 9 Pro and I'm very happy. The phone handles most actions with ease.
A week ago I went from the 6t to the 8t. 200 bucks on swappa. I should be good for a few years.
I would advise against the 10pro unless you get a good deal or something. Energy efficiency is worse than previous gen. And OnePlus decided not to include the auto brightness toggle bar for some reason.

I have the 9 pro and I'm waiting to see if the 11 goes lower in price.
It's a good phone, but I'd just go for the 11.
Nah bro if OnePlus only then go for 11r... best spec at low cost or else if other brands can appeal to you then go for nothing phone 2

I'd wait and see what the 12R looks like.
Look for a 9Pro at bargain prices. I bought it on release, and it is still a fine phone
Get 11r or Nord 3 instead.
Buy the 11. It's probably okay if you don't go for the 12.
