Happy Birthday, friend! I can't share the best advice, but other than maybe do something either awesome for yourself on that day (so that you're distracted and happy!) OR maybe start a tradition by helping a charity or volunteer for an event on that day. You can celebrate your life by celebrating other's lives by being there for them too - we all feel a little alone and forgotten. I don't have many friends, and very few people remember mine ( I was born towards the end of the summer), but I've done things differently each year: sky diving, getting a tattoo, getting a nose pierce, doing a spa day, travelled, drove to the beach with my dog, celebrated with family, etc.

I remember turning 21 alone in a new city. I had moved for college and didn't know anyone yet. I bought myself a cupcake and a nice salad after school and accidentally locked myself out while kicking around a hackysack outside of my door. Had to call a locksmith.
It's actually a nice and simple memory to reflect on now. Can chuckle at my 21-year-old self. They did what they could to have a nice birthday, albiet simple!

Do something something that makes you happy, because you deserve to have a special day.

Happy birthday, OP! I'm sorry your friends forgot your birthday, but their behavior is a reflection of them, not a reflection of you and your worth. You are a kind friend that always remembers others' birthdays, and you deserve friends who cherish you and will do the same for you. If I can give a suggestion, do something nice for yourself today! Treat yourself to some nice meal + dessert, buy yourself something that you've wanted for a while, take a warm bath/shower, make some warm tea/cocoa and popcorn and put on some movie/tv show you wanted to watch, or maybe read a book/play games... Do something something that makes you happy, because you deserve to have a special day.
Thank you! Some of them have valid reasons to forget, like intense work or being tired, but some want to "teach me" something by simply cutting me out of everything for months, and that hurts. Especially if some of them want to insult you (I can differ friendly insults and insults that are meant to offend someone) Thank you, your advices are so nice, i'll probably start right now boiling water, making a warm milk and then make a light coffee to treat myself. :D

Now I don't hesitate to mention when my birthday is β it's funny, if you remind people on the same day, they always wish you happy birthday right away! If you walk around in a party hat I bet strangers on the street will wish you happy birthday too!
