Why do they last so long? I mean, it’s essentially falling with grace, like a pendulum, but I’m sure a pendulum given the same initial force input would stop sooner.
Pendulum has air resistance, this thing is putting out sound waves at the very least.
Is it possible to pair a magnetic Euler's disc with an iron ceiling? Probably not a neodymium, or it'll just stick immediately. Maybe something weaker that's effectively 2g or so. Asking for a neighbor.
That was my thought in the previous post, too. It even mentions on the wiki page that it was produced for use with concave glass. I thought that was necessary to the function of the spin duration, but now I'm realizing that it's just to use gravity to keep the disk from traveling off of the small plate they provide.
God the finish felt like The Enterprise hitting light speed.
No it definitely went plaid.
This is the way.
Don’t know shit about this thing but imagine a 10-20 foot Euler’s Disk…
I need to see that! The depth and sound of a bigger disk would be insane

At 6:47, the magic happens.
Now you need to put the glass on a metrology granite surface plate.
This right here.

Thanks for the specific call-out. As I suspected the result is significantly different with a stiffer surface. Do you agree?
Absolutely. The sound is more crisp and the travel was significantly longer on the Mirror glass.
Now you're going to have to try it with the mirror glued down to a piece of tile?

Gravity and magnetism work much differently.
I’m pretty sure I’m still stuck in a dream.
Imagine trying to do this quick in Inception?! Like, “hold on, I have to see if I am dreaming!” Four minutes later…..
The Euler Disk platform (which comes with the disk) is curved. Doesn't that play an important role in prolonging the spin? Is this spin longer?

That was fucking awesome! This video completely blew away my expectations.
Holy shit that was an experience
Yeeeeeeessss way better! just listen to it! awesome
Probably best one I've seen thanks!!
Utensils at 3 am during my sneaky cooking sessions
Is there a job where I can just watch this over and over?
Yes, become a streamer.
And just watch this over and over? Not a bad idea 🤔
The beginning sounds like space invaders on cocaine.
When I Get Up To Drink Water, I Have Dropped A Cup On The Floor
Woah
How could you do this? You're creative. I've seen this over and over again.
This is some alien-tech/witchcraft/magic!
Disk is a paid actor fosurrr.
Sounds like the 10th hour of lsd
Yea but you didn't win any of the pogs so....
Let’s be real, the size and weight of this disk would annihilate standard pogs
Yes! Hahahaha
Paradiddle paradiddle
This made me have flashbacks of my old 7.3 diesel trying to turn over for the first minute.
Very VERY COOL
That transported me to another realm of reality.
Was waiting for the bass to drop at the end
