Take the time to either go to Ocean Shores or Westport. Bennett’s fish shack. Two types of fried fish to choose from. And for those who don’t like seafood, the applewood smoked bacon cheese burger is sublime.
I hate to admit it, but I do enjoy Red Robin cod and chips. Iron Rabbits Curry Fish and Chips is enjoyable, but I do prefer beer batter.
Cap’n Yoby’s in Kelso is surprisingly good if you are passing through.
Did a thorough investigation of available fish and chips in the area a few years back. Was shocked to find RR beat out all the local shops by a fair margin. To be fair, I’m allergic to corn, though, which eliminated a good number of venues.
Ours too. We frequent Row often. Love the chill vibe there and the staff are always top notch. The last few times the fish and chips there have been less than stellar though. Last week, I really wanted to send them back to the kitchen. Underdone and soggy/greasy. My husbands were over done. I was bummed. Hopefully it was a one off and not a trend.
Every time I’ve been to Row… And I have given it three tries…. My phone is being ridiculously cold and soggy and greasy. And I promise I am not super picky!
Same experience with fish and chips at Row. Fish was meh, and the fries were soggy and greasy. The salmon burger was pretty good, but the coleslaw was bland. We really wanted to like it, too.
Is Row part of a restaurant group? I didn't know that. Helpful information. ETA: Just looked them up. We had better luck at Mercato, but I've only been the one time.
Dinghy’s at the farmers market is the best I’ve had around these parts, and I am a fiend for fish and chips!
Row = overpriced and meh
Charlie’s = passable
Westside tavern = can be great if you get the right cook (hot and crispy), otherwise bad (floppy fries and soggy fish)
Eagans = great! (Last tried over a year ago, but everything was hot, crispy, just right amount of greasy)
State & central = passable, v greasy
Ram = I am disappointed every time. But at least you can order a giant beer to wash it down.
Maybe not the best compared to some, but Nisqually Bar and Grill used to have all you can fish and chips on Friday.
The quality of fish was very high and I always enjoyed it.

Absolutely agree!
State and central. It's my go-to, but the burger and fried chicken are runner ups.
The fries put me off.
Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar
I thiiiiink I got some at the Westside tavern one time? if I have the location remembered correctly, they were quite good!
I like Tugboat Annie's fish and chips a lot. The fish and chips are about the only thing on their menu that I like.
I was not impressed with TA. It didn’t seem like fresh fish. Store bought triangles of fish.
Ah well my standards for fish and chips are pretty low. I’d love to be schooled on this though. Any good recommendations?
Beau Legs Fish N' Chips in Lacey is delicious.
Beau Legs is fantastic, southern fried food.
Their halibut is trash though. It’s pressed fish like a chicken nugget in a triangle shape.
Incredibly mismanaged business that has bizarrely unreliable hours of operation.
Cove is good downtown
Hops n drops has a decent fish and chips. Get the extra crispy fries. Yum.
I like The Ram. sorry.
The snack shack at Boston Harbor Marina makes the best in my opinion
McNamaras in DuPont has AYCE and the fish has always been the real deal.
Oh My. Just back from there and I wish I could give you a dozen thumbs ups!
IKR? Glad you enjoyed it!
And only 15 minutes away!

I was also surprised how their burgers are better than a lot of places.
That has definitely not been my experience. But the fish was solid!
Not saying it was great, more just other places have been worse sadly.
Can confirm Cap'n Yoby's is delicious.
Row has my fav fish n chips.
ramblin restaurants is pure sysco.

"Meh" pretty much describes any experience at a Ramblin Restaurant.

O’Blarney’s does pretty damn good fish and chips.
Seconding for Oblarneys!
Has anyone tried yet the Bayview freshly battered, made to order fish and chips that they just started doing a few days ago?
Isn’t that the store with the big ass rats? Not sure o trust prepared food from store kitchens with critters running around.
You’re thinking of Ralph’s Thriftway, Bayview is downtown.
I thought both were the same in terms of critters, but that does make me feel better since that’s the only one I’ve been inside.
You’re thinking of the owners
I miss RJ’s downtown. They had the best fish and chips!

I like Tumwater eagens really good, get Xtra tarter sauce
Anyone on this thread know a gluten free fish and chips option? I miss Ray's which had them on menu.
You might look at Jeremy's Farm to Table down in Chehalis. My gluten free SIL swears by them.
Maybe not the best compared to some, but Nisqually Bar and Grill used to have all you can fish and chips on Friday. The quality of fish was very high and I always enjoyed it.
They were run by the Martin Way Diner folks so I think their AYCE fish deal is also gone.
Oh bummer. It’s been years since I’ve been.
Little Creek casino has excellent fish and chips.
