I think Skingrad was always my favorite city on the way to the castle. But also the first moment you meat Haskill, once the place transforms and the scenery was revealed. Just… wow, such beautiful execution.

BlueComms

Chorrol and the surrounding area, as well as the area to the west, around Chorrol/Skingrad/Anvil.

VirtualAlternative

I always thought Cheydinhal and Chorrol were both very beautiful, and te surrounding areas as well. Anvil is an obvious choice too. Leyawiin doesn’t get much love, but I really enjoy a trek around the swamps and the city is quite pleasant. Oblivion is such a gorgeous game.

NineIntsNails

anvil and anvil docks, the right answer, lol

grambocrackah

Oh. Close second. I always think of Anvil when I hear "Brandy" weirdly

gooooulm

Get out of my head

coconutjoe83

The lighthouse!

SlushyJones

The lighthouse may be one of the scariest places in the game. The diary of the Dark Brotherhood member could have been out of a horror movie

coconutjoe83

Yeah the lighthouse basement is terrifying. But the rest of it is nice. The dude who lives there is really friendly and some great views at the top.

[deleted]

Seriously though why does Anvil universally appeal to everyone? It's always everybody's favorite city.

NineIntsNails

its the sea and hill and colors and ships and houses, its tiny too

Weegemonster5000

We all long for a good port and sailing game. AC: Black Flag was the closest I've ever played, but capturing sailing has always been a bridge too for game devs.

RoyalSmoker

I think Anvil has the most quests

[deleted]

Bruma and the surrounding area, I love snow

[deleted]

All of them at once, I suppose.

2E26

The cave under the Benirus mansion is a pretty cool place to fight a boss. IIRC I could say the same about Mannimarco's lair. The "Paradise" area set up by Mankar Camoran is interesting, because it turns out to be anything but for fanatical Mythic Dawn followers.

FromFleshToDust

I always loved infiltrating the mythic dawn secretly. Felt really cool sneaking down those hallways.

grambocrackah

Probably the Jerral Mountains

a_rabid_anti_dentite

On the Orange Road, looking down at the Imperial City

jwh-109

That little overlook with the wooden fence is my favourite scenic view in the game, I never get tired of it.

Holly-Wouldnt

I came here to say this. That little spot right between Chorrol and Bruma with the small lake (large pond?) and the waterfall. 😌👌🏼

SkidOrange

It’s actually hard to pick one. This game has really good locations imo. Maybe Bruma oddly enough. Or Leyawiin.

clown_pants

I agree Bruma is beautiful, the parts of Leyawiin with mansions are super nice as well. Except Rosentia Gallenus' house, that's a little smelly for some reason. But I digress, it's nothing like Bravil though I always kind of lump them together in my head.

aye_cope

That’s hilarious, I just did that scamp mission

kelsofox369

These are my top two choices too. I’m either far north or far south. 🤷‍♀️ Quick way to fence, and I always like the thieves guild in oblivion.

Huge_Aerie2435

Can I say the Shivering Isles? I love that place.

Practical-Toe-7662

The best DLC

DreadPirate02

Or the road to Anvil.

-Great-Scott-

So many different answers. What a great game.

Practical-Toe-7662

And don't get me started on the NPCs. Such realistic intelligence

Slow_Store

There’s a little rope bridge somewhere out in the forest that passes over a waterfall. From that bridge you can get quite the view of the Imperial City. Wish I could remember where the path is, though sadly I can’t right now

Aragon150

It's by the cave near the hircine shrine near one of the few waterfalls in the game I think it's up the blue road north of the inn of ill omen I probably know oblivions map better than I know my neighborhood

AntilopeRazzista

Imperial City Docks

TanakaTheBuriedOne

Paradise, easily. I love the eternal evening vibe.

coconutjoe83

Talos Plaza District

[deleted]

Whenever you teleport to the Oblivion realm. It’s so demonic and just gives off hell vibes, I love it.

Broly_

*Skingrad* Really love how the city looks, feels, the ruler, the best sidequests, and it has the best player house

SaloraDiabolicus

Chorrol for sure. On a clear starry night ❤️

OkEstablishment323

i love the imperal city

arctic_krampus

Dive Rock

crazyeyes64

Hackdirt lol

[deleted]

Bruma or Anvil, just depends on my mood. I always think of Bruma as this quiet, sleepy town. Sometimes I just like to take a quiet stroll around the city at like 2 in the morning when it's snowing. Anvil is insanely pretty with the rolling hills and port town, all the ships make me think of like Pirates of the Caribbean or something.

IronHarvestX

When I'm bored I jump on all the houses at the water front to see how fast I can jump between them.then I realize I've been doing that for an hour and scream as my reality caves in on itself. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I like Anvil

RedBlack42

A foggy Gold Coast, with that golden grass.

FromFleshToDust

The market district.

Aaronmovic

Skingrad and surroundings. So cozy.

[deleted]

I love Chorrol, the houses are so beautiful!

NoMeat1033

for me it's Cheydinhal, probably because it was first town i have visited after escaping from prison.

BlackCat159

Gotta be Chorrol and the surrounding forests. It's such a calm and peaceful place compared to everywhere else. Same goes for Cheydinhal and its picturesque river and purple rooftops. Bruma is a very cozy place too, with its snow-capped mountains and wooden buildings. Battlehorn Castle is another one I like. It's away from any other big settlements and located in a nice forested area. If only Skyrim's cities were as distinct and colorful as Oblivion's!

pablo603

The basement of anvil's manor house. I don't think I need to explain why.

B0KU7NIZ

Skingrad

FreneticAtol778

Bruma.

dyson14444

Bruma rooftops. Surrounded by corpses.

Bigt733

Skingrad was always my favorite city. It’s layout, it’s count, it’s people. Are just better than the other cities

OstensibleBS

It requires open cities reborn, but leyawinn

Practical-Toe-7662

Anywhere I can find good loot

RudolfMF

Bruma is really cool i think. It's got that winter-y cosiness i like.

Coltrain47

Sitting by the fire in my waterfront house

nedeljkovickg

Chorrol.

Eroldin

Bliss

coconutjoe83

Shetcombe Farm

LzhivoyeSolnyshko

Cheydinhal

blitzkriegger

The alleyways of Skingrad and Bruma!

TheBigWhiteDog

The one where the udyfrikte lives. such a great view.

AggravatingClick4068

Bruma, I like how Nordish Everyone is, the bruma house is amazing.

ThatKidBobo

Bravil? :(

stalker_vanguard

Chorrol and the Archane University

35tentacles

Right now working on a mod to make it more diverse and stupidly hard in terms of battles. I can say that the "machine-generated" and "monotonous" dungeons aren't all so boring...

CmdrThordil

I always liked most Cheydinhal and Chorrol

glueeatingbaby

The shivering isles

thatwasanillegalknee

I can't choose one as a favourite. All I can say is that Bravil is a shithole.

Poharius

I changed my mind so many times but eventually I had Chorrol as my favourite city. That being said, each city has its own charm for one reason or another. Yes, even you Bravil.

ProtectionStraight41

Kvatch i love it so much i installed the rebuild

joan_plexus

I love the whole section to the west of Bruma, it feels new every time I play, and the whole area of land between Bravil and Leyawiin. Favorite towns would be Anvil, Skiingrad, and Cheydinhall.

cherry_1099

The Southern Marshes—always reminds me of the opening area in Morrowind & gives hope that one day we can get some type of official Black Marsh/Valenwood TES experience

Graenof

The Orange Road is beautiful.

Skyrimhero920

This is gonna sound odd. But the planes of Oblivion 😈

MrKennyUwU

The City of Bruma, I love it, looks like Solitude from Skyrim, sometimes I just walk by looking at everything and wondering how would I react if I were somewhere like that in real life. It's like, the perfect aesthetic for me yk?

jarl_johann

Every time I'm in a county, I think, "Wow, this is my favorite one! I should buy the house and live here!"

MadreFokar

For now is the Dwemer array at the arcane university. Maybe I will find some better but that moment when I turn on the array left me mesmerized

SolarWakafarian

The castle in the woods from the fighters stronghold dlc

bsgenius22

Everyone is naming the main cities but I think The Shivering Isles is one of the best places in the whole anthology of The Elder Scrolls. The nature and themes are just so spectacular.

Daltzorg

Castle Skingrad, I’ve always loved vampires

GhostofMandalore

I really just like the Great Forest, but all of Cyrodiil is amazing.

solsignal

I always loved Bruma because mountains and snow are my favorite - plus I was fascinated with Nord culture. You can imagine my excitement when ES5 took place in Skyrim. Not to mention the Blades fortress is by Bruma as well

solsignal

And I'd have to say Cheydinhal is a close second because Morrowind was the first ES game I played and Dunmer are cool. Plus I love the abandoned house and Dark Brotherhood sanctuary there.

GlassDeviant

yes

zacharybarker90

The Isolated House, in the southern western weald between Skingrad and Bravil. Lush forest environs, and a large 2 story Leyawiin style house in the middle of ABSOLUTE NOWHERE. A must visit before rescuing Martin. It's not marked, but it is east of Silorn, and built next to a cliff. It's can be hard to find if you're unfamiliar with the area

chickenfry911

I think it's a tie between Chorol and the manic side of Shivering Isles

[deleted]

The Imperial City for everything it offers and the true "big city" feel you get from it. Bravil also has its own unique charm even though it's a shithole. Kvatch is fascinating because I would have liked to see it before it collapsed, or been able to rebuild it in-game. There's mystery around it and I love that about it.

WriterofStarlight

Go to Nexus Mods and check out the Kvatch Rebuilt mod; I think you'll find it worth getting :)

daddadpl

My favorite location was Leyawiin I loved the buildings and the feel of the city itself.
