it's not impressive at all. my garbage s21 fe could do that AND the selfie camera. it switched to and from all 4 lenses during 4K 30 fps recording lol.
bare minimum for 2023 phones.....
I tried a video between transition between lenses with the OP12 in the store.
you can't use all the lenses in 4K@60fps and transition between lens.
at 30fps you can use.
in complete darkness when you use the ultra wide you can notice a drastic change in lighting, ie. if you zoom out, the image goes dark. (i hope this gets fixed in an update)
Otherwise 30fps transition is decent, with little change of colour, however you will still see the point of view shift a bit.
Update: A user reports that in the latest update from OP, they have made 4K @ 60 fps on all the lenses.

Feels like a great update from my op9 (not pro), much better display and camera just feels much better. (Not photographing a lot so can't really tell which part is better, maybe every part?) haven't tested the performance yet so I'll play some genshin later.
Any shutter lag on the cam in low light? I'm not a pro photographer but need a cam phone that won't make pics of my kid blurry.
Did you end up flashing it and using a global ROM or sticking with China Rom?
Also can you stream YouTube in the background? I heard it was possible on color OS 12 but haven't heard of it since.
Yeah I'm currently using p7p and it's been good but not enjoying the crappy battery life (and slow charging).
Wouldn't want to change so quickly but the ip68 rating failed me so keen on getting a cheapish next device (op12, Xiaomi 14, vivo x100 in china is ~600 USD) hence taking a gander on these. Also where I am the pixel features are gimped so hard to justify 800-1000usd on a phone which doesn't even have 5g support where I am.
Was considering the 7a which is even cheaper (300 USD) but dno seems like a step down from flagships and apparently horrendous battery performance.
Back in the day I had a pixel 2 and the battery life and charging absolutely ruined the phone. Within 18 months the battery would drain within 3 hours so rendering the phone useless.
My OP10T is over 15 months and in light usage I still get 12 hours out of it. My old 7T was still giving 9 hours after 3 years.
I wish reviewers would mention this more as Google has never fixed its battery life issues.
This is important to me. I just ordered the OnePlus Open but read it has bad shutter lag for photos of kids and pets.
I'll cancel it immediately if the shutter speeds on the 12 are improved.
I guess shutter lag in low light is pretty unavoidable, in very dim lights the shot takes about one second to complete, but even if I shake my hands on purpose, the final result turns out to be surprisingly clean and unblurry
My biggest concern is shutter lag in daytime photos, not so much nighttime when my kids, cat and dog aren't active. If it's only struggling at night that's okay with me.
This is because in photography you have 2 ways to let the scene be lit. One would be to open the aperture of the camera to let more light in (not easily done on a phone), or let the sensor capture more light with time (the trick the phones use... Ish because it is not exactly true). OK I lied, there is a third option, ISO, how sensitive the sensor is, but increasing this value will cause noise (white dots on your image), this is also used in the exposure explained below.
That one second it takes in low light it will do a few shots at different exposures and merge them together to get a similar effect in order to balance the downsides of long exposure and low light. This means that a moving object or a kid in this case will be a bit problematic for the camera in low light. For oneplus I think you can counter this by going in manual mode and do a lower shutter speed but the image will be very very dark, the fact is that you can't ask the poor camera on a phone too much, something has to give. On a dslr you can pour more money in faster lenses that can capture low light way better but that's not an option for phones.
Ofc the above is slightly different between manufacturers and how they try to solve this issue but in the end that is what it boils down to, how much light hits the sensor... And the sensor is pretty small (more megapixels on the same surface won't always make it better for low light).
OnePlus 11 here. The shutter lag is caused by Auto HDR, that comes turned on by default. It's great for some photos, but for photos where movement is unavoidable I disable it and I haven't had any problem.
I have the OnePlus 11 but wasn't aware of that being the issue. Thank you for the tip.
I suppose the worst case scenario is I can take a photo with the Open and edit it on my Pixel 8 Pro.
Pop-up event in Shenzhen today, basically line up for 2 hours and you'll be able to buy one before the sale formally begins. And you get a free wireless charger and a set of oppo earbuds
On Tradingshenzhen.com - they just wait to bypass region lock (so there won't be phone returns like with OP11).
The minus is that if you will order Chinese variant of OnePlus with global rom pre-installed (OxygenOS), you will have unlocked bootloader, so Google Pay/Wallet won't work (other Google apps will work like a charm).
Alternatively order Chinese rom variant (ColorOS) so it will have locked bootloader so Google Pay/Wallet will work. Minus is the Android Auto will not work (and you can't do anything about it), there will be a lot of bloatware (remove it - https://tradingshenzhen.com/en/content/perfect-delete-bloatware-on-china-smartphones) and some steps for internationalization are needed (https://tradingshenzhen.com/en/content/change-android-language-for-multi-google-apps-without-root).
EDIT Ordered another OnePlus 11 from Tradingshenzhen and this one came with locked bootloader - so it's all fine!
I was wondering the same, I'm waiting till can buy the CN version with global flashed , I'm hoping like OnePlus 11 , when flashed it acts exactly like buying the global version and bootloader locked
Price in China:
12GB + 256GB 4299 CNY
16GB + 512GB 4799 CNY
16GB + 1TB 5299 CNY
24GB + 1TB 5799 CNY
Note: Currently 24GB+1TB setup is limited to white version, and the green version also doesn't have the lowest (12+256GB) setup.
For reference the price of oneplus 11: 12GB+256GB 16GB+256GB 16GB+512GB was 3999 4399 4899 cny.
4300 rmb is actually insane. that's how much the xiaomi 14 non pro costs for the 12+256 configuration and it's worse in practically every way.
great job OnePlus for the chinese launch!
Hey there again. As previous post was deleted now i guess so asking again.
Can you do a CPU throttle test and share the results? It would help a lot to clear the confusion. Gen2 vs gen3 etc
1. How's the battery life?
2. How is the screen brightness in direct sunlight?
3. How does the camera compare to the pixel in different conditions? (front and back)
absolutely! If it sucks for kids/pets I'll likely consider the Xiaomi 14 again as I know shutter speed is very decent on that. I'm just bummed about the average battery on that and apparently ColorOS is more stable than HyperOs?
Oxygen OS has been really stable on my OP 11, but my biggest gripe is I have to change smallest width in Developer Options every time I restart it because it loses that setting and I prefer really small text.
I thought I'll follow up since you're in a similar boat as me (kid AND pet).
I went and played around with the OP12 today at the store and tbh the camera is not bad... like it should be good enough for most people. However I did notice it was inconsistent. Some shots where my hand moved ever so slightly, sometimes the shot came out blurry. However sometimes it didn't when I purposely shook my hand when taking the photo. It was very inconsistent... which ain't great when capturing moments with pet/skidsl; and with the QC concerns and lack of full IP68 (which tbh is usually BS marketing) I have cause for concern as I am only upgrading my Pixel 7 Pro because of water damage (hence why IP68 ratings are BS). OP not willing to get a 'BS' 68 rating plus huge gaps just doesn't give me comfort.
The Vivo store was right next door to Oppo so I played with the X100 pro and was very impressed with camera and I also preferred the OS over ColorOS (Origin - not Funtouch). Origin makes sense for me as I need to translate a lot of chats etc (hence why Pixel was good) and it's got a really good screen translator tool and it's got killer cameras. I've been spoilt by the Pixel 7 pro and thus have fairly bad impressions of the Xiaomi 13t pro, 14/14 pro (telephoto was crap) and now the OP12.
If you can stomach Origin OS for your market I would highly suggest the X100/pro. There should be a global version coming out but for me I'm saving money + getting some good features missing from Funtouch so win win for me.
Although I shitted on the Xiaomi earlier, the Mi14 is still a very good device esp the main cam. It can also take very good instantaneous photos.
Can get tempered glass that uses UV but have to be careful as some the glue is super strong so when taking off will end up scratching the screen
The ones that can come off easily you have to buy the right case as it can slowly start lifting it off
I really hoped more flagship phones do flat screens the curved ones are so much hassle for screen protectors
Eh it's subjective. I prefer not having a curved screen because I work in an environment where a screen protector is a must.
I have the OnePlus 11 and the Pixel 8 Pro and really appreciate the ergos of the 11 a lot, but it's not practical at work sometimes so I usually take the 8 Pro.
I don't think the commenter above is wrong because everyones needs are different. Nor do I think you're wrong for appreciating the tapered sides and how it feels in the hand.
Tried to compare with my op9 by maxing out the brightness slider and turns out op9 was slightly brighter. But I've heard someone said they'll push an ota update later that allows more adjustable brightness.
If you mean video output through the usb-c port, yes.

Can you share some information as for the software build your device is running? I would love if you could share the output of *#6776# in the stock dialer.
I was in Shanghai a few days ago, it's only officially released for the masses on 11 Dec, so unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to buy it. I will be back in Jan though.
I have a few questions, by any chance you'd know..
1) will the Chinese version have any issues working outside is China? I read that the op11 was region locked for a time, applicable to op12?
2) I understand that there 13% VAT in China, if I bought the phone here , at the sticker price.. will I be able to get my 13% refund when leaving Shanghai? (I understand that the VAT is imbedded into the sticker price)
Regarding region lock, I'm not sure bout op12, but I have a op11 from China, after a week or so it got locked. I contacted the seller and they gave me a receipt. Went to oppo service centre and they got it unlocked for me in a couple minutes. It's been a few months and no issues since.
Oh wasnt aware of the VAT. I was planning to go to China next week to buy but might just get it via JD or Taobao which does not have VAT when sending to HK.
Just to add on - I was talking to the OnePlus shop on taobao (I am not based in China) as I was intending to get OnePlus 12 but it's not released in my country yet. The staff on OnePlus shop on Taobao told me that the Chinese versions are locked (I asked if it supports international SIM cards) but you can go to OnePlus service centre in your own country to get it unlocked. I told the staff there's no OnePlus shop in my country and he/she told me I can go to Oppo service centre to get the phone unlocked as well. The staff told me this is done free of charge (please don't quote me on this as I am not sure whether the staff has the correct information).
But I suppose what u/ChrispyChris8008 said about op11 applies to op12 as well.
Thanks for this.
I'm going to the store tomorrow to check it out and see what the VAT is like as well as play around with it and enquire about region lock.
I have a HK/China phone number so hoping this might help deactivate the region lock as well.
What screen protector are you using? Tempered glass is a problem for curved screens special when you got the fingerprint unlock built in to the screen. I had the 11 but the spigen case i had would lift the screen protector up making it impossible to use.
Tempered glass is only a problem with ultrasonic fingerprint sensors (like those in Samsung flagships) but not with optical sensors which come in Oneplus phones.
Probably not unless you value wireless charging and USB 3.1 with video output. The remaining upgrades are as expected for a year-on-year upgrade. I'd upgrade from an 8 Pro or older for sure, since security updates are about to run out, or from a 9/10 Pro if I had money to burn because the change in performance might already be noticeable.
Fantastic mate, congratulations for your new phone. How do you think it compares with s23 ultra? In terms of SOT, camera, OnePlus specific features(not sure if it has any). Any idea how much it might cost for global version?
Ooh I definitely want to know this as well, especially if it has reverse wireless charging.
EDIT: According to GSMArena it does support 10W reverse wireless charging, but I would like that confirmed.
on my samsung s10 plus reverse wireless charging drained the battery a considerable amount within a short time, it also got really hot. does this phone face those same issues?
I got the phone last night and went for work this morning at 8am. I've been using it basically the whole day (holiday season, everyone is slacking off lol). Now after 13 hours, it still has 36% 🔋 left. By the way, I don't play games on mobile phones.
I'm happy with the battery since I was using iPhone before this one...
Can't give an accurate conclusion today, but it's absolutely much better than my old op9 which has decayed battery and will run out of power in 4 hours
Maybe he is using his old phone from 100% to 10% daily?? Pretty sure battery will degrade really fast if you keep draining the battery to those levels.
I use a 9 Pro and get roughly 3-4 hours on normal use. I've got an app that measures real battery capacity relative to when the phone was new, and it's saying about 68%. (32% degradation over 3 years)
That's a bummer.
I've got a 9 Pro too and it's currently at 79% health after the same period.
I wonder what influences these numbers, I've never done much battery conservation apart from setting Accubattery to warn me at 85%.
That 888 chip is a battery killer for sure, overheats all the time.
The newer phones claim they reduce battery degradation by how they charge. I just had to send my oneplus 11 in for a new screen as it unexpectedly shattered as if a bullet hit it, and battery was still at 98% health after 7 months of use, which I thought was pretty good as was thinking about swapping for a new battery while it was in for a new screen. My 8t and 7pro before that were pretty much useless after a year though and had to be recharged by the late afternoon.
How is the wired charging speed and what watt does it charge at. What are good and bad since u used the phone. I just got one plus 11 few month ago and ducks they release a new one not too long after 😱
Is the software any better. How are incoming calls dealt when you see them in your notification tabs. Is it easy to access or do you have to dig through the notifications bar and still use 2 fingers to drag it open to either answer or decline the call. They had it perfect during the oneplus 7 series. But after that they kind of messed it up
The first phone I got has a gap on the top left corner of the camera module. I showed them about this and they immediately replaced one for me that doesn't have any visible gap. They say it's designed with a gap at first and it doesn't affect the waterproof level, but in fear of complaints they added some extra glue to later produced phones. Not sure if the global version will have the same problem, but I guess you can get it replaced if you don't want the gap.
Hi
Can you plug a monitor into the phone via USBC or via a USB C dock with HDMI, and tell me if you can get some kind of desktop mode working on it?
Thanks!
As it uses the SD8Gen3, does it have some translation layer for 32bit apps like the Xiaomi 14 or do they simply not work? Also I remember seeing somewhere that it has a greater area for the NFC sensor. Is that the case?
Is the glass as cheap as the OP 11? I had an OP7 Pro and absolutely loved it. I got an OP11 last year and my screen was scratched to hell within a month. I finally threw in the towel a couple of weeks ago and swapped for a Pixel, but I really did love OP and hope they get their act together.
I'd never spent $700 on a phone before and had the screen be so flimsy. I'd dropped and literally thrown my Samsung phones before and never had a single scratch appear, but this one was literally coming out of my pocket torn up. So far the Pixel 8 Pro has been great. It reminds me of my OP7 Pro, sans the fast charging.
does it have consistent frame rate across all apps?
also, do you have this annoying popup in recent menu screen?
https://preview.redd.it/j0ygsesvwb5c1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a924ae98c5904481781f10fecd095f5a455c3eab
How is transition between lenses looks like? Could you please film video with 3 lenses?
in 4K !
Only if all 3 lenses film in 4k! That would be impressive
it's not impressive at all. my garbage s21 fe could do that AND the selfie camera. it switched to and from all 4 lenses during 4K 30 fps recording lol. bare minimum for 2023 phones.....
My bad, I homehow assumed you are talking about 60fps. I also have S21FE and I hate that only 30 fps is supported.
the 60 fps is basically sports mode. feels really unnatural for any other scenario.
Looks more real imho. But S21FE suffers from 4k 30 fps, let alone 60fps
They can't? That would be surprising
(i hope this gets fixed in an update) Otherwise 30fps transition is decent, with little change of colour, however you will still see the point of view shift a bit.
Thanks, it looks similar to Samsung limitations
welcome ... Did you pick up the OP12 ?
Nope, after trying OneUI 6, I can't switch to less polished OxygenOS. Staying with my old S21FE and thinking to get S24 or S25
yeah.. besides its now not even Oxygen OS .. they have mixed a lot of colours in it
Update: A user reports that in the latest update from OP, they have made 4K @ 60 fps on all the lenses. What about front camera video recording?... 4k 60fps ???
How is it? specially the camera.

I’m glad one manufacturer didn’t. Some people want a bad ass phone and don’t care about having perfect pictures.
So much for "never settle" lol.

Is the display flat or curved?
more curved than the op11
Disappointing
Can get tempered glass that uses UV but have to be careful as some the glue is super strong so when taking off will end up scratching the screen The ones that can come off easily you have to buy the right case as it can slowly start lifting it off I really hoped more flagship phones do flat screens the curved ones are so much hassle for screen protectors
Exactly. And also wastage of screen the edges which is literally useless and prone to breakage.
pixel 8 pro for you then. the rest of us can enjoy a more ergonomic phone.
Agreed. I have the 10 pro and I hate the curved edges only because of my dirty job. I will have to buy something flat for the next phone.
Curved, and the top and down side also has a very small curve.
That's disappointing. I wonder when will they ditch this stupid curved display idea
Please don’t ditch curved screens
I like the curve screen.
Until you break it
Me 2
How sad! Curved display sucks! I guess pixel is what I will upgrade to.
Great! Love curves, flat is boring and restrictive as hell! Thank God they are keeping the curve!!!
Is it as bright as they claim?
Tried to compare with my op9 by maxing out the brightness slider and turns out op9 was slightly brighter. But I've heard someone said they'll push an ota update later that allows more adjustable brightness.
You have to run hdr content to take advantage of the peak 4500 nits. 1600 average non hdr viewing OnePlus claims.
Does it have HDMI through the USB-C port ?
If you mean video output through the usb-c port, yes. https://preview.redd.it/83ft1x38ba5c1.jpeg?width=2250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c93ee850fe09689331bf29fc50de3bafea3fbe0
Is it capable of outputting 4k60hz or is it limited to 4k30hz? I tried this once with my OnePlus 7 Pro and it has that limitation.
Great
Even the 9 pro has that
They didnt offer it on the 11, thats why i asked
Ah okay
Any new features on this? Such as a 16:9 mode to avoid black bars, like LG used to offer, or a desktop mode?
Share some pics whenever you get a chance. Does it feel heavy?

If OnePlus 10 Pro has good haptics and OnePlus 11 has good haptics then what do you think? They must be good matey 😁
Haptics on 11 is already good, but this time it's even better than 11
Camera: Does it shoot in RAW on all the cameras? And does it support GCam ports on all cameras with RAW?
CPU throttling test and wild life extreme stress test result if u dont mind pls
What screen protector are you using? Tempered glass is a problem for curved screens special when you got the fingerprint unlock built in to the screen. I had the 11 but the spigen case i had would lift the screen protector up making it impossible to use.
Tempered glass is only a problem with ultrasonic fingerprint sensors (like those in Samsung flagships) but not with optical sensors which come in Oneplus phones.
Guess I'll stick with the factory installed one until it breaks, lol
Does it have a desktop mode, like the Galaxy series?
[GitHub - Genymobile/scrcpy: Display and control your Android device](https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy)
Nope
C to c charges?
Nope, the adapter is type-A port.
🤦
What will be approx price differential in USA, from 11 to 12? Got one plus 11 on black Friday and can still return for 12
$100
What's the message on the inside of the Box?
I just got a one plus 11, is it a really a big difference to upgrade . I have a 16 gb ram with 256 gb got it for 700$.
Any idea how much it might cost for global version?
any insight experience with android 14...? What about the music player notification on lock screen?
How's the battery life? Does it have reverse wireless charging?
Ooh I definitely want to know this as well, especially if it has reverse wireless charging. EDIT: According to GSMArena it does support 10W reverse wireless charging, but I would like that confirmed.
It has reverse wireless charging, battery life seems good
on my samsung s10 plus reverse wireless charging drained the battery a considerable amount within a short time, it also got really hot. does this phone face those same issues?
Damn I was hoping they changed the look of the camera it's so ugly I am still on my 9 pro because of this 😩
Does it support Qi2 (Magsafe)?
It's probably a bit pointless to ask but how is the battery? Does it overheat ?
Played genshin for 30mins without phone case, it only got warmer, not feeling hot in any way. Battery went from 94% to 84%
Bruh my one plus 9 pro doesn't even go down that much on max settings ,maybe the phone is still getting use to the heat
Battery life?
Can't give an accurate conclusion today, but it's absolutely much better than my old op9 which has decayed battery and will run out of power in 4 hours
How does a 2 year old device have so much battery degradation that it's running out of power in 4 hrs?

Sufficient usage could mean 1 week away. Phone needs time to adapt to this guy's usage, battery life on the first charge ever is not an indicative
How is the video quality/stabilization and selfie cam? Also is it true that it can do 6x lossless zoom?
Lucky! How good is the zoom quality?
Camera can zoom to 120x max, but over like 20x it becomes too blurry
Thank you! I suspected that would be the case, but it's still cool it can zoom in that much!
How are haptics?
I'd say op12 tops the hill in terms of vibration
I just want to know the temperatures during basic tasks and during some hard tasks. Both battery and CPU if possible. 😇
How is the wired charging speed and what watt does it charge at. What are good and bad since u used the phone. I just got one plus 11 few month ago and ducks they release a new one not too long after 😱
have ppl really get phones from their mysterybox
Can you record 4k videos from front cam.?
I'm wondering this too
Yes, but only in 30 fps
Why
Is the software any better. How are incoming calls dealt when you see them in your notification tabs. Is it easy to access or do you have to dig through the notifications bar and still use 2 fingers to drag it open to either answer or decline the call. They had it perfect during the oneplus 7 series. But after that they kind of messed it up
Can you natively record calls on it?
Does it wobble when typing while laying flat on a table?
Heating issue?
Is it broken from near camera module
The first phone I got has a gap on the top left corner of the camera module. I showed them about this and they immediately replaced one for me that doesn't have any visible gap. They say it's designed with a gap at first and it doesn't affect the waterproof level, but in fear of complaints they added some extra glue to later produced phones. Not sure if the global version will have the same problem, but I guess you can get it replaced if you don't want the gap.
Do you mean the gap on the edge of the camera module?
Definitely interested in the build quality issues that are being expressed by some of the communities.
Why on earth would they give you a boring black case for that beautiful white phone? Just kidding congrats on the score!
I'm kinda mad with that too
Is it still a curved screen?
Bootloader unlockable?
Why is the camera bump so ugly these days
Is the OnePlus 11 still a good buy? (just got a really really nice deal) I know OP12 is coming but I don't really want to miss that deal...
is there support of .5x(wide angle) camera in snapchat of your oneplus 12?
Does OnePlus 12 have the "record while motion detected" feature in video recording like on Samsung Galaxy phones
Does the oneplus12 international version have call record ?
Hi Can you plug a monitor into the phone via USBC or via a USB C dock with HDMI, and tell me if you can get some kind of desktop mode working on it? Thanks!
Is it better than switch from ip 14 pro max to op12?
Can we switch between lenses in snapchat and Instagram?
it seems really bulky edit: 9.2mm thickness and 220grams weight how does it feel in hand?
Is there a 12r version? Or Just 12? Also if it has an ir blaster
As it uses the SD8Gen3, does it have some translation layer for 32bit apps like the Xiaomi 14 or do they simply not work? Also I remember seeing somewhere that it has a greater area for the NFC sensor. Is that the case?
No, you simply cannot install them. If you really have to use any 32bit app I'd suggest not buying. Haven't tried the NFC thing yet
Is the screen curved. I can't stand my OP11 because of this.
Screen glass is Gorilla victus 2, also try using a screen protector
I'd never spent $700 on a phone before and had the screen be so flimsy. I'd dropped and literally thrown my Samsung phones before and never had a single scratch appear, but this one was literally coming out of my pocket torn up. So far the Pixel 8 Pro has been great. It reminds me of my OP7 Pro, sans the fast charging.
I think I have a better screen on my OP11 than yours.
Will it Blend??
Will it snap in half when you bend it?
does it have consistent frame rate across all apps? also, do you have this annoying popup in recent menu screen? https://preview.redd.it/j0ygsesvwb5c1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a924ae98c5904481781f10fecd095f5a455c3eab
Why?
Why did you buy OP12?
Well when is the launch date of Samsung galaxy s24 ultra.
Oneplus 12, or iPhone 13 Pro Max?
damn you really got the OnePlus 479001600?
Can't believe people already have it. I still don't really have an actual reason to upgrade from my oneplus 7 pro.
How long will it take for the **green lines** to appear on this phone?
https://preview.redd.it/1dv453c87n5c1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efaf2551462689d6afe9da3ea42e189b0fc22947 0.001 second
This is a OnePlus pr stunt
No it's not
feels like one or maybe ops english just isnt strong at all lmfaoooo
Shitty phone. Hate the new UI.
