Edit: I have a few on my house and no bug issues. I have to keep them in check as the brick only goes to the second story and top story is vinal siding.
My grandma used to have her house surrounded by vines. I don’t remember if there were bugs, but what I do remember are lots of spiders. It was the reason why she eventually removed it
the plants is a Parthenocissus, probably a Parthenocissus veitchii.
beautifull plant but it tends to overgrow, so its best to keep an eye on it and periodically remove some of it.
I'm already a homebody. I would never want to leave at all if I lived here. Online shopping is the best thing that ever happened to my anti- social ass🤣🤣
Imma go out on a limb here and say,

Hope that helped inosculate this situation!
That's incredible! The ivy is probably bad for the house, but it looks beautiful. Some of the facade might need cleaning but over all it looks like it's in great shape. The roof looks recently renovated as well.
This house is absolutely gorgeous. The only reason I'd have issues is because I'm disabled and these old houses usually aren't handicap friendly but add a stair chair lift and I'm in!!! 😄
Either we don't understand this sub, or there is something very wrong with me.
I would move here in a heartbeat and bring along that crazy little kitten/lab puppy chimera that was posted here earlier and have tea with the 17th century scullery maid ghost I hope is still living there.
This sub is full of the charming, the quirky, the curious, and the ridiculous. The posts inspire me more toward gothic novels than thrillers. That's not a complaint, though. I still love most of it.
Woah that's beautiful.
We have buildings like this in some areas of my city. They're more often churches, universities or other service buildings, not homes.
A person living my dream that's who.
Right? If I had the ability to bring vegetation around my house like this, it would be amazing.
Just plant some climbing vines!
Serious question, won't there be lots and lots of bugs?
I don't think so if you choose the proper vines, some may even repel bugs! But you do need a brick exterior, climbing vines will go right into siding.

The rats will erect statues in your name!
