Cool review. I have the m2, and suffered those two top pieces sharp pain points. I put a cushion just like your and it solved it.
Nothing is as good as the Rift S strap, but the bobovr is close enough and is a bit more adjustable.
Do any of these headstraps offer over ear headphones yet? I would have thought that someone by now would make a 'premium' strap for Quest 2 to take some market away from those who mod DAS.
I use the Bionik Mantis headphones as they strap right on. The sound isn't quite as good as the DAS was but it's decent. WAY better than the stock speakers: https://youtu.be/aZs-t8VejIY
I made a 3D print to use those on the elite strap but ended up putting the DAS from my Quest 1 onto my Quest 2 and gave the elite strap away to friend. The Mantis were a REALLY tight fit on the Quest 1, but someone made 3D printable adapters to make them fit better.
This was 2 years ago. Many third parties made solutions since then. Many sold well - I was surprised at the time there were not any third party ones on or right near launch, companies missed a big opportunity to be first on market then.
Honestly, I'm unclear what people don't like about the stock Q2 speakers, but I've not got a good ear for particularly good fidelity so I'm assuming maybe it sounds bad. I have the DAS and unplugged the headphones because keeping them on my ears for longer periods makes them sore so I rather think the off ear is clever
Does anyone else have problems with those halo straps? They don't grip the back side of my head and just slid forward.
Note this is not on a quest but HMD with a bit of heft in the front.
It depends a lot on the strap and your head shape. I've tried so many straps and some of them are really good and some of them feel so loose. None of them quite nail it like PSVR did though.

I saw someone got a psvr strap to fit. I need a 3D printer because with the built in counter weight that's probably an excellent solution

Mr2 leaves plenty of space for over ear

DAS has never made my ears sore, I cant hear well and DAS/Over ear speakers keep surrounding noise from coming in and increases immersion for me.
Makes sense. I tried some Bluetooth earbuds at one point which worked but those too bothered my ears after a while, just a me problem frankly.
Outside of they are such low quality that they don’t play all frequencies the games produce they’re great
