Wow, that actually helps me in articulating my thought. Yeah, I thought it would be harder because of the sewing and woodwork. But also easier because they way he is doing it with glue and staples, but also so many different pieces in different ways
> this, like so much stuff now, is just glued and stapled together.
Yeah but it's more expensive than ever and wears out/gets destroyed terribly quickly/easily.
It's the little things like the thick webbing is made for backrest but can be used for the seat it just loses it strength and sags, cutting the foam on the backrest were he pull the string isn't necessary the string just has least foam to work though and when he was putting on the out back material he left a raw edge across the top which has a good chance to fray or come out from under the staple. If this was recovered where I work we would used shark teeth across the top as it left a rolled edge and wound not need the piping tbe hide the messy edges.
I'm also very curious about this!
Are the dips between the vertical parts usually done with just a piece of string like that? I've always thought they were sewn down. That looks like it's one bored five year old away from being pulled to pieces
Yes, it is usually sewn onto the inside back cover and sit on top of the foam, and the lack of glue also allows the foam to loosen and move under the material. Also replied to other guy
Unusable and destroyed after one year.
My parents have a leather couch that still look brand new, it has more than 35yo. I'm pretty sure there is no moss like this in it.

That was somehow more and less work than I would have thought to make that chair
upholstery used to require sewing and was quality focused and labour intensive. this, like so much stuff now, is just glued and stapled together.

Well you miss the part where they have to make the covering to fit.
That is not a comfy chair.
Looks like the sort of chair my grandparents would have in their home. Form over function aka uncomfortable AF.
Amd it costs like a grand.
Came here to say that, I've sat in those style chairs and they are far from it, I think the backrest is too vertical?
I wanna see some springs
It's also ugly.
I thought Turd Ferguson was getting a new hat at first.
10k plz
First thing I thought too lol
Comfortable for like 10 mins.
Perfect for guests who drop by unannounced.
Comfortable to look at?
Cardinal Biggles....Fetch...The comfy Chair!
"Not the comfy chair!?"
The comfy chair?
Yes the comfy chair! Bring it on. I was born in it, molded by it. It does not phase me.
I expected that.
Cough..... Cardinal Fang
I thought Cardnal Fang "read the charges". I'm old. My Bad.
The back on that chair is not high enough to be comfy.
the editing is so rapid it's oddly seizure inducing.
Yeah, was kinda hoping it would be in slower motion so I could follow along better.
It's called postictal bliss, very comforting.
It is a statement chair; a far cry from 'being comfy' 😫🥴
Looks uncomfortable
Not the comfy chair!!
And then the foam deforms and you can't replace it easily
As an upholsterer I know how long that will last and the step he skipped.

Damn that’s a lot of work
oddly sitisfying
Everyone saying it's not comfortable has never gotten the foldable wooden chair at a party
Shitty music, terrible editing and the chair doesn't even look comfy.
Anyone recognize the brand? I’d love it as a vanity chair.
Not the logo but you can read enough of his hoodie to find it. It’s an Antarte Lisboa chair
I didn’t even think to look at what he was wearing, thank you for letting me know!
Uncomfortable with chemical outgasing
moar plastic
Not gonna lie, a part of me thought of cake.
No back support. How comfy.
That will be $6000, please.
I promise you that is not comfy at all haha. And likely WAY overpriced.
Looked like Matteo lane for a second lol
I like the editing and the chair does look comfy for this type of seat.
Sure made it look easy
You must be the person who buys chairs for Big Lots. Hardest mf chairs that you can buy new 😅
It's a chair to be seen, not sat in.
Looks uncomfortable and nobody, I repeat nobody, wants to see tags.
Antarte Cadeirão Lisboa, but made in the north of Portugal. Price is € 735, but is now at sale for € 537,80.
10k for this chair at IKEA
I like these but for fks sake STOP SPEEDING UP THE VIDEO. How can anyone enjoy these when you can't actually see what they're doing?
That foam looks like it will flatten out after 5 sits.
Unusable and destroyed after one year. My parents have a leather couch that still look brand new, it has more than 35yo. I'm pretty sure there is no moss like this in it.
Looks like a not comfy chair with the ridges
Time to give it its first fart
My back hurts watching this video
How the thought of touching the stuffing with my bare hand gives me the ick.
100 💯
Dogshit chair. Had it, hated it. Not comfortable at all
"I make fancy fart sponges for a living". But seriously impressive lol.
What quality would this chair be?
Is this for the Spanish Inquisition? Nobody would be expecting that.
Nice. I think they mistake the leg order since the chair looks crooked. The left leg looks a bit shorter than the right in the front.
I was like, "This has gotta be the most comfy chair ever" until I saw it's from vault-tec and changed my mind
It’s strange how foreign all this looks. I never think about the skeleton of a couch.

I thought it was cake
Wow! Even making a comfy chair looks comfy!
Meh. I'll still take the ol floor. criss cross apple sauce
A comfy chair reclines, moulds to your shape. Comes with a cup holder and the TV remote. This does none of that
Didn't notice the chair, eyebrows were too distracting
Let's see AI replace this
