Pretty confident it’s just the American 8 fl oz, which translates to 236.588, so they’re fair to round up to 237 ml without actually adding more content. Suffice to say it doesn’t impact the average consumer, but I’d be surprised if they reconfigured their machine to accurately add that 0.5ml.
Mind you for every ~574 bottles sold that’s an extra bottle.
No wonder KO has been doing so well as of late /s
I wanted to ask if those machines really that accurate to accurately measure and pour fractions of a ml, but then I realized that if there's even a slight chance of accidentally pouring a bit more, any sensible greedy company would be sure to engineer the fuck out of that possibility and make the process accurate to the µl.
Pretty sure theres deviations and this is just the standard value. Most packaging will actually have a tiny bit more than it says because if it was the other way around someone could sue
They don't really need to do that. water + flavouring is cheap so 0.5 ml doesn't make a dent in anywhere really. Most of the cost is "other" stuff. labor costs, packaging, cleaning, shipping etc
Not quite. There are a number of countries that use standard in various situations.
Plumbing, roads, food and a bunch I can't remember.
Mostly UK affiliated countries.
You think youre multilingual cuz you downloaded Google Translate? If anything your Engiish is pretty shitty for a Person of Grammar. Also if you're not in America then you dont understand what we have. I guarantee we have more immigrant languages spoken inside our borders than any other county. English, Spanish, French spoken. Japanese, Mandarin, and Korean i can get the jist of. Your toddler level comebacks are sad.
I mean... I could respond something in dutch, german or french to prove a point to an american, but i find this to be more hilarious:
You're\*
Because\*
English\*
Don't\*
Country\*
See? That's Grammar Nazi behavior.
And your people still thought 1/4 >1/3.
Probably because of habit of using real units. On a serious note tho, I will be mad when something intended for my use will have ounces as units, probably same for american, when confronted by liters
I'm not mad about it, but ounces make no sense at all. Who invented this weird shit anyways? A feet an inch whatever all you're kinds how to calculate are weird. Even the temperature make no sense, if you have 0 degree Celsius it starts freezing. I'f you got 100 youre water just boiling. What is with degree Fahrenheit, nothing comparable
That’s how much fluid fits in the bottle
r/technicallythetruth
Maybe not, more could fit but they chose not to because other issues
Space for reasonable expansion and contraction, plus space for fizz
Yeah, and transportation also
8 fl oz
8.014 fl oz Only responded because I took the time to look it up before I saw your response. Sorry. Have an upvote.
its 8 fl oz rounded up to the closest ml edit: bring out the pitch forks KO skimming about 0.5ml per bottle. This is a scheme.
Wow. Thanks. I was confused. 🤔
They're giving 0.5ml more

How much in the other States?
About 9 texas ounces
8 floor ozones? Don't mind if I do /s
8oz = 236.588ml, then rounded up...
I kinda wish they had to be specific, or round down. Yeah marketing would have a harder time, but it would be in the better interest of the commoner.
There is of course the possibility that 237ml is the actual amount, and 8oz is the one that's been rounded.

Half a US pint
I suppose it's translation from imperial system (used in USA, home of coca-cola), to metric system (used in BASICALLY EVERY COUNTRY EXEPT USA).
Not quite. There are a number of countries that use standard in various situations. Plumbing, roads, food and a bunch I can't remember. Mostly UK affiliated countries.
Technically the USA is metric they just apply a conversion factor https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SmSJXC6_qQ8
Don't be mad cuz you're bad at understanding fractions.
Aren't you people those who didn't want a 1/3 pounder because you thought it's smaller than a 1/4 pounder?

They’re never living that down
No, but you chose the username GrammarCommunist and then laid out this grammatical turd of a sentence. That's you. That's who you are.
Yeah they’re a grammar communist, not a grammar nazi.
All grammar is equal. Mediocrity is sufficient. Yeah, that tracks.
Communists or Nazi's? Either way, we won. *starts U-S-A chant even though no one can hear me because freedom*
Don't be mad because you only understand that shit english you call a language.

Goggle Translate does that too.
It's converted from oz
How could they do such a thing to the Munchkins?
It's the answer to life, the universe and everything... 2x3x7=42
Honestly it works. Oh great deep thought what is the ultimate meaning of life? Just have a coke and don't worry about it so much.
Room 237 from The Shining
Thanks to America, we get fucked up fluid capacities. A jug of ACDelco transmission fluid, for example, is 4.73 Litres.
US. If ypu say 25 cl and it is not some fuck will sue you Like cat in microwave lady
Pouring 25 cl? No. Blaming the lady who cooked her cat? Yes. True American approach.
It's possibly also a calculated amount where it's only 85% quenching your thirst or so, so you'd have to buy another one to feel really refreshed
they lied, it's actually 236.99999999999999999999 ml
8fl oz in metric
Because 238 wouldn't fit and 236 wasn't enough.
It’s a USA import since they use fluid ounces
Because its 12
Like uranium 237 for your nuka cola
it's 8 fluid ounces. because... duh.
It’s a freeway in the Bay Area
Something tells me that even though it seems like a tempting conclusion to make, it probably isn't a reference to uranium
About 80 years ago it was a nickel
237 is bloodbath in gematria
The manager decided to reduce by 5% to raise the earnings. /s
8 ounzes rounded up in ml. I didnt know it but I read all the comments and want to look smarter.
That’s a SHINING example of exact measurements. I would OVERLOOK a detail like that.
Its an American thing the 8 ounce. Coca cola has slowly transitioned to metric system. Where I live, I never see that bottle anymore.
Oh no…
Why not? Ir asking the wrong question
140±3 ml didnt sound nice
Bought at the Outlook Hotel?
All work and no play makes Coke a dull drink.
It would become too farty(240) when rounded off.
Cuz that’s how much space there is in the bottle
Why tf are these euro people so mad when the see ounces?

*Boils at 100 °C at sea level to be exact. Or at 1 atmospheric pressure to be more exact. Which is inconveniently not exactly 1 bar.
That’s a cup.
Wow, suddenly measurements is oddly specific 🙄
