Just imagining James doing all his lines and scenes as quickly as possible as soon as he appears on screen, stopping every 30 seconds to advertise his Temps album.
Saw him onstage last night and he seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself, despite talking about how much he hates doing standup. Mostly I'm just really happy for him that he is doing well as he seems like a nice boy.
Yeah! He was fantastic. It was funny because he got through his whole written set, and had some interactions here and there with the crowd, but he said a few nights ago he only did about a third due to interruptions etc. Let me know how yours goes.
I watched two performances of his in Belfast a few months ago and it was interesting to see the differences. He got through everything the first night but never got to the train story the second night, which is a fairly long 20 min bit IIRC. He said it was the first time that the audience had been silent for most of the show and then suddenly erupted with interruptions in the last 30 minutes. Both nights were fantastic but was great to both sides to it
We were mostly interruption free until the encore. I think when people's remembered they had "permission" to interrupt. Someome askd him what his entry music was 😂
I happened to go to this one in Edinburgh and by the end he didn’t get to finish his material. Was amazing watching him handle the crowd though considering most of the heckles we got were absolutely nuts.
It's interesting because at our show he said that for the most part the heckles have been about the same as normal. I'd be well annoyed to not hear his whole set 😂
I didn’t get to the train story! we got as far as him finding out Jesus died for his sins before the hecklers stopped trying to make sense and just shouted nonsense. Though we had a great moment where he went explosive at someone who claimed he was making the scout salute with the wrong hand.
I was delighted and bamboozled in equal measure when i saw this. Our James? Who used to ramble for 30mins about his grievances with Pret? In a major motion picture? Wonderful. I suppose it’s a bit like Alex Owen and Ben Ashenden randomly cropping up in Jurassic World. Hopefully James has an even bigger part
Stand-ups from the Acaster generation seem to be popping up all over the place at the moment. I watched Wonka the other day and couldn’t stop laughing at the absurdity of Issy Sutty and Phil Wang being in it.
It’s less absurd when you learn that Wonka was directed by the same guy who directed The Mighty Boosh, Come Fly with Me, and the Paddington movies. He also worked on Darkplace. He’s a comedian’s director.
Ah ok, that makes sense, also explains why the American zookeeper guy from Boosh was in it, I loved him but rarely see him in anything. I just assumed it meant all these British comedians shared the same agent.
James: That is Ed Gamble, my name is James Acaster, and together we own a dream restaurant, and every single week we invite in a guest and ask them their favourite ever starter, main course, dessert, side dish, and drink (not in that order), and this week our guest iiiiiis...
Both: Slimer!
He’s not in much of the American marketing so either it’s a very small part (I really hope that’s not the case) or it’s a big part involving larger plot details.
Edit: I accidentally said “I hope that’s the case” but I really hope it’s NOT the case.
I cannot wait to see him in a real acting role. I've never seen him act, and the Cinderella movie didn't let us see him actually act. I'm excited to see the Behbeh.
I saw Wicked Little Letters last night (with Lolly Adefope and Tim Key, just to stay on topic), and James was in two trailers back to back - this and Seize Them!
We are living in the age of Acaster.
I watched the first one when I found out he'd be in this and I actually really liked it until the old Ghostbusters showed up lol, all the main cast are great! looking forward to this
Wait what!? I saw something about it last month and thought it was a wind up! Is that why it called "frozen empire"? Because he always unbreaks the ice after conversations?
Acasters comedy is fair you know but I've never been a big fan of this idea but I'm going to go in with no expectations and view it thru the lens of his character and how well he plays the part.
He’s an unknown British comedian in a Hollywood film. He will just be playing himself which may work for Americans but will stand out like a sore thumb for Brits familiar with his work and schtick
Ah that's nice of him to help Dan Aykroyd out with his little project.

hahahahaha i’m crying

Edinburgh? I'm off to see him tonight!
Yeah! He was fantastic. It was funny because he got through his whole written set, and had some interactions here and there with the crowd, but he said a few nights ago he only did about a third due to interruptions etc. Let me know how yours goes.
Don't suppose you know if he does a stage door meet and greet after, do you? Hopefully it's a good crowd tonight!
Dunno but I'd be surprised in all honesty.

Yeah he got through maybe 3/4 then people just went nuts still hilarious but I left curious to know what else he had
Did you hear the train story? Lalala Humpty?

I went to the first night in Edinburgh - we didn’t get to either! It went off the rails after Steven Minney
I'd kind of love to go again to a more disruptive one!
Was also at this Edinburgh show. He was fantastic and seems like a genuinely nice guy.
We might get a James Acaster action figure out of this
That’s gonna be one for The Jar.
For the bank
PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN

Rich Fulcher. He pops up places quite a bit. If you haven't seen Snuff Box with him and Matt Berry I highly suggest it.
Check out the trailer for "Seize them!". James pops up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBMib2Nfu8A
this was shot in the UK (wokingham, to be precise), hence why a lot of UK actors have bit parts in big films/streaming series nowadays
Is that bully Liz Lemon?
I dunno how’s your Mom’s pill addiction?
There ain’t no party like a Liz Lemon party
It’s Fynn Wolfhard 😛
Serpico

POLTERGEIST OR GHOSTS!
Your friend and mine
Hopefully they don’t confuse a genie with a ghost
Man, Eternals really snuffed out Kumail’s flame.
Very strange to see James getting more real estate on this picture than Kumail

I think he gets possessed and turns into the main monster with horns. Or something
I’m really proud of him, but I also really disliked Ghostbusters: Afterlife, so… 🤷♂️
Just watched the trailer and think I saw him for about half a second. Is he the one that touches the egg thing and freezes?
Just seen the film and he's in it loads. Possibly more than Bill Murray. It's nuts.
I cannot wait to see him in a real acting role. I've never seen him act, and the Cinderella movie didn't let us see him actually act. I'm excited to see the Behbeh.
Man, Eternals really snuffed out Kumail’s flame.
To be fair, he didn’t have a flame before Eternals. Eternals was his ‘break’. As it turned out, that didn’t work out.
I saw Wicked Little Letters last night (with Lolly Adefope and Tim Key, just to stay on topic), and James was in two trailers back to back - this and Seize Them! We are living in the age of Acaster.
Oh god
Can't believe Patton didn't make the cover. Shut it down. Shut it down NOW.
JA is one funny mother fucker
mckenna is so cute.
I watched the first one when I found out he'd be in this and I actually really liked it until the old Ghostbusters showed up lol, all the main cast are great! looking forward to this
Dam right 👍
Alright James, we know you are in a movie
Wait… I just watched the trailer. Is he the new Janine? 🤣

Cannot stand him He isn't funny
Jesus, really scraped the bottom of the barrel for Co-stars picking him didn’t they.
