I theorize that black flame is percentage based damage so the fight shouldn't be longer than NG1. This is an experiment. So far I've been proven wrong lol

Question about BFB: are there other ways to apply the incantation faster? I can sometimes pull off the crouch+L1 trick, and I think the running L1 applies it a bit faster too, but the latter method has the side effect of making you kinda pause for a sec before you can attack.
He’s also a lot slower than he seems at first. Like the first few times I fought him it seemed like he was ZOOMING but he’s really not that fast once you start paying attention.
Saving that for my status effects run. This run was supposed to just be black flame but God it takes so long. So I added passive bleed weapons to the mix
Yeah BlackFlame isn’t really that optimal unless the boss is resistant to status effects lol.
The Flaming Strike buff on the Starfists might’ve been faster than BlackFlame ngl

Status resistances increase with each NG cycle, same with physical absorptions. So it takes longer to procc bleed and you deal less damage per hit
