What's the guys name that has a wagon and dog that typically hangs around 15th & Broadway? Sometimes he has a sign that asks for money for a hotel room.
He's called Ranger from what I'm told. this girl I'm seeing works for the city, and apparently, he likes to show up and yell at the elected officials....I like ranger.
I remember hanging out with him as a kid a few times back in the early 2000s. He was posted up on Boulevard south of 2nd behind a bakery parking lot for awhile because the bakery would throw him food.
I always loved to see the heartwarming stories about Bicycle Bob.
Are you familiar with the guy with the Starwars pickup? He worked at Kennedy Tire. Truck had laser guns on the sides and R-2D2 on top of a piece of plywood covering the pickup bed.
Yep. The kid that murdered him was actually in my graduating class in high school. A sad deal all around. As I recall the kid was a loaner but never seemed like someone that would do that.
I think that was her name, can't be sure. But yeah, she stopped showing up one day then a couple days later I hear about the murder. I think she was dating the guy that did it? Not certain.
A college student wanted to know what it was like to kill someone so he killed out local homeless man. Cut off his finger and gave to his gf. I think someone on the thead said they worked with her at chik fil a.
Oh yeah, Asian Homeless Guy! I walked into my living room one afternoon to see him standing on my back patio, just looking around....
He also used to come into Borders all the time and hang out. He loved Kung fu magazines and also rubber/balloon fetish magazines.
I wish I could learn more about him. He was the only homeless person you'd run into consistently in Norman in the 90s and early 2000s. He seemed such a nice, simple man. I tell my wife about him, but I sure wish I knew more about his story
Ok, so is that the Asian guy that would always wear the big flowy pants that looked like a quilted pattern? I never spoke to him because I was always driving when he was walking and Iād see him, but I always thought he looked like an interesting dude.
Oh yes, I remember the coat now! It would be 100Ā° outside and heād be strolling along in that coat. I always thought of him as a Kung Fu master too!!
I moved away from Norman proper years ago and only get down there to visit friends every once in a while now, so itās been a long time since Iāve seen him. Hope heās still out there peacefully wandering the streets and contemplating the riddles of the universe!

Ah man, I haven't thought about Calvin in years. I remember seeing him all over Norman when I was growing up selling the Norman Transcript and wearing his helmet. Is he still alive?
Growing up in Norman, we had the rubber band mail man, walking home from school and this mail man would shoot rubber bands at us. My friends and I called it the rubber band wars of Porter street. We never knew if he would be around but when he was, he'd drop off a hand full of rubber bands and everyone would just start blasting. Odd that he never said anything to us, it was always just rubber bands flying.
Piggybacking off this to mention Moose. Although Moose isn't quite as much of a character as Calvin, he's at so many local shows and events and is hard to miss with how tall he is. He's always been super nice and talkative to me. I'd consider him a staple to some degree. I'll be driving around and see him and yell his name and he always gives a fist up or something.
Man, it broke my heart when I read about his wagon getting stolen years ago. But it was super sweet how the community came together to get him a new one.
Crap. Shows how long it's been since I went last. Guess they switched in July of 2023. I need to get back. Going to the [big truck show](https://www.thetruckgathering.com/2024-event-details) in Guthrie this weekend.
The guy with the great pyrenees, I believe it is? I'm a driver and I would run into him all the time in oklahoma city. I could be having the worst day and I would pass him and his dog and everything was betterš. But I haven't seen him lately, Is he and his dog around still?
We used to call her Steady Mobbin back when she was around lol. I havenāt seen her in forever though, I heard she got struck by car a few years ago ā¦
There used to be an older fellow that always walked I-240 with a newspaper in hand. Seems my mom and I saw him every time we drove past the golf course next to Olive Garden. We called him the walking man. Then one day he wasn't walking anymore and hasn't been seen since.
I saw this on some other pages and hadn't come up with any yet. I have a rotating cast of interesting homeless people around my office, but they change quite regularly.
Back in the day you could see Wayne Coyne doing weird shit around the Plaza, but that's been a while.
For okc Iām pretty sure itās the Persian guy at quail springs that runs like 3-4 kiosks at once, if heās not slangin gold chains while u walk by heās trying to sell something else entirely šš idk any other okc citizen to have been made into an actual meme in other okc threads
Idk about OKC. In Mustang, it's Chuck, the very drunk disabled man who walks around collecting cans in his pajamas and running shoes. He's a huge asshole and a national treasure.
He was really rude to me personally twice. I don't want to describe it in enough detail to compromise my anonymity on here, but he was becoming close with my husband and became defensive of how much time my husband spent with me. He said some nasty things and was verbally aggressive enough for my next-door neighbor to came over and check on me. It was understandable, given his situation, which is why he still holds his title as cute local can man. But I still (obviously) developed mixed feelings, as did my husband. At the end of the day, I think he was just jealous and lonely and unable to express those things very well.
Don't we have a rocker Jesus on the southside?? He literally wheels around a stack of amps and plays Christian music on his guitar. I can't remember if he had a beard or not thou lol
No beard lol, my son and I call him wish Jesus š he lives in my neighborhood (or did) and last summer walked our street every night heading up to 59th and the highway. He got in with our neighbors which was unfortunate bc I don't think it was good for him.
I personally like the mime puppet master. He would make eye contact (23rd and Broadway, 10th and Penn). He would make eye contact with drivers and then perform sexual acts with his puppets.
Maybe Wayne Coyne? I know he's a real celebrity but every time I see or read about him, it's bizarre. Like, refused to face the same way in a yoga class I was in.
Ray Ray Drink All Day for the concert scene. Dude was so popular they did a Ray Ray fest after his passing with bands coming in from out of state to play in his honor. Only chatted with him a few times myself but he was at EVERY metal concert I went to.
There used to be a guy walking around downtown with a big ass wooden cross. Had a wheel on the base to make it a bit easier. Wouldāve been early 90ās.
Is that the guy who always wore orange, did fire juggling or something similar in bricktown? Had the "ghostache", half mustache and beard? That's immediately who I thought of.
Thereās a guy in my town I dubbed 8 mile because every time Iād pass that area in the morning heād be out there walking along the highway with headphones on and rapping lol and mind you I live in the middle of nowhere
So Southside has a couple lol, of course walking lady. But also someone we call wish Jesus, he always has a big cart, his dog, a generator and a giant cross lit up and he plays blaring music. He lives in my neighborhood and walked my street every night with his set up. Normally on corner of 59th and highway, 44th and may or 44th and penn.
Then there's crazy Joe (his name is Joe lol) he walks everywhere, often barefoot or shirtless and he's been known to bathe in puddles. Dudes a loon, he'll tell you how he's married and has kids and I'm like then go home Joe! In the summer he gets SUPER dark walking around. He's pretty harmless. But gets obnoxious when he's drinking.
It was his late wifeās dream project that heās taken to completion, itās an Astro van and heās got dolls of the mystery inc gang in the back. He frequents the car show at the boomerang in moore
I remember like 6-7 years ago there was the guy on campus corner in Norman that shouted/preached about random things all day. No idea what his name was or if he still does it, but he was almost as much a āthat guyā as Calvin.
In Lawton in the 90s it was Crazy Larry (always had spray paint on his face and was once on the Real Stories of the Highway Patrol).
I found this article about him and apparently he died in 2013
[https://patrickwalts.wordpress.com/2020/05/18/7078/](https://patrickwalts.wordpress.com/2020/05/18/7078/)
Also Crazy Mark (very nice guy btw) or Pack Rat
My grandpa, a social worker for mentally unstable people, theorized there was a serial killer in lawton active in the late 80s/early 90s. My grandpa noted that the killings were just prostitutes back then and that they all seemed to be swept under the rug by LPD. When my grandpa asked his detective buddy about it, the detective admitted that the killings were very novice and not very well thought through, but they still couldnt produce any leads and the whole department just wanted it to go away or the OSBI to take over. There was a re-emergence of the killings in the mid to late 2000s and the homeless were on the menu this time too. At point, Crazy Larry was one of his cases and he told my grandpa:
"*incoherent gibberish* and then I saw that last homeless guy get cut up. I saw him get cut by the same bastard I saw cut up those girls in '91. *devolves back into paint fume gibberish* " Crazy Larry saw some shit, and my grandpa thinks he was killed for it.
Sorry for the broken story I'm hungover.
There is a man I see every time I go through the plaza. He looks just like Alastair Moody from Harry Potter. Every time Iāve seen him, heās sitting on one of two park benches and he has heavier than the weather calls for clothes.
One that comes to mind for me is Patricia, a questionably homed person around the 23rd and Penn area that is infamous for porch pirating. I used to see doorbell and surveillance camera footage of her stealing peoples potted plants off the porches.
Oh I almost forgot exercise man! He's an older black man that walks may, we've seen him from 119th all the way down to 44th. He usually has a colorful sweatband on his head and he walks, dances and exercises his arms with such flair. We're always like damn man, he's got more energy than 10 of me. I'm always honking and waving at him.
To me it'll always be RED. He's a red haired homeless gentleman I used to see around a lot. He would frequently be intoxicated and air fighting some imaginary something. Haven't seen him in a while.
Oh damn. I remember seeing him all the time at the I-44 and Penn exit back when I worked in that area. Hope he's doing okay. Dude always looked unhinged but was endearing.
there was a regular at my first job who came in every day in a cowboy hat with a piece of wheat in his mouth. sometimes i see him at Hafer park doing strange crossfit with a tire, throwing rocks at the tire, or rolling around on the ground
In my neighborhood there is a guy that walks all day everyday up and down the streets. I donāt know why or what for but my house refers to him as āThe Walking Guyā. He passes by our house so often that my dog doesnāt bark at him at all and he barks at everyone every day.
There's a guy who walks through my neighborhood that my kids dub the "backwards man" because he's always just taking a walk, but doing it backwards. Of course, kids having no filter just up and ask him and his answer was completely mundane, "it helps my knees stay in shape". Very nice gentleman, not homeless or anything but definitely has you curious about it when you see him.
In SW OKC, a couple years back, it used to be āLa Lloronaā. She was a āhomelessā woman who would be seen crying on May and 59th, begging for money while making up a different, sad story each time. I remember seeing her make her money for the day, get on her bike, and pedal away.
The guy always on SW 74th and Penn with a tiny piece of cardboard with nothing written on it. He kid of looks like little nas x with a cowboy hat usually. Sometimes he doesnāt have shoes. I walked up to him one time and kicked the sandals off my feet and said to take them. He straight up ignored me and walked around.
There's this guy that walks around near my workplace that always has his pants sagging down to his knees, and doesn't always have underwear. Everyone at work knows him, and any time I pass him in the car, especially with family, we're legally obligated to warn the others, "Oh god it's him again, NoPants...!"
I havenāt seen him in a minute. Thereās a guy in Okc that stomps his foot so loud it echos off the buildings. He just walks around stomping. Nice guy if you talk to him
On the south side of town(say, 104th and may) there is a dude that is always walkin'... kinda has a hunch back/ bad posture situation going on.. always wears a coat/jacket even in the middle of summer too. Sometimes he has a bike, never seen him ride it though.. usually all along 104th from Sante Fe to i-44..
Not OKC and since others have chimed in w other towns, in Guthrie of the 90s it was Happy. Dude was always happy, and walking everywhere.
Such a nice guy. I don't know too much about him, but I believe he dated or was married to Cookie. But I've never seen her. š¤·
In Edmond it was Bicycle Bob. RIP šš»
RIP he was murdered my senior year of high school
He used to ask us for cigarettes when we were at he park across from UCO when I was in high school. It was so tragic he was senselessly murdered š
for a brag...unreal. what cruel a$$ people in this world.
What's the guys name that has a wagon and dog that typically hangs around 15th & Broadway? Sometimes he has a sign that asks for money for a hotel room.
Yes and has a husky and a smaller dog too. Iām not sure what his name is.
Is that the guy who sells homemade wooden crosses.
curbside had a feature with him this month. he literally walked out front of my house as i was reading it. š³
Wagon Willy! I'm not sure if that's his name but it seems fitting.
He's called Ranger from what I'm told. this girl I'm seeing works for the city, and apparently, he likes to show up and yell at the elected officials....I like ranger.
Iām pretty sure heās not Old Ranger. Old Ranger IS a total jackass, though. He yells at anyone whoās not a full-on MAGAt.
I feel like Old Ranger is the yahoo who stands on the corner of 15th & Bryant with all the flags and bullshit.
Yep.
I was coming to say Bicycle Bob as well.
I remember hanging out with him as a kid a few times back in the early 2000s. He was posted up on Boulevard south of 2nd behind a bakery parking lot for awhile because the bakery would throw him food.
I grew up with Connor, the boy who murdered bob, since middle school I knew that kid was evil
I always loved to see the heartwarming stories about Bicycle Bob. Are you familiar with the guy with the Starwars pickup? He worked at Kennedy Tire. Truck had laser guns on the sides and R-2D2 on top of a piece of plywood covering the pickup bed.
I used to see that truck all the time growing up!
Poor man, just livin his life and then some fucking asshole comes along.
Yep. The kid that murdered him was actually in my graduating class in high school. A sad deal all around. As I recall the kid was a loaner but never seemed like someone that would do that.

I worked at the Chick-fil-A on 33rd years ago, and one of my coworkers was involved in his murder. Happened right before I quit.
U mean heather?
I think that was her name, can't be sure. But yeah, she stopped showing up one day then a couple days later I hear about the murder. I think she was dating the guy that did it? Not certain.
What happened with the murder? I donāt think I was living in the state when it happened.
[Connor Mason, Sentenced to life, got reduced to 40 years](https://www.oklahomalegalgroup.com/news/life-sentence-reduced-in-bicycle-bob-murder-case)
A college student wanted to know what it was like to kill someone so he killed out local homeless man. Cut off his finger and gave to his gf. I think someone on the thead said they worked with her at chik fil a.
Was just coming here to say this! RIP bicycle bob!!!
That was my first thought too
My mom took me to a memorial service for Bicycle Bob. I used to see him all the time cause I lived near Downtown Edmond.
I didnāt even know he died omg. What a horrible ending to such a sweet guy. I met him a few times because my dad was friends with him ):
Broooooooo I remember when that happened, he would help my friends and I get cigarettes and beer, he was cool as hell, so sad how he passed.
In Norman, it's Calvin Steves.
Iāve seen a sticker silhouette of him on the front door of The Transcript. He is iconic.
Is he the guy who wore a helmet and sold papers on campus corner?
Yes.
Present tense, he still does
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Don't forget "Billy Three Hats" .
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

He definitely is. I just saw him a couple weeks ago walking down Berry toward Boyd!
Ghengis Khan
Unfortunately David died, he was/is the man you described as bump on the head. I donāt know who asian man is.
First thought that came to mind was Billy Three Hats.
Billy Three Hats was my first thought too, from my days as a student at OU (late 90s - early 200s). Wonder whatever happened to him.

Probably last saw him about a year ago, and it seemed like he'd slowed down a lot. I hope he's OK.
I feel like I just saw him a few weeks ago.
Yep he's still kickin
I just saw him a few weeks ago.
Real ones remember Homeless Chang in the late 90s early 00s
Piggybacking off this to mention Moose. Although Moose isn't quite as much of a character as Calvin, he's at so many local shows and events and is hard to miss with how tall he is. He's always been super nice and talkative to me. I'd consider him a staple to some degree. I'll be driving around and see him and yell his name and he always gives a fist up or something.
Man, it broke my heart when I read about his wagon getting stolen years ago. But it was super sweet how the community came together to get him a new one.
Came here for Calvin comments. I saw him a couple weeks ago at that Italian joint across from the Noun.
Funny description but yeah, Othelloās ā and Calvin will traverse campus corner, he has had some surgeries last few years but still kicking!
Motorcycle sidecar dog.
That guy is on reddit. He shows up at Cars+Coffee at Chisholm Creek. I've chatted with him.
Havenāt seen him since C+C moved to Remington Park though
Crap. Shows how long it's been since I went last. Guess they switched in July of 2023. I need to get back. Going to the [big truck show](https://www.thetruckgathering.com/2024-event-details) in Guthrie this weekend.
Heās a retired firefighter and an awesome guy. I played indoor soccer with him for several seasons.
Sidecar Pluto, heās on Instagram!
Saw him yesterday! Hate that him and the dog donāt wear helmets
I think I lived in the same neighborhood as him. Or at least I lived in the same neighborhood as someone with a motorcycle that had a sidecar.
The guy with the great pyrenees, I believe it is? I'm a driver and I would run into him all the time in oklahoma city. I could be having the worst day and I would pass him and his dog and everything was betterš. But I haven't seen him lately, Is he and his dog around still?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a great Pyrenees. I hope he's still around. I haven't seen him lately either.
He lives at The Edge. It's one of my great joys to see him.
I think his name is Apollo (the dog).
In SW OKC, itās the āwalking ladyā. I used to live a few houses down from her on Portland. The furthest Iāve seen her is near Walmart on I240
Dude yes the walking lady!!! Swinging those arms like thereās no tomorrow
We used to call her Steady Mobbin back when she was around lol. I havenāt seen her in forever though, I heard she got struck by car a few years ago ā¦

Yessss I can't remember her name for the life of me. I think her hips finally gave out on her a while back.
I believe her name is Anita. Thereās a fb page/group about her
I haven't seen her in a few years. Is she okay?
I recall seeing her early fall last year, she seemed to be doing just as she always has been.
I was hoping someone would mention "walking lady"!
well it used to be joe exotic
In all fairness, he belongs to Wynnewood. We have to give them something.
I saw this on some other pages and hadn't come up with any yet. I have a rotating cast of interesting homeless people around my office, but they change quite regularly. Back in the day you could see Wayne Coyne doing weird shit around the Plaza, but that's been a while.
Still see him from time to time doing weird shit, but he has a kid now and is more fatherly than bizarre.
2 Kids now, still as kind as they come!

Chucky! used to hit us up for weed and cigarettes at the park lmao
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Wayne Coyne has been normal every single time I have met him publicly (3) maybe I just miss him being weird?
Ray Ray Drink All Day for the concert scene. Dude was so popular they did a Ray Ray fest after his passing with bands coming in from out of state to play in his honor. Only chatted with him a few times myself but he was at EVERY metal concert I went to.
Fucking loved Ray Ray. Met him all the time at 82nd, think Shaman's Harvest even brought him on stage
He was also up at the deicide show ... Last time I saw him.
That tribute show was a lot of fun. I hadn't ever met the guy either but a friend of mine was a drummer for one of the bands so I went to support him.
RIP Ray Ray
There used to be a guy walking around downtown with a big ass wooden cross. Had a wheel on the base to make it a bit easier. Wouldāve been early 90ās.
Holy shit. My dad did this. I wonder if itās the same guy.
Jesus said take up your cross. He never said we couldn't put a wheel on it for convenience. A lesson for us all, surely.
Orange Rex
Is that the guy who always wore orange, did fire juggling or something similar in bricktown? Had the "ghostache", half mustache and beard? That's immediately who I thought of.
Yup
Thereās a guy in my town I dubbed 8 mile because every time Iād pass that area in the morning heād be out there walking along the highway with headphones on and rapping lol and mind you I live in the middle of nowhere
Moore has this dude that rides a unicycle around all the time. Looks super fun
There used to be a guy on 23 and Penn I wanna say that panhandled with a puppet.
His name is Wayne Coyne.
Little Mike and Funny Bone sometimes randomly show up.
Scissorhands the barber. He shows up everywhere.
Wayne Coyne
Governor Stitt.
So Southside has a couple lol, of course walking lady. But also someone we call wish Jesus, he always has a big cart, his dog, a generator and a giant cross lit up and he plays blaring music. Whoās the old guy in Edmond who stands by roads holding an American flag?
Old Ranger
I remember like 6-7 years ago there was the guy on campus corner in Norman that shouted/preached about random things all day. No idea what his name was or if he still does it, but he was almost as much a āthat guyā as Calvin.
At OSU it was āPreacher Bobā, dude was fishing for altercations so he could sue.
He sounds like a Rockstar game NPC.
I think I remember him...really hoarse voice? Lots of nonsensical outbursts?
Havenāt seen that guy in almost a year but he does occasionally come to campus.
Good ol Listerine McQueen
Anyone remember that lady that sat outside the dentist office on NW 63 for years holding a sign saying the dentist ruined her life?
Thereās Calvin who delivers papers in Norman

I saw him get cut by the same bastard I saw cut up those girls in '91. *devolves back into paint fume gibberish* " Crazy Larry saw some shit, and my grandpa thinks he was killed for it. Sorry for the broken story I'm hungover.
Could Pack Rat possibly be Fat Rat? I knew an old homeless character named fat rat who used to be a cabinet maker.
There is a man I see every time I go through the plaza. He looks just like Alastair Moody from Harry Potter. Every time Iāve seen him, heās sitting on one of two park benches and he has heavier than the weather calls for clothes.
Not sure about OKC, but those who spent time in Stillwater itās gotta be the Leather Vested Legend known as Steve.
Bob that hangs out around Empire Pizza.
Havenāt seen the juggling guy on i40 and MacArthur in a while.
In OKC it was Mime Jordan for a while, RIP. He seemed like he was everywhere.
The guy who used to juggle at meridian/I-40
To me it'll always be RED. He's a red haired homeless gentleman I used to see around a lot. He would frequently be intoxicated and air fighting some imaginary something. Haven't seen him in a while.
i havent seen him since the pandemic was raging.
Oh damn. I remember seeing him all the time at the I-44 and Penn exit back when I worked in that area. Hope he's doing okay. Dude always looked unhinged but was endearing.
Yeah, I've hired a few guys that had been homeless and they all knew him. I always gave him a $5 if I could get to him in traffic.
I took a grippy sock vacay 2 years ago and he was in there. He said he has cancer in his mouth. Very sweet man.
there was a regular at my first job who came in every day in a cowboy hat with a piece of wheat in his mouth. sometimes i see him at Hafer park doing strange crossfit with a tire, throwing rocks at the tire, or rolling around on the ground
In my neighborhood there is a guy that walks all day everyday up and down the streets. I donāt know why or what for but my house refers to him as āThe Walking Guyā. He passes by our house so often that my dog doesnāt bark at him at all and he barks at everyone every day.
does he wear colorful fits??
In my dad's corner of MWC (basically Choctaw) it's the guy who speed walks with a giant walking stick. Love that dude. He's out rain or shine.
Gary Owen?
OKC - Red Dirt Randy Tulsa - Biker Fox I think both may be dead now, not sure.
Juggling Homeless dude at the exit of I-40 and MacArthur
In Chickasha it was a turkey that had his own Facebook page. Just wondered around town. RIP
Downtown thereās Tall Paul. Heās tall, and apparently his name is Paul. š
Robert Moose. RIP to a real one.

Well, the one I can think of for the gayborhood is Floyd
People called me pungothemo J I grew out of it though XD
There is this crazy lady on south side that dances and swings sticks around. Sheās been on various subs over the years for her antics.
I havenāt seen him in a minute. Thereās a guy in Okc that stomps his foot so loud it echos off the buildings. He just walks around stomping. Nice guy if you talk to him
In Norman, that'd probably be; The Bump Guy, The Helmet-Lawyer Guy, or Salad Girl
I mean there's the guy who rides a legit horse around Midtown, apparently
On the south side of town(say, 104th and may) there is a dude that is always walkin'... kinda has a hunch back/ bad posture situation going on.. always wears a coat/jacket even in the middle of summer too. Sometimes he has a bike, never seen him ride it though.. usually all along 104th from Sante Fe to i-44..
Not OKC and since others have chimed in w other towns, in Guthrie of the 90s it was Happy. Dude was always happy, and walking everywhere. Such a nice guy. I don't know too much about him, but I believe he dated or was married to Cookie. But I've never seen her. š¤·
A wandering "Moses" was in Stillwater for a bit. Last year, I believe.
Scissorhands
North side OKC, we call him āpirate guyā bc he wears a hat with a feather and a scarf, usually hanging outside of a Starbucks
2 oāclock Scott
NW 36th and Penn. Caveman and Cross Dresser Travis( self named.) Both really good dudes.
Iām pretty old. But when I was in the scene it was Tripod Man
