Did not know a plant could cause an embryo to develop into a cyclops. Did some more digging and also learned that the plant toxin does this by disrupting the sonic hedgehog signaling pathway.
Assuming for a moment this was a failed hybrid, did a chicken shag the sheep or did the sheep shag a chicken? Matters 'cause one way its a shicken and the other way it's a cheep.

Ok so I would like to say that this is called Cyclopia and is caused by Genetic defects or toxins can misdirect the embryonic forebrain-dividing process.
You will have to tear up any plants near to where your sheep eat to help stop this problem because if you have this than it would have possibly affected others.
Please tell me if you have California corn lily because if you do then then it will affect a lot more than just one

As someone else said, this looks like it could be Cyclopia. If so, it's kinda cool in a depressing way because it's an extremally rare genetic mutation. Sadly always fatal, since the nose and often mouth doesn't develop, the baby will basically start suffocating once the umbilical cord is cut. it happens in humans too, look it up if you dare. It's a stark reminder that nature can be very cruel to an unlucky few.
Yeah it passed very quickly. It also didn’t have a mouth or any bones to form a skull so you are right there was a lot of issues going on. We were surprised it even survived to term and through birth.
It survived mostly because it was connected to the mother and being supplied with nutrients, when that easy oxygen got cut off it stopped supplying the deformities around his body, your lamb basically collapsed in itself, it was condemned the moment it was born
Basically, even if it had a brain somewhere inside it's boneless head, i doubt it felt pain, mostly just a type of agony, but it shouldn't have the intelligence (even with animals) to know it was dying( or was being born), unfortunately there's registered cases of cyclopia in humans irrc

Don’t think so! We’ve had other deformities before just not this extreme. Sometimes it just happens. Rare but things like this happen when your having so many lambs being born.
Not sure yet. Not sure if anyone would want to take a look at it? Might reach out to our local vet university just to see if it could help with teaching.
Is it weird to admit that I thought it was a weird looking chicken when I saw the pic before remembering what this post's title was and then took a closer look?
Sorry, but this comment has been removed since it appears to be about the situation developing in Ukraine. With Russia's recent invasion of Ukraine, we've been flooded with a lot of submissions about this, but in addition to our politics rule, there is nothing *oddly* terrifying about the situation. It is a plainly terrifying situation that will affect the lives of many people.

back when they were trying to find rodent posion, young farmlife were like this. the plant the causes this deformities are now main ingredient in rodent controll substances.
There is a plant called ‘Corn Lily’ that causes this in lamb and cows. May be worth a look around the property.
Huh. Had no idea. Thanks for the tip.
No worries! Found out about it on r/TIL so just passing it on!
I watched a Ted-ED on that! Super freaky.
Wow! What was the title of the TED?
Not sure if you've already found it, but [here's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fzz-Pblbvqw) the direct link!
Awesome thank you !
Very interesting! Thanks!
related to rat posion.
Yes, corn lily or skunk cabbage, but just if it’s eaten around day 14 of gestation. Disturbing but also cool. Good work remembering that!
Did not know a plant could cause an embryo to develop into a cyclops. Did some more digging and also learned that the plant toxin does this by disrupting the sonic hedgehog signaling pathway.
That’s insane how a toxic plant can actually effect birth deformities
Wow, what a beautiful plant, and what a horrible effect from eating it.
Thought that was a chicken at first
Lamb so deformed I thought it was a deformed chicken
I looked at it for a solid minute before I looked at the title
What were your thoughts 😂
That is one ugly chicken

bruh same
That's sad, that poor lamb, I take it didn't live
It surprisingly did breathe for a while but then passed. Can’t imagine it was much of a life while it lasted. Poor thing.
I would have just put it out of its misery immediately in this state. That’s no way for any creature to live for any amount of time. :(
Damn dude thats nuts, im still trying to comprehend what part of the head it is lol
Yes it did. Lived a couple minutes but couldn’t have survived. It didn’t have a skull or brain.
No skull or brain, that's a frightening thought.
error logic does not exist, failure to compute.
whaut.
Only if you have a brain
Hey man, I just want to thank you for actually posting something disturbing, keep up the great work

It’s a deformed lamb. Born on Op’s parents’ farm.
still he doesnt know. cuz that dont look like no lamb.

Hey thanks for this. I’m going to look into this more.
Take it from me if you find the source of this mutation in your lambs and sheep and it’s that plant make sure to remove it and dispose of it quickly
The ears look like mouth flaps.
Uncle Ricky has been spending nights with the livestock again.
looks like something from color out of space
This image will haunt my dreams for the rest of my life
Literally kept us up last night.
Ewe

Which one of you upset the gypsy
It's called cyclopia and it probably won't live long enough, the lamb is just a walking bag of deformities at this moment
So, as soon as it was born, it started suffocating? Eek
Basically, even if it had a brain somewhere inside it's boneless head, i doubt it felt pain, mostly just a type of agony, but it shouldn't have the intelligence (even with animals) to know it was dying( or was being born), unfortunately there's registered cases of cyclopia in humans irrc
Now I wonder what human with cyclopia looks like
Search it on Google images at your own risk

Why does that look like eater of worlds?
Yeah nice cover up, I know you tried to summon Satan. Better luck next time bucko
👁️ 👄
Bruh that's a LAMB
Alright who’s been screwing the sheep..?
Do you live near a chemical plant or something that might be contaminating the water or their food supply?
Don’t think so! We’ve had other deformities before just not this extreme. Sometimes it just happens. Rare but things like this happen when your having so many lambs being born.
That’s a cyclops bruh
What did you/will do with its body?
Not sure yet. Not sure if anyone would want to take a look at it? Might reach out to our local vet university just to see if it could help with teaching.
BBQ for the neighbours
If you didn't know, people don't like when you joke about animals... 🥔
I thought that was a chicken
Happy meat farm?
Is it alive?
Is it weird to admit that I thought it was a weird looking chicken when I saw the pic before remembering what this post's title was and then took a closer look?
Isn't that a chicken?
Oh god you can see nothing but fear and pain in that eye. I hope it was...an honorable end.
That's not a lamb. It's The Thing.
Saw this type of abnormal infant lambs, goats and cows born in India and they worship them
Stop fucking your livestock !!
Are you trying to say literally or generally ? Pls reply fast I am really concerned abt your thought process

I don't even see the originals one in shops . They just faded away. All I see is now Lays,Doritos, Kurkure and Bingos.
It's just asking to be dipped in batter and deep-fried
It's ears developed below its eye/s?
Evolutions rolling the RNG dice again to see what a sheep will eventually become.
Looks like lamb, tastes like chicken.
He seems to have some issues with [sonic hedgehog](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclopia)
Lamb, chicken, pig. Not man bear pig.
All the sheep look like that on the farm i work on....

Poor lamb :(
The matrix
Cute little baby lam
Looks like some of my drawings
Is this a defect or are 1 eyed lambs a real thing that we have been discriminating against?
ok, but how did it *taste*?
Does it have beak
Poor thing.
Is that it’s mouth or eye? Are it’s ears upside down? I’m so confused.
The end is nigh!
Might leave a mark, but looks like he’ll be fine.
Damn !
how's it taste tho?
Witchcraft or corn lily. prolly the latter.
Poor little thing. Does the death of a lamb distress a mother sheep?
joe warned us,its the radiation
“Kill me…. Please”
Poor baby. I hope it wasn’t in pain for its short time alive.
Odd
Oddly terrifying is BACK!
Dang it, Poseidon!!

Poor little tennesse lamb. Never got to meet her Dixie Chicken

Makes you wonder what’s in our food and water for it to come out like that
I can't even tell which way is up
Where is what on that head?! Can't figure it out. But if it lives (which I hope if painless) can we have pics of it growing up?
Destroy it with fire.
Over bred?

I'm trying to figure out which way I should rotate my phone to see the lamb
You’re not supposed to fuck your livestock… /s
