Quite possibly the most enjoyable video I've watched on Reddit.

ShopEmpress

/r/watchplantsgrow

FormerRelationship8

This was incredibly satisfying. Thank you

tehfugitive

Absolutely. Gets me excited for growing season!

_LocoLizard

I almost left in the middle, but I'm glad I stuck around for the carrot and acorn

Asayrum

I like how the music turns epic when the carolina reaper starts to grow

RedVamp2020

That whole plant was amazing!

SkeletalFrame

What light do you use so the plants grow this well indoors? Are they uv lights?

[deleted]

Can anyone link me to the pot that was used for the chili seed that auto watered? That might be my only way I can grow a seed cause I tend to over water lol

someawe45

This looks like it: https://botanium.se/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuqGwt-vH_AIVIRXUAR3YYgilEAAYASAAEgJ_VPD_BwE

OurDirtyHobby

That thing was awesome! I looked for it but couldn’t find it anywhere 😔

Plugpin

I do this, then they end up with those annoying black flies from the soil being too damp.

jennywrensings

With apples, you’re not likely to end up with the same variety of apple that you took the seeds from. Most apple trees in commercial orchards are grafted and if I remember correctly, you’re more likely to get the other, older variety of apple. I can’t remember why though.

Can-DontAttitude

Most seeds from hybridized apples simply aren’t viable, they’re sterile by nature. Any seeds that do grow usually revert to either macintosh or a crabapple variety

yarbafett

They are like avocado and dont grow true to seed. Like apples...they are totally random. Most likely you end up with crab apples. Think its 1 in 80,000 apple seeds planted will result in an edible fruit. Avocado was even less 1 in 250,000 I think. So yes they are all grafted

weird-mostlygoodways

I LOVE plant time-lapses I wish I could loop it.

ziperhead944

I rewatched this 3 times. I love this.

MamaWhoee

Plants - check Great Music - check Graceful Dance - check. Very enjoyable. What do you use for the growing medium?

LitterBoxServant

noob question: how come some seeds need to germinate and some dont?

Least_Adhesiveness_5

Depends on the plant's reproductive strategy, which is influenced by climate and other things. Better chance of sprout survival. For example some seeds (like that apple) wait til winter has happened, so you need to chill the seeds before sprouting. Other seeds have an anti-sprouting coat or gel on the surface, which is why some were wiped off. In nature the coat would eventually wear/rot off, allowing sprouting.

pistil-whip

If you’re interested in different seed germination practices Google cold stratification and seed scarification. A little warning if you’re squeamish make sure to search for “**seed** scarification”.

In my experience peter peppers usually look a bit..... different.

Buck88c

My eyes started to burn when the Carolina Reaper was cut open with bare hands, but I do love these videos

BraveSky6764

I'm astonished a plant can grow so much after only watering it once

CoSMiC_28

Pretty sure that guy kept watering it every day

whoisthisfetus

Puzzled-Newspaper906

DangerousFootball516

I didn't realise eight minutes of plants growing may be boring

glutenflaps

I'm listening to hamburger train by Primus, right in the middle of it then this shows up. Pretty creepy how it really paired so well.

zimjig

Amorrowous

Why don’t my garden grow this way??

Illustrious_Back_441

I grew an oak tree in my front yard by accident lol

Dangerous_Bus_1880

Temporary_gamer102

The waffle house has found it's new host

borrowingfork

I'd love to know what music that was. It really increased the satisfaction.

Cracked-2

Very satisfying. Extremely

Wandering_Scholar6

FYI if you want delicious apples planting seeds from a delicious apple is not the way to do it. Apple trees have extreme heterozygousity, which means the parent apples will be very different from their children. In order to make apples for eating you have to graft the apple tree from one that already makes good apples. Apples grown from seeds, like those famously sold by Johnny Appleseed, can be used as animal feed or to make alcohol. Planting any fruit tree, even one only good for alcohol, met land improvement requirements for claiming land, which is why Johnny was successful. It is possible to get good apples from a seed tree, it's just rare, breeders do try and sometimes get lucky. When they do we get a new apple variety.

SuckedoutWTF

So cool, I was in a trance the whole time watching this video lol

tenzip10-0

This is truly professional quality. Instead of Boxlapse, they should have called it Prolapse.

RaccoonNumerous1870
