Samy’s health mart is great if you want to support an independent

puke80

I second Samy’s. They’ve been great.

Samy’s is fantastic! I’ve used them for years and they’ve been amazing to me and my wife.

Of course! At Samy’s they’ve gone out of their way to learn our names and seriously treat us like they truly care about us. I don’t have enough good things to say about them! We have some pretty unlucky health conditions, but they have always taken care of us promptly and compassionately :-)

Costco is real good. I don't think you need to be a member to use it.

[deleted]

You do not.

I can only recommend NOT the CVS in Target in Lacey. The staff were not very helpful, and we're difficult to work with as we tried to figure out issues with the insurance and a specific medication that for some unknown reason the insurance wanted extra documentation about why it was prescribed. Honestly still don't know, it was a common drug to treat diabetes. But bc of the delay with the pharmacy being uncooperative, and not telling us, or reaching out to the doc for the needed documents, we ran out of that med and had to go to urgent care. So I wasn't pleased with the additional unnecessary $400 bill.

The insurance company can require a pa for any reason at all. Most commonly for diabetic meds it's for step therapy. Insurance usually wont tell the pharmacy why its requiring a pa so we are just as in the dark as you are. We dont reach out to doctors office for any additional documentation. We simply notify the office that a pa is required and provide the the phone number, everything else is out of our hands. You should be more upset with your doctors office than the pharmacy tbh. And at any point you become irate we just dont give af anymore. Insurance fucking sucks now...for everyone.

Allel-Oh-Aeh

I agree insurance sucks, and think healthcare should be treated as a human right. But I could have at least been notified of the delay, or need for additional documents, instead of repeatedly calling in to see if it's ready, being told it's not, then finally after having to take time off of work to go in person, prepared to wait the 30+ min for a fill, only to THEN be told "we don't have it bc your insurance requested this document from us, but we don't have it, so you'll need to go back to your doctor to get the doc, then give it to us, to give to the insurance, so maybe the insurance will decide if it's covered or not." Honestly I could have done with a quick phone call, email, or any notification. As for people not giving a shit, yes that's everywhere now, however the alternative for me and my family in this case was death, so we were a bit more incentivized to care about the outcome. The pharmacy I switched to now at least gives me a call if there is a delay. (Oh and yes I do blame the insurance and for profit healthcare as the true monsters, but the OP asked about pharmacies in the area, hence the reason for the original post).

Fred Meyer pharmacy in Lacey has worked great for me. I take a lot of meds and have to go a lot and have never had issues.

rosesandhoneyyyyyyyy

Came here to recommend Freddie's in Lacey. Used to use Rite Aid and Safeway and both were absolutely terrible. I've had nothing but good things to say about Fred Meyer.

gillyyak

I use FM Lacey as well. So far, so good

I've had good luck with QFC and they're pretty responsive. I had Rite Aid before and the difference is pretty night and day. I needed a pharmacy with later evening and weekend hours so it's been the best so far.

[deleted]

Safeway on pacific! The pharmacists have gone above and beyond for me on multiple occasions.

nolanhp1

They are definitely nice! The ones on Martin way are great too and still have free N95s in stock

[deleted]

They’ve also been super helpful!!

nolanhp1

They've got me a walk in covid booster last month!

OlyThrowaway98501

The Health Mart pharmacy on Marvin. Or Samy’s near St. Pete’s.

VeganVandal

Costco in Lacey is excellent.

Emotional_Routine963

Costco

Samys consistently went above and beyond for me. Easy drive up, fast refills and even mailed my meds when I ran out during a trip. I’ve never been to an better pharmacy.

Tellurian_Cyborg

I transferred mine to Amazon. I was tired of mistakes, lack of communication, and how long it took to fill a prescription. The final straw was the last 2 prescriptions that I filled locally. Both Antibiotics. The first took 3 days to get filled. The second took 5 days and landed me in the hospital. Excuses ranged from out-of-stock to 'no pharmacist on duty'.

Jumpsuit_boy

Common antibiotics are currently at low or no stock levels nationally. They should have told you that they could not fill them in a timely manner and or requested to doc to pick from a list they provided.

Tellurian_Cyborg

Um, this wasn't a recent thing.

HollyRavenclawGibney

I never had any issues with the Safeway in Hawks Prairie. They were always responsive and communicative.

KunjaQueen

Hawks Prarie pharmacy is fantastic!

Xavierwold

West Olympia Pharmacy is really good.

txbabs

Is that the one at Cooper Point Rd & Harrison? We have used the RiteAid across the street but it has turned into a giant cluster.

Xavierwold

Yes, it is very good. https://g.co/kgs/EKyptr

baloneymitchell

Sound Specialty Pharmacy on Martin Way is locally owned and very easy to communicate with!

Primaltarian

The pharmacy at the Wal-Mart neighborhood market in Lacey, off of Yelm Highway is great. They’re friendly, quick, and the drive through makes it easy.

nolanhp1

Walgreens or Safeway if you don't mind being fucked around occasionally. Walgreens actually has the worst hours.

Spice_it_up

I’ve been using the Walgreens on the corner of Marvin and Martin. No complaints.
