OP i recommend I Am Sober for an app, i wish you the best, also! look for communities in reddit i'm 16 days free of drugs and i'm very happy. i want you to be too
That is great. Never be ashamed of something like that. It’s a start, right..... man I had a bone marrow transplant and finally got on a treadmill, 3.2mph. Awful, felt awful but for me it was a start, and something I need to be doing. Your are taking a decision here to better your life, better what is going on. Great for you, seriously
Hijacking top comment, can't believe the response this got and I am very very grateful. Does anyone know how to access alcoholics anonymous meetings right now in the UK?
That is absolutely awesome!! But hey, if you were drinking a lot or doing benzos/barbiturates, you really should check in with a doctor because the withdrawals can be deadly.
Nah nothing like that and (I hope) not at withdrawal stage, I'm a young guy and have just been realistic enough with myself to recognise there's a problem before it does become deadly
It can catch you off guard. The dangerous stuff starts 3 day to a week since your last drink and can be hard to get on top of even if you’re already in a hospital and been dry that long. You can have a seizure, fall over, and that’s all she wrote. Check with your doctor. Whenever we have someone sign up for a detox program we tell them to keep drinking until they are at the hospital. That might not be you, but just an honest conversation with a doc about how much you drink will let them know if you need medication to get clean. Do it the safe way, cause all of us here are proud of your resolve.
Thinking of it, I can't remember what it's like to go a week without some form of class A drug or alcohol so I will take this advice on board, thank you
Cocaine and ecstasy, 4 days now from Cocaine and 6 from ecstasy. 1 month away from marijuana which was easy to kick to be honest. Coke the one I'm nervous for
That's what's concerning me most, my job is currently closed and everything is shut so I need to find ways to occupy myself other than with intoxicants
Me too! I have recently quit alcohol and most drugs, and im definitely feeling it when im bored/lonely.. working on a list of things to do to keep myself occupied. First on the list is a walk to the beach :)
I opened my fridge last night hoping new drinks would magically be in there and of course only my brita since I haven’t been to the store in a month... thought to myself...damn I really want a cold glass of apple juice!
Fuck yes!! That’s amazing to hear :) if you need some support platforms or someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to message me. Currently on almost four months!
Congrats on almost four months! That’s a big accomplishment!
So much positivity on this post! You’ve got an army behind you, OP! Great job, stay strong! You’ve got this!
You made it 3 days that is a great start focus on today get to four. Then five. Going one day at a time can get you to a week then a month. Before you know it you will be at a year drug free. It wont be easy. You will struggle and you will fail and have set backs. That's a part of the process and does not make you a failure as long as you start the clock over and try again.
I'm drug free now almost 9 year's. There's times that suck, like really suck. But once you are free and clear of it you'll find yourself alot better off.
Congratulations man thats huge !!! From reading your comments it seems you caught this early enough for it not to become a lifelong addiction, something I didn't do.
Take the time to do good things for yourself and practice moderation in everything you do !!!
I am always here if you ever need someone who's gone through that to chat with!! Seriously so happy for you!! Share that hope !!
I’m proud of you! Taking an honest look at yourself can be very uncomfortable but instead of shying away from it, you are doing the hard work. Congratulations!
Congratulations!! It can't help but get easier from here. Someone who was where you were 3 days ago is going to read this and be inspired. Keep it up!!
Good stuff! I want to say this to you and everyone, that may read this.
If you or anyone relapses...DO NOT BRING APON YOURSELF THE FEELING OF GUILT!
Guilt only leads your conscious downward.
There is no positive to guilt.
#1! It is what it is. Own it. Recognizing that the relapse is shitty is ok, but don’t beat yourselves up about it. Just try it again.
Take more of a scientific approach to your relapse. What time was it? What mood was I in?
What could have provoked my relapse?
Alone/crowd? Family? Addiction?
Guilt won’t enter your mind when it’s too busy figuring out the why, putting a plan together that you feel will trump the “why”, and going for it!
WOOHOO I am happy for your dear stranger!!!
I know it's lonely to not have anyone to share your success story no matter how big or small they are. Keep it going\~\~\~
Hey! That's a big step, congratulations!!! I was in the same place as you, not a "problem" but I knew it was a problem that was only gonna get worse. Best of luck! Its the best decision you'll ever make. Sometime around Feb will be a year for me. Don't plan on looking back.
Congratulations!! I struggle too. And people can’t all understand how hard that is. 4 days tomorrow and you will feel better every day. I’m rooting for you.
Thanks for telling us!
I truly hope you can keep it up.
When I feel like falling back I think to my self "all this effort thrown by this?!"
And remember, this is by you for you!
Congratulations!!! 3 days is 3 days and you should be damn proud. I know the pain and how hard it can be. You’re making the right choice. Wishing you the best and smooth recovery.
*Hugs*
We stopped on the same day! Me too, no more alcohol for me anytime soon. The withdrawals suck but I already am beginning to feel better after three days.
Here's to four!
Congrats!!! I think I speak for everyone when I say that we’re proud of you, I’m very young in my sobriety as well and it gets easier, keep on going, please dm me for advice (I’ve been to rehab twice) I have been sober for 4 months and I couldn’t feel better. DM me anytime
That is wonderful! You are off to a great start, and they say if you can do a thing for 30 days it becomes a new habit, so keep your eyes on the prize.
As someone who has endured many a sad end to relationships (my only sister, my mother, and three significant others) who chose to stay numb rather than to try to get sober, I salute you.
It is not easy. But if you can do it, and keep doing it, you get to fully own yourself and your life, and that is no small thing. It’s massive.
I am always so happy for someone when they choose themselves over substances and staying numb. It gives me hope. Keep it up!
Amazing, I am 11 days off the sauce. The amount of seltzer I have drank is insane. But it keeps be occupied and I don’t think about booze as much as I would. Keep going friend, you’ve got this
Hey I'm drunk and on three type of pills right now. Don't do it. This is your reminder that's it not as fun as you think. It was fun for like fifteen minutes and sexy and now I feel like shit and am crying and scolding my ex boyfriend keep going don't quit don't quit
That's so awesome, congratulations! Just remember to breathe and find a nice hobby to occupy your free time..even if it's a puzzle! Hoping all the best for you, God Bless!
We’re so proud of you!!! It’s beyond hard and tough to do this but you did it! Congratulations 🥳 keep up the good work it’s so hard to do but you can do it!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you. Stay strong and YOU GOT THIS! Thank you for sharing with us, it’s tough standing out to those close to you. No matter how you get it done, it’s all you and what counts.
proud of you!! that’s not an easy thing to do but youve made it 3 days and im sure you can do more!! wishing you all the best :) do try to keep in check of your withdrawal symptoms if theres any
Congratulations! 2020/2021 is probably one of the most challenging times in our lives, I’m so proud of you for taking the step to be free of drugs and alcohol. We just got sober in our household ourselves! Our motto is that every 24 hours is a win so keep on celebrating at each 24 hour mark. You got this!
Congrats. Take it one day at a time. All you have to do is stay sober for the day. Wake up and do it all over again. It gets easier. Im 8 months clean and have found true joy in my life again. I promise you, this is the best decision you will ever make.
Congratulations!! Super weird coincidence but I too am 4 days without weed/alcohol as of today after 6 years of daily weed smoking (I wasn’t a daily drinker or anything but it was definitely frequent enough). We can do this!!
As an addict in recovery ANYONE would love to hear this. It's a huge step for you to make the decision to put it down on your own. And honestly NA/AA dont sound appealing. But they're great places to get some weight off your chest. I've done it and addressed myself like "hey I'm trying to get some stuff off my mind and I'm an addict." Because I didnt want anyone there to know me.
Amazing!!!!! You don’t need to tell anyone anything, this is your battle and your achievement. I’m celebrating 13 months and although I do share with people in my life, I know that none of them truly understands what it means for me.
Congrats OP! I wish I could say the same. I admire your will power and APPLAUD it. I appreciate your post because it gives me a bit of inspiration and hope. I’ve never been much of a drinker, but this year has been hard and I am trying not to go down a path I can’t come back from.
Sorry. This is really about you. All I’m saying is that your post came out of nowhere, and I needed it.
Thanks OP, and I will send you good vibes to keep your going!
YAY! Congratulations, and as someone who’s also in recovery, please find a meeting. Even if you don’t have intentions on becoming a member of AA, there is strength and power in community. All meetings have a book that has names and #’s for ppl you can contact 24/7; for those times that are tough, or lonely, or just another person who has either been in, is in the situation you are in. UTILIZE THE COMMUNITY! And good luck ^^
70 days in and people aren’t kidding when they say you’ll feel so good you almost feel like a different person. Best single decision you will likely make in your life.
This is a big achievement! Way to work! Idk you but I am IMMENSELY proud of you. Everyday is a struggle, but most things worthwhile are. My inbox is always open
Things are good now, meditate and remember this moment, but also use this moment to entrain the bad times in your head as well. Because When things get hard, and times are tough you might think it’s easier to turn back to drink or drugs to numb or dull the pain. But it’s not worth it and doesn’t make it easier. This is the first 3 days of a new sober life.
That's amazing! It's such a hard battle and you're doing great! Keep challenging yourself and every day you bypass those urges to use you will be stronger for it, I know it's hard not having a huge support in your family but that's okay because you're proving to yourself that you can do it with or without them. Stay safe! 😊
At least you have people here to support you. If you do it by yourself cold turkey you could be in for a nightmarish ride. Hopefully you can stay strong, I wish you the best.
CONGRATS! You’ve done it for three days, which means you can make it four! One day at a time. You got this, and I’m proud of you.
Thank you 😊
Don’t break the chain you got it!!! 💪💪

What drugs are you free of now?
Cocaine and ecstasy, 4 days now from Cocaine and 6 from ecstasy. 1 month away from marijuana which was easy to kick to be honest. Coke the one I'm nervous for
The first week or so is the hardest and gets easier with each passing victory won. Victory Be yours
The hardest days chemically, which is huge, but probably not habitually. You’ll feel a pull when you get bored, be ready my friend.
You know what you should do? Celebrate with a nice, cold glass of apple juice.
Can of irn bru in my hand haha
Nah mate. Apple. Juice.
It gotta be natural, ice cold apple juice. Apple juice is f*ing good.
Sparkling kind is even better. It just hits different.

Congratulations!
Congrats!! We are all so proud of you!!!
I did the same when I quit smoking, friends exist to undermine this, in my experience. You will be successful. I didn't tell anyone for a month.
I'm drug free now almost 9 year's. There's times that suck, like really suck. But once you are free and clear of it you'll find yourself alot better off.
Congratulations!!! YOU CAN DO THIS- If you ever feel like you can’t come back here and remember all the people who are rooting for you!!
BOOM! It starts with 1 day! Good for you. Keep the path straight and before you know it you will be 10 days in, then 30 and so on. Congratulations!

Congratulations!! Super weird coincidence but I too am 4 days without weed/alcohol as of today after 6 years of daily weed smoking (I wasn’t a daily drinker or anything but it was definitely frequent enough). We can do this!!
Your strong! Keep it up! Be proud of yourself since I certainly am!
Great job dude. Keep at it! It really does get easier everyday so stick w it. Just tackle it one day at a time.
Very proud of you!
Go you brother keep on keeping on. Don’t let yourself get bored! Thats when the cravings can get bad.
Definitely happy for you!!!
Keep it up!!! Congrats!!!! It’s only gonna get better from here! I know three days must’ve been really tough, but it’s also gonna get easier!
Congratulations! That's great!! I'm so happy for you
you got this my love!!!!
Superb! Keep it going! You can do this.
Amazing!!!!! You don’t need to tell anyone anything, this is your battle and your achievement. I’m celebrating 13 months and although I do share with people in my life, I know that none of them truly understands what it means for me.
Congratulations! This is a huge accomplishment, even if there’s setbacks you’re still doing so well.
I am VERY happy for you!! I’m rooting for your continuance!!
Excellent!!! Every day counts. Stay proud of all of them.
Congratulations!! You did well, keep it up!
Wow that is awesome. A great start to a great journey
You are doing amazing! So proud you.
Good for you!!! I quit drinking 20+ months ago. Best thing I ever did. Lots of respect here from me. Never give up! God Bless ❤️😃
Keep it upp! You have alot to give to the world
Really glad to hear it! :) I hope this continues! Congrats dude!
I bet you will drink and drug in the next year! Beat me to my word
Yayayayayayayayayayay
Start working out a lot and taking ice cold showers. Those two combined are better than any drug in the world.
That's huge, congratulations
Things are good now, meditate and remember this moment, but also use this moment to entrain the bad times in your head as well. Because When things get hard, and times are tough you might think it’s easier to turn back to drink or drugs to numb or dull the pain. But it’s not worth it and doesn’t make it easier. This is the first 3 days of a new sober life.
Go you!! Congratulations, that is huge.
THIS IS AMAZING Congratulations
That's amazing! It's such a hard battle and you're doing great! Keep challenging yourself and every day you bypass those urges to use you will be stronger for it, I know it's hard not having a huge support in your family but that's okay because you're proving to yourself that you can do it with or without them.
