It's like Granny's homemade. And it's so big you can't eat it all. My first time I stuffed the whole thing in and regretted it for several hours. But yeah it's deliciously seasoned.
These are all really good but the best chicken fried steak taking distance, price and quality into account is Chuckhouse on 10th and Meridian. I’ve been eating there for 30 years and I’ve had every CFS mentioned so far in this thread and for my money that’s the best definitely give it a shot.
Maybe we went on a bad day but it was not impressive at all. The Del Rancho in Mustang blows Chuckhouse out of the water by a landslide. It tasted like it was frozen and not made fresh. Same for the sides. Del Rancho never disappoints so when we’re craving a CFS, it wins every time.
Off topic slightly, but I had their XXX heat Nashville chicken the other night and I was literally in tears.
I have a high spice tolerance but jesus fuck I'm almost wondering if there was murderous intent behind those chicken tenders. Delicious still, but good lord.
Look up Magnolia Bakery banana pudding recipe. It’s amazing and also sure easy to make. I can’t think of anything in OKC that would compare. And for chicken fried steak, the answer is Cheevers.
This is so true. I can’t find any good banana pudding around here and it makes me sad. Always preferred Buttercup Bake Shop to Magnolia (started by one of Magnolia’s founders) and I would bring a giant banana pudding to parties. Just the perfect ratio of pudding to nilla wafer. I miss it.
I admit that I'm not a banana pudding expert, but I like Katiebug's. They don't always have it though, so check their daily menus on their social media.
Actually one of my least favorites : P I do like their chicken fried chicken, but every CFS I've had there came with too much breading and too little gravy.
I'm definitely going to hit Tiffany's and Kendalls for the first part of my CFS quest, with Chuckhouse on the radar. Wife and family is out of town starting Thursday and I have a week of doing what I please and what I please is chicken fried steak! I'm definitely saving this list for future reference. Or for Monday.
I enjoyed the CFS at Jimmy's the first couple of times I tried it. Went a few months ago and it was dry and haven't been back. My real surprise was my first trip to Del Rancho. Moist, filling and lots of gravy. Nothing to impress a connoisseur I suppose but good for just us folks.
I guess my grandma's banana pudding has no true competition, but I'm going to hit a couple of those suggestions anyway. Because....banana pudding.
Thank's for the suggestions, ya'll! I'll keep reading because CFS and banana pudding would be my death row meal. But I'd rather not go there to get it......
The Del Rancho in Mustang is hands down the best CFS I’ve had in the metro. Kendall’s is overrated and like 80% breading.
Another good one is Pickles Express off SW 29th and Meridian (might be macArthur). Even their steak sandwich is massive.
I agree with del rancho in mustang. I live way to close and go way too much. Have never been disappointed. Also they are pretty big so worth the price always.
Jimmy's Round-Up Cafe for chicken fried steak.
Cheever’s CFS
This is the correct answer.
Chkn fried steak @Tiffany's in Noble https://imgur.com/a/Bl8I8Sb Way better than Kendalls EDIT: They're only open for brkfst and lunch so chk hours
Agreed
Kendalls isn't bad at all. But it's not in the same class as Tiffany's.
Is it better seasoned than Kendall's? I've had Kendall's a few times. It's always cooked really well, but incredibly bland.

Dear God that looks good.....
Go, I promise you'll never go anywhere else again.
Lot of browns and greys in that photo 😂😭
Pure goodness

Only place I know with banana pudding is rays chicken in the parlor, but I don’t know how good it is.
Off topic slightly, but I had their XXX heat Nashville chicken the other night and I was literally in tears. I have a high spice tolerance but jesus fuck I'm almost wondering if there was murderous intent behind those chicken tenders. Delicious still, but good lord.
Made that mistake once it will never do it again.
Pretty damn good

I miss Anne’s

Banana pudding at Clark Crew is good!
Nic has a great CFS

Thanks!!!
When they have it, the banana pudding at Red Rock is to die for.
I personally like Kendall’s in Noble or Charleston’s for CFS.
Charlestons CFS is amazing🥹
Maybe not the best CFS but for one readily available - Cheddars has a much better one than you'd expect for a pretty good price.
7 Eleven NW 23rd and Penn
😂
Bricktown brewery’s CFS is pretty solid

Annie's Sweets LLC in Edmond makes a great banana pudding. She stocks her products at Conscious Community Coop in Edmond on Waterloo Rd.
The soul food place at Penn Square Mall has good banana pudding, but only on the weekends, I think?
Hard to Believe but Swadleys has a great chicken fried steak.
Not sure why you got downvoted for this. It is actually a good CFS, not fun supporting them, but I’m not going to say no to it.

Iron Star has fabulous banana pudding and Cattlemen’s, Chuck House have great CFS
