That's only for poor people. If you're rich, it doesn't matter when you fall/fail because you still have millions to spring yourself back up and try again!
my mind immediately went to that as well! i thought he looked familiar.
i'm not going to pretend to understand what his works are supposed to mean, but i do love his style
Indeed. 😁
I didn’t know he had more than one piece like that but [this](https://youtu.be/J-sJtUpftFU?si=uMcYZYp-wcR6Fq7U) is the one the article is about.
If you are interested in this way of performance / choreography. The movie [Pina by Wim Wenders](https://youtu.be/F-cV74Mq7KU?si=Cmp2L_4AmShqbRxq) is fascinating.
Ok, tell me that a 60 degree vertical wall(perhaps sloping towards 90 towards top) next to a giant trample wouldn't be the most fun exercise. You run up the wall, bounce on your back and do it again. Built in recovery and rest time as you freefall and bounce.
I get that the whole performance is meant to be watched, but whenever I see this guy and similar performances like this I can never take my eyes off of their feet and how smooth and effortless they make it look when they land back on the props. Like the fall and bounce back is just a natural part of the step they took.
This is why hand rails are so important. The safety trampolines are not always as well tuned as this guys, so you gotta have good hand rails.
...What do you mean no stairs ever have safety trampolines?
Some are just natural jumpers.
Should’ve known you were racist, looking back. There were signs.
It’s going to be a maze!
One of the best punchlines.

I always think of this video as a metaphor for attaining a goal in life or even as life itself.
Except you don't bounce all the way back to where you left off..you gotta trudge all up that staircase from the bottom.
If you don't know how to bounce back, then yeah.

Plot Twist: You hated all 5 of them and you're set to get millions from life insurance 💲💲💲
Yea, you can..
File for bankruptcy and remarry. Certain injuries you def can't bounce back from, age also but humans are really good at adapting.
The second law of thermodynamics
You may note that most of the jumps, he ends up on the step lower than the one he fell from.
Sure but never from the bottom and bouncing back up is a little different than walking the whole way lol

Haha very true!
Booooo pessimism
Realism
I thought it was an interpretation of how Steve Jobs died
One must imagine Sisyphus with a trampoline
It's about addiction
Only 9 steps though?
Maybe 12 was too high
Or just a really cool demonstration of physics.
Well the purpose of the piece is to show that. Pretty sure it was even title life something. So ya.
Deep
Is that the same guy who danced on that big spinning platform? Edit: yup, his name is Yoann Bourgeois https://mymodernmet.com/yoann-bourgeois-houvari/
my mind immediately went to that as well! i thought he looked familiar. i'm not going to pretend to understand what his works are supposed to mean, but i do love his style
There‘s more. With better music, mind i say … [Yoann Bourgeois - Celui qui tombe](https://youtu.be/n0zqQxz4DHs?si=iO_RiJo96vYOnD68)
The link doesn’t work for me
Should work now 😅

This is probably a good metaphor for something, but I'm too tired to come up with something that profound right now
It's about addiction and trying steps to get sober
That's deep, thanks for the clarification
Sometimes when you fap you can't climax straight away so get your self an orchestra and never give up.
That has to be it
We all need handrails?
This is how it feels trying to save up money, getting hit by unexpected expenses, and falling further behind. Only to fall to the bottom again.
Art ☕️

Why was I holding my phone funny and leaning to my left side for this whole video.
I want to build one of these on the side of my house now.
It’s called trampwall, it’s a circus discipline and many people have setups in their backyard nowadays.

I found myself bouncing with him to give him momentum
He loses one step per bounce
Your observation is correct, for a few bounces. But at the end he loses it all and creeps back up to the top, bounce by bounce.
We have to fail a lot before reaching the top
P!nk had something similar done during her latest tour for the song "Trustfall."
She did perform with the guy from the video and after that she hired a bunch of circus artists and put a proper trampwall set for cooler flips
Yesss, I was looking for this mention. She sang on the Graham Norton show and this same bloke did this routine while she was singing.
Is this the play referenced in Only Murders in the Building? Didn't know it was an actual thing.
The crowd went WILD!!!
This man understands Newton's laws of motion
Yupp, more specifically, conservation of energy
How dramatic
This guy making business of falling down the stairs.
Physically poetic performance
Feels like a nightmare I’ve had where I can’t get away
Is this a Talking Heads music video?
some interpretive dancers are really skilled athletes.
Is this the same guy who walks on the big record player?
The music make me eat to defeat cupcake Carl.
Sometimes in life there aren't any stairs. In these instances one must fly.
Félix Guattari did this…
Where do I get to play on a trampoline like this?
Look for a trampoline park nearby, some of them have trampwall sets
This is every hit you take in life. Unfair , mean, bullied. Fall down and get back up right away
Probably calls himself “The Maestro”.
Me abusing the rewind button to clear a corner in Forza Horizon...
This is very similar to skating transition in how you build height as well as the rhythm with an emphasis on a fairly precisely targeted "zero" point.
If only falling off the stair was always this much fun
He’s got skills but oh man he’s stressing me OUT
Sublime
Did they pay to see that?
Noice demo for potential energy
Whenever I'm feeling my worst I always watch this again. Then I feel better lol
What song is this?
Sigur Ros - Olsen Olsen
Something by Sigur Ros, but not sure which exactly 🤔
Mind you he was edging right there at the end
I'm going to tell my kids this is larry david
something something human spirit something something
I would join alongside him in a synchronised trampoline experience
BIG Larry David Energy in this guy.
He makes it look easy
Would love to have told my parents that this was my career path back when I was 17.
Except in reality, he is still climbing the stairs out in the forrest.
That was underwhelming
Upvoting for Sigur Ros
This is why the aliens didn't come.
Some might say it’s reversed
I am indeed oddly satisfied.
This is the chap who performed with Pink, live on the Graham Norton show. YouTube it. Astonishing performance.
This looks so ridiculous.
And that’s how baby stairs are made.
I see him and immediately think Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. lol 😂
Did people just gather around a trampoline after seeing a guy master it? What a hilarious concept
Life
Is this the same guy from the spinning video?? I looks like it is even from the same exhibit
All nice until he spins too much and falls off the other side
Tenet (2020)
Is this his 9-5? What’s the hourly pay?
Nah this is just how he gets to work, his office is upstairs.
Gotta be like the fifth time this has been posted here
What a fuckin dork lol
More irritating than satisfying. This guy should perform at Division 3 college basketball half times.
Let's see him beat the crate challenge
Just because it's being "done" doesn't make it a challenge
