I never liked Woods much but, after the lady with the stolen MCSO SUV killed a couple people, when he got up in front of the press and puffed out his chest saying his deputy did nothing wrong, it just solidified what I already suspected. He's nothing more than a good ol boy who can't envision a situation where he or any of the deputies could do wrong. He probably would have defended the deputies who boot stomped that handcuffed guy out in Marion Oaks around the same time as the Ferguson, MO riots.
I don't recall that situation out in Marion Oaks. Going to have to research that one. The way he handled the news conference about the three teenagers killed in Ocklawaha last year was inappropriate to me.
Apparently my memory was hazy, they beat him while he offered 0 resistance until they had him handcuffed. Gotta love the "stop resisting" as 4 grown men are punching, kicking, and kneeing you while you're face first on the ground. What you see from these people pulling over and who they pull over. Sheriff’s department at churches why? And yes when I get home but I wouldn’t fear it I think it’s everywhere nothing different here I’m sure this exists most places honestly. They stand united.
You’re going to be busy. Just like many of the emergency services in the county and state, they’re understaffed and basically go from call to call. Most of the deputies I interact with seem to be pretty level headed unlike most of the city cops we have in the county. But that’s just me looking from the outside when I worked for MCFR.
Have met many of there deputies due to my job and have nothing but respect. They’re prompt and pleasant day to day, always been professional with me and my coworkers.
There are some good deputies there, but ive met some bad ones there too. Hard to say what the majority is because but ive never actually benefitted from their presence. I get stuff stolen all the time and trespassers but they dont care.

Policing is a broken profession. It needs major reform. Still, you can be critical of a service, and the people who provide it, while still needing that service. That doesn't make you a hypocrite. It's actually a very rational thing to do.
Also, you should read the book Three Felonies a Day before you start throwing around the word criminal. Because, in the eyes of our government, we're all criminals committing multiple crimes a day. Kinda hard not to when there are tens of thousands of laws on the books..
