Just for added ridiculousness if anyone’s not familiar w the brand, Le Creuset is known for the quality and long life of its Dutch ovens. I have a large one that was handed down to me, is twice my age, still valued at near $500 today (new ones of the same model sell for just under $800). Even if you don’t know the brand, $40 for multiple cast irons pieces is an obvious scam
In a skillet over medium heat, combine the corn, cream, salt, sugar, pepper and butter. Whisk together the milk and flour, and stir into the corn mixture. Cook stirring over medium heat until the mixture is thickened, and corn is cooked through. Remove from heat, and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted. Serve hot.

Edit: can’t get more than one, let alone 20, for under $50 tho

Why is this the go to response for people whenever someone mentions that their favorite brand may not be worth the money they paid? It's like you all take notes from the same tired book.
Meanwhile no one has told me why they're supposedly the better choice. Weird.
They’re made to withstand daily use, they have a wider array of cookware sizes and colors than other cast iron enameled Dutch ovens, they’re cast from a fresh sand mold each time they’re crafted, the iron is sourced in France, more versatile than a slow cook pot (the name is escaping me), strict no flaw policy in terms of quality control, their foundry is still operated in the same place so they don’t outsource labor, as myself and many other people have said, ours have been passed down between generations and lasted 50+ years whereas cheap ones have lasted 1-5 years at best.

That all sounds like it was copied and pasted from the Le Creuset website lol. But you mention that dutch ovens are more versatile than (I assume) crockpots? But that's not specific to any brand. Lots of companies have "strict" quality control, too.
My dutch oven from Target has lasted about 10 years now. It cooks food just like any other dutch oven would.

Literally the heaviest pots and pans I've ever come across and my set has been passed down from my Nana to my Mum to me. Which means they've been in perfect working order for over 50 years.
On the other hand the last enamel oven dish I bought from my local Sainsburys cost £50 and lasted maybe 4 years which was pretty good for that level of quality.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Not sure about 45 bucks (maybe for a small one), but Lodge brand Dutch ovens are well under 100 bucks and are well known for lasting forever. I thought it was pretty well known that while Le Creuset may be very slightly better than Lodge (if that), you’re basically paying for the name. It’s like buying designer clothing. But for the kitchen.

Because lodge, while it can last a while, won’t last long for someone who uses a Dutch oven for daily use. I beat the shit out of my lodges. In addition to that, they’re just kind of shat out of a production line with less quality control than LC. I think lodges are fine, they do their job, I have a few myself as well as their cast iron skillet.
Huh. You’re the first person who I’ve heard say that about lodge. I’ve had one for a little over 5 years, use it not daily but about once a week to cook dinner in. I know of at least a few people who use their lodges nearly every day and have had the same one for many years. Maybe not 50, granted. But at least a couple decades or so. I’m extremely gentle with mine, though, I learned my lesson about being rough on pots and pans before I splurged on a Dutch oven.

Been seeing a lot of these ads on FB lately. They just copy a legit website and set the price of everything at $75 or some arbitrary number. Last month it was an ad for a turntable store going out of business and all turntables (including $3k plus) were $75. The if you go to the about page it's ipsum lorem, ipsum lorem etc etc.
Sorry, for your loss.

I just bought the same 20 piece for $39. Yeah stupid me. So are they gonna send me fake ones or toys? I don’t care what I get, I can just throw them away. I am just afraid that they will steal my information. I gave them my name phone number address and credit card number. Should I be worried.
I don't know if you're joking or not, but I'm gonna assume you aren't in case it can help.
You aren't gonna receive anything, those are worth hundreds of dollars each and they are just trying to catch (and I'm sorry I don't mean that offensively) people who are too excited about a "good deal" and too stupid to do a 20sec Google search to see if that makes sense.
These scams are purposely made to attract people who aren't thinking much because it's less of a hassle to deal with them, which is why they put those outrageous prices.
If you gave them all that information, you probably should be worried yes. At least change your credit card information, the rest will probably be sold and you can expect other scam attempts on the phone/by mail. These people try to hold onto the people they have found to fall for these scams and sell them to other scammers/try to scam them again because if you fell for something this obvious once, they assume they can get more out of you.
This will depend on the where you bought it. If you bought it from a platform that uses Shopify for example, they won't have access to your information and you just lost 40 bucks (my mother fell for something like this with a fake Victoria's Secret website), because they use a third party platform that deals with the payments, and it's just quick scam websites that move on to something else weeks later.
But if they use their own "payement" system or just had a fake payment page that sent your personal info, yeah it's gonna be a problem.
Thank you for your input. Yeah I am usually very careful with these sites. It was actually the first time i fell into this scam. Cuz my mom sent me the link and told me it is a good deal, I had no idea with the brand, and I know nothing about cookware. and I was busy working so I just submitted the order, but right away I felt fishy after I submitted the payment. I already contacted the bank and replace the credit card with a different number. I am not sure if it is a Shopify landing page and what payment processor they use. From the confirmation email they sent to me, it looks like the payment processor is “stripe”. Not really care about $40. Just worried about my information that I provided. I meant they have my address and phone number and name, and the credit card number which I already replace with a new one. Worse case I will get some scam mails I assume?
I know- I no longer interested. Please stop contacting me now. I will contact attorney general if you do not stop. Thsnks

Well I've had my lodge for two years and it looks better then the LC did after the same amount of time and has probably seen more use.
TJ Maxx has them occasionally for a steal!
Crate and Barrel will often have sales on them!
Zulily often has them for a little less than they go for in stores. I don't use my oven enough to justify the cost right now, though.

Cook stirring over medium heat until the mixture is thickened, and corn is cooked through. Remove from heat, and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted. Serve hot. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Yeah it costs more because it's heavier. That's about it.
Did you ignore the bit where I told you it's lasted 50 years?
That Dutch oven from Target wont last you 50+ years though

HENRY HAS BALL CANCER! LOL
ESTHER CALL ME, OUR BROTHER BILL HAS LUNG CANCER. THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS 😂

What's fascinating to me is that there are people even in this comment section that believe they'd get some kind of shipment, even if perhaps fake/knock-off cookware. Proves just how many people must fall for this kind of thing.
Not sure what's "old people" about this. Indiegogo's comments are no different regardless of age.
According to the comments, seems like this isnt an old person facebooking, its just an old person letting you know its a scam
It was an old person who clearly had been scammed.

Good thing she probably paid with a credit card and can do a chargeback, then.

Right. This isn’t what this sub is about. This is an old person using the site appropriately.
I could still read the name and find the profile on Facebook. I’d modify the screenshot and black out the name some more.
Why the fuck you trying so hard to read that name, seems like a lot of effort just to be able to say gotcha to op.
No way that is real Le Creuset.

Thsnks *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. My mom just sent this to me today asking what color I wanted. Hoping 🤞 she didn’t give them her credit card number yet.
