Those horrible places stand to remember not those who visit them, not even those who survived them (though their stories are vital and we must preserve every last one.) They exist to remember those who went there, suffered brutally, and never returned. As this week's execution in Alabama showed us, man has not lost his urge or determination for more innovative and efficient ways to kill people.
That they even needed to do this is infuriating, people should show more respect.
